Top 10 Best Upscale Bars / Lounges on the Las Vegas Strip

Sin City has an infinite number of laid-back watering holes to get your drink on, but it also has plenty of upscale spots where you can dress fancy and drink even fancier. These spots, which are classified into the entertainment category “Lounge” or “Ultra Lounge,” are venues with more visually impressive interior design and decor that attract more well-dressed clientele starting later in the evenings. Like their nightclub siblings, lounges in Las Vegas emphasize music, alcohol consumption, and sexy people-watching. However, there are a few key differences between the lounges and the more well-known nightclubs of Sin City.

What is the difference between a Lounge and Nightclub?

  • Size. Lounges are smaller venues than nightclubs, with layouts typically half the size (or less) of the square footages of nightclubs.
  • Dance Floor. Lounges typically do not have dedicated dance floors like nightclubs do. Unlike a regular bar, however, you’ll often find a good amount of people at any lounge dancing to the music – either standing in place, at their seats, or within the lounge’s smaller open spaces that aren’t dance floors but can become de facto gathering places for drunk strangers to rock out to the music together.
  • Drink Menu. Lounges offer libations of all price points but usually emphasize higher-end craft cocktails and mixology; nightclubs carry more standard drink options and focus on pulsating music and light shows / pyrotechnics.
  • Seating Availability. Lounges often accommodate groups with seating at a reasonable price point, or merely require the opening of a credit card tab with no minimum spend in exchange for seats. Nightclubs only offer seating if a client reserves a pricy VIP section requiring a one or more bottle minimum.
  • Dining Availability. Lounges frequently offer eating options, sometimes a full dinner menu but more often a limited set of appetizers that complement their drink menu or overall theme. Nightclubs rarely offer any eating options, as their core focus is on drinking and dancing. (That being said, a handful of nightclubs do offer munchies like fruit plates or french fries as tableside options for VIP clients, and many lounge and clubs even allow pizzas and other resort restaurant offerings to be ordered and delivered late-night to high-spending tables. Only in Vegas, baby!)

OK – so what’s the difference between a Lounge and an Ultra Lounge?

All up and down the Las Vegas Boulevard stretch, various lounges and ultra lounges offer up libations of the common and obscure variety to entertain the strip’s 42 million annual visitors. How are the two categories different?

  • Vibe. The distinction between the “Lounge” and “Ultra Lounge” categories is a subjective one truth be told, but most nightlife industry insiders agree it is related to the vibe that the management of a particular venue seeks to project along the spectrum of “chill” to “relaxed” to “buzzing” to “all the way turnt up.”
  • Music volume. A Lounge tends towards music of softer volume – a live music performance is not uncommon – that promotes a relaxed atmosphere and facilitates conversation among guests. An Ultra Lounge, on the other hand, typically pumps higher volume dance-friendly tunes – often provided by a live DJ – that encourage moving and grooving.
  • Layout. Again, both the Lounge and Ultra Lounge venue types project upscale auras surpassing that of regular bars and dive bars; however, Ultra Lounges want to facilitate more dancing so they typically provide wider walkways, small pockets of open space, and less space taken up by couches, tables, or other seating.

OK, so you and the missus (or the boys!) have donned your finest outfits for tonight, you’re staying in one of the best hotels – or perhaps a luxury suite, you baller? – on the Strip. You sure as hell didn’t get dressed up for nothing, and you’re on the hunt for a Vegas drinking scene with more energy and action than run-of-the-mill bar. Well Don Juan, we’ve got just the recipe for you: here are Discotech’s Top 10 best upscale bars and lounges of the high-energy variety – or “Ultra Lounges” – on the Las Vegas Strip.

1. Alibi Ultra Lounge @ Aria – $$$ – Center Strip

Inside of Alibi Lounge @ Aria, Las Vegas, Nevada

A glittering center-strip jewel rising from the desert floor, Aria is one of the largest hotels on Planet Earth: 4,004 rooms, including 568 suites and two distinct AAA Five Diamond hotel products. The state-of-the-art accommodations above complement the state-of-the-art entertainment amenities on the casino floor: Aria has arguably the best collection of upscale dining options – CATCH, Javier’s, Lemongrass, Carbone, Din Tai Fung, and Sage, to name a few – of any Strip resort, in addition to a handful of high-class venues to sit and sip fancy drinks. Their best one of these, Alibi Ultra Lounge, benefits from its coveted location within Aria: it is immediately visible from Aria’s main visitor entrance and smack in the center of the casino floor subject to heavy foot traffic passing by from all directions.

Alibi has a rich, cozy interior beautifully decorated in darker tones, and its master mixology staff – one of the best in Vegas – wows guests stopping in with a combination of premium spirits, imaginative ingredients, and exceptional service. This place is particularly crowded on weekdays when there is a big white-collar industry convention or conference in town, as Aria is a popular hotel choice among professional services employees on business travel. It is also busy on Friday or Saturday nights, especially when Jewel Nightclub – located less than a hundred feet away – has a notable performing artist drawing crowd and thus pushing spillover traffic to Alibi. That being said, most Vegas party insiders will agree that the scene at Alibi is often more fun than the scene at Jewel on any given night: the music is always top-quality and the crowd is frequently peppered with beautiful, well-dressed clientele to complement the beautiful, well-dressed libations being served at the bar and plush seating areas.

2. Clique @ Cosmopolitan$$$$ – Center Strip

Inside of Clique Lounge @ Cosmopolitan, Las Vegas, Nevada

A popular hotel choice and rendezvous point for the beautiful twentysomethings and thirtysomethings of the world since the day it opened, The Cosmopolitan continues to stand out from all other high-end resorts on the Strip by maintaining its modern style and sophistication while consistently adding new attractions. A popular playground for well-traveled and well-heeled young foreigners as well as in-the-know locals, Cosmo’s casino floor has always attracted the “cool kids” crowd with its long list of buzzy restaurant/lounge scenes and its cadre of Instagram-worthy sights. Fitting right in with this ethos in the center of Cosmo’s first floor is Clique, a jewel buried right in the middle of the resort’s seemingly endless treasure chest of luxurious entertainment options.

Clique draws curious passersby into its clutches with a steady stream of those cool kids congregating around its entrance at all hours of the night, as well as timeless radio-friendly Top 40 / hip-hop tunes coolly bumping from within its semi-drawn curtains. Once you’re inside its seductive walls, you’re held in arrest by sexy service staff, tableside mixology, and inventive craft cocktails including a wide array of shooters, champagnes, and aperitifs. Several open areas within Clique’s layout often convert to dancing hotspots as the clock strikes midnight, which makes for a great way of burning off excess energy or even just great people-watching. And if it’s just latter you’re signing up for, you can do that not just over drinks but also over variety of savory appetizers and sharable dishes from Clique’s acclaimed food menu – we recommend their signature wings, juicy sliders, delicious deep-fried Oreos… or all the above?

3. Skyfall Lounge @ Delano / Mandalay Bay – $$$ – South Strip

The Delano brand epitomized white-hued South Beach style and splendor for nearly a decade before making its way across the country to Las Vegas. This trademark splendor has been uprooted from beach to desert and painstakingly replicated in all aspects of the hotel-within-a-hotel at Mandalay Bay, including in its well-known and well-reputed rooftop ultra lounge. Located adjacent to Rivea, the James Bond-inspired Skyfall Lounge is a multi-sensory experience combining a spectacular panoramic Vegas Strip view, modern interior design, innovative dining options, artisan cocktails, and low-key sound grooves.

Although dress code is strict, the rest of Skyfall Lounge’s vibe exudes a laid-back atmosphere: a a carefree escape from the cacophony and stress of Sin City as resident DJs spin easygoing tunes to mellow you out so you can nod your head along to the eclectic beats. With clear, unobstructed 64th-floor views of the Strip from any location on the lounge floor, Skyfall Lounge can indeed get by on ambiance alone. Yet the on-staff mixologists provide another layer of elegance with an extensive and seasonally changing cocktail program and drink menu. If you want to ensure you get a seat to enjoy the views, reservations are suggested; alternatively, you can flash your Delano / Mandalay room key for no-wait entry as well as a free glass of champagne with early arrival before 8:30pm.

4. Rhumbar @ Mirage – $$ – Center Strip

Current mood: island relaxed. If this applies to you on your Vegas trip, then Rhumbar – a highly stylized cocktail and cigar/hookah lounge inspired by the cool breezes of the Caribbean – is your vibe. The spacious lime-and-coconut colored outdoor patio instantly calls to mind a tropical vacation with a frozen fruity drink in hand, only instead of a shoreline you’re feet away from the crashing waves of the bustling Las Vegas skyline. The venue has floor-to-ceiling windows that offer an unobstructed view of the lights of the Strip through the swaying palm trees of the manicured Mirage landscape.

In terms of entertainment though, Rhumbar is NOT just a day on the beach. Yes, patrons can puff stogies or shisha while sipping on the Strip’s best collection of rum cocktails. Or they can alternate their gaze between multiple big screen televisions and only-in-Vegas costumed oddities like Darth Vader and Pikachu passing through the well-trafficked Mirage lobby on their way out to Las Vegas Boulevard. However, the nighttime music format rotates between DJs, singers, and live bands and is upbeat with a decidedly Latin flair – salsa, reggaeton, bachata, Caribbean hip-hop sounds – that strongly encourages guests to mover la culita in the patio’s open spaces under the desert stars.

5. Electra Cocktail Club @ Palazzo – $$$ – North Strip

Electra Cocktail Club @ Palazzo, Las Vegas

Like Alibi at Aria and Clique at Cosmopolitan, Electra Cocktail Club at the Palazzo is a can’t-miss centerpiece on its resort casino floor. Bold and modern, Electra is the brainchild of famed mixologist Sam Ross and his partners. Traditional and abstract custom artworks adorn the space to provoke and inspire the free spirits coming to Vegas. In the evening, colorful artistic visuals unfold on Electra’s 40-foot-long high-definition electronic wall synchronized to the beats of hip-hop (for more hip hop clubs Las Vegas click here), R&b, and rock music expertly mixed by the resident DJs. The entire scene overwhelmingly encourages visitors to order and drink their libations quickly and then immediately stake out any open spaces to dance, dance, dance the night away.

Don’t gloss over the drink ordering part, however. The Electra bar menu focuses on the spirits of rum, mezcal, and agricole but also offers lighthearted slushie creations, including a peach daiquiri and a frozen take on Ross’ signature Penicillin, a smoky mix of Scotch, lemon, ginger and honey. Other offerings like the Cucumber & Elderflower Daiquiri (made with white rum, fresh lime, cucumber and elderflower) and the Disgruntled Mai Tai (made with two rums, Aperol, fresh lime, Curacao, orgeat and Underberg) are good to the last drop and worth pausing to savor prior to letting the music take control.

6. Artisan Lounge @ Artisan Hotel – $$ – North Strip

Artisan Lounge @ Artisan Hotel, Las Vegas Nevada

Swanky. That’s the one word most often used to describe the Artisan Lounge, the pristine entertainment venue inside of the Artisan Hotel. Its true location is technically classified as Vegas Strip, but it’s actually tucked away one street west of Las Vegas Boulevard on Industrial Road. Shrouded in lush vegetation on the outside, Artisan Lounge revels in its hidden gem reputation: once discovered, the candlelit venue treats its curious clients to visually stunning interior architecture, richly hued wood paneling, mirrored ceilings, plush leather couches, and gilt-framed reproductions of classic paintings from Monet, Picasso, and Da Vinci.

Popular amongst in-the-know Vegas locals and their hipster friends from California and parts beyond, Artisan Lounge offers a satisfying escape from the intensity of the Strip yet is always buzzing with enough people to feel endlessly happening. Patrons rave about the bar’s creative drink menu at reasonable prices, intimate dance floor with wide-ranging musical variety, and ultra-chill outdoor patio inviting longer conversations among friend old and new. Oh, and two huge added perks: Food is served from 6AM to 2AM, and the Artisan Lounge – not to mention the rest of the hotel – offers free Wi-Fi, so you can immediately Instagram and Snapchat the sights and sounds of your memorable time to all your jealous friends around the world.

7. Juniper Cocktail Lounge @ Park MGM – $$ – South Strip

Juniper cocktail lounge @ MGM Grand

Home to the largest collection of gin in Las Vegas, Juniper Cocktail Lounge – the new kid on the block on the Strip’s south side – takes its name from the juniper berries that produce gin. The menu features and all of the spirit’s top-shelf brands from around the world, other premium liquor brands, and a carefully curated cocktail list using house-made juices and syrups; a favorite of ours is “True to the Roots “with Spring 44 Gin, clover honey, and fresh lime and orange wedges.

Formerly the Monte Carlo Resort and Casino, the upscale Park MGM Las Vegas opened in 2018 after a multimillion-dollar renovation, providing a casual and cool atmosphere catering to younger adult travelers. The true stars of the resort are the restaurant offerings: Park MGM’s goal was to be known as a foodie haven, and with ultra-hip(ster) offerings such as Eataly and Roy Choi’s Best Friend that box has been checked. Making good on this promise has attracted mid-twenties to early-thirties clients to Park MGM in droves, which has in turn made their evening entertainment venues like Juniper Lounge active hotspots for singles to mingle. On weekend nights, a live DJ spinning radio-friendly tunes and affordable Las Vegas VIP bottle service are offered, which along with the sublime mixology from the bar ensures nostalgic millennials (and older millennial wannabes) fill up the lounge from dusk til dawn. For those of you that love that new new, Juniper Lounge is the walk in the Park that you want to take.

8. Vanderpump Cocktail Garden @ Caesars’ Palace – $$$ – Center Strip

Vanderpump Cocktail Garden @ Caesars' Palace, Las Vegas, NV

Renovated and relaunched in 2019 by British TV personality Lisa Vanderpump (“The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills”), Vanderpump Cocktail Garden is located between the Colosseum and the entrance to Forum Shops in the space previously occupied by Fizz. An immediate favorite among bachelorette parties, Vanderpump Cocktail boasts a sprawling indoor patio layout that weirdly feels outdoor, with pink-accented booths and a full bar adorned with garden decor, lantern-adorned trellises, romantic lighting, and walls and furniture showcasing Vanderpump family pictures (including numerous of her adorable canine children). The end product is a classy yet inviting Hollywood-style supper club that turn into an ultra lounge “see and be seen” scene at night, a drinking / dining / mingling destination whether you’re a superfan of the Real Housewives franchise or not.

And the L.A high life you shall toast to while in Vegas at VCG, with complex cocktails showcasing innovative takes on classics. Cocktail names are witty, such as the matcha-infused Matcha Matcha Man, paying homage to the Village People tune; the spicy Checkmate Bitch, a provocative combination of Stoli Hot vodka and Chacho aguardiente (a jalapeño-infused Colombian spirit from sugar cane) named after an unforgettable Vanderpump rant from Season 3 of the show; and the Rome is Burning, a smoked black cherry Manhattan laced with black cherry chocolate bitters, served tableside in a large smoking jar. In addition to a full appetizer and dinner menu showcasing the prodigious talents of LA’s top chefs, the exclusive Vanderpump-branded sangria and rosé will also be available to order and take with you back up to the hotel room afterparty.

9. Eastside Lounge @ Encore Hotel – $$$$ – North Strip

With its ubiquitous red and gold interior decor – lucky colors particularly to the wealthy Asian clientele that often frequent its casino floor tables – the Wynn and Encore have always been one of the most luxurious properties on the Vegas strip. In recent years, they’ve traded in their elitist vibe – without sacrificing any of the luxury – for a more high-energy fashionista cool to target those aspirational Millennials of the aughts and teens that now have money to burn in 2020. The Eastside Lounge is on the Encore casino floor at the mouth of the well-traveled walkway between the Wynn and Encore properties; for that reason, its energy and vibe always ratchets up in the hours leading up to the start of the weekend.

The upscale ambiance of Eastside Lounge is relaxed – even sleepy – during the day and afternoon, with a view of the resort’s beautiful pool area accompanying expertly crafted cocktails, wine, beer, and spirits. Starting in the late afternoon, action picks up as expert mixologists spin up more complex drinks using fresh, seasonal, and novel ingredients while live entertainment (the lounge has a piano and singer setup) regales relaxed onlookers. As dusk falls, however, Eastside takes on a whole new personality as one of the most boisterous spots on the Strip: it is the closest and thus most convenient pre-game / rendezvous point for young, well-dressed, beautiful people headed to nearby nightclubs XS and EBC At Night. If one or both of these nightclubs are open on the night you find yourself at Encore, expect the Eastside Lounge to be poppin’ from sunset until at least three in the morning.

10. Centrifuge @ MGM Grand – $$ – South Strip

Centrifuge lounge @ MGM Grand, Las Vegas, NV

Hookah lounge by day, ultra lounge by night, Centrifuge at the MGM Grand Strip side entrance is a 77-seat circular bar surrounded by a second circular bank of small-table seating for smoking and socializing.  The centerpiece of Centrifuge is a mesmerizing glow-in-the-dark installation that spins continuously while changing colors every so often, to the tune of live DJs spinning dance selections heavy on reggaeton and radio pop. To cater to the hordes of tourists traversing this central throughway, Centrifuge carries on their menu the specialty cocktails from each of MGM Grand’s signature restaurants, a well tasty fruit-infused cocktails like the Kentucky Peach (peach-infused Woodford Reserve Bourbon, peach nectar, fresh sour and ginger ale) and the Frida (strawberry pineapple-infused Patron tequila, lime and citronage).

Similar to Encore’s Eastside Lounge mentioned above, Centrifuge is quiet when the sun is up and anything but when the sun goes down… and for the exact same reason: location, location, location. The usually monstrous lines for Hakkasan Nightclub less than 50 feet away can be conveniently eyeballed from the Centrifuge bar area, which makes this lounge the optimal pre-game / rendezvous point prior to entering Hakkasan not to mention the first spot for one more drink (or eight) upon leaving the cavernous nightclub. This unavoidable crowd spillover into Centrifuge, along with its record-shaped layout allowing the bar to be accessed from all sides, makes it a most ideal drinking, people-watching and people-meeting venue.

Ultimate Guide to Planning Las Vegas Trips for Large Groups

Planning a large group trip to Las Vegas? Reach us directly at +1 (415) 735-6716 or info@discotech.me. You can also reach us on Whatsapp at +1-323-405-8824.

Your absolute circus of a group Zoom chat has just wrapped up, and the powers-that-be have just drawn the figurative “X” on your forehead. All eyes are on you: you’ve just been delegated to plan your company’s “social agenda” (read: non-work activities) for its upcoming business conference in Vegas. It’s a pretty big group – exact number unknown as of yet, but as of right now it’s somewhere between 50 and 500 – and it’s an eclectic mix of veterans and first-timers. It’s a tall order for sure, and your bosses want it to go off without a hitch AND more importantly within the set budget. Your ears are hot and beads of sweat begin to form and run down your slightly bewildered face; if it had been a literal “X” drawn on your forehead, that magic marker would surely be smudged by now.

We’ve also prepared several case studies on events we’ve helped plan. Feel free to skip directly to the studies to see the real world application of everything mentioned below:

Planning a Vegas Trip for Large Groups With a Budget

Why is planning Vegas for large groups so difficult?

  • Dinner reservations – limited number of places that can seat large groups, people have different cuisine preferences
  • Hotel rooms / suites – need to decide on location, negotiate a discount deal, and make sure that it can accommodate the group within budget
  • Activities – people have different preferences, not all activities can accomodate large groups
  • Nightclubs / pool parties – getting 10 people into Vegas hip hop night clubs can be a huge headache – getting 50+ would be a nightmare without a host.

You know you’re not totally a lost puppy – you’ve partied in Vegas many times in the past in smaller groups, and you’ve got numerous friends in high and low places who are willing to offer sound and not-so-sound recommendations – but of course you (and your budget-conscious bosses) certainly wouldn’t mind having a true professional to guide you.  You know, someone who can take all those inputs (group size, music preferences, nightclub/pool party, budget, location, food preferences, etc) and spit out your perfect itinerary – turning you into the hero of the group.

Enter Discotech – your ultimate solution for lining up your big plans. We’ve built our reputation helping THOUSANDS of satisfied clients around the world with their standard small group party needs.

  • We’ve been featured on BBC Travel and we are also highly reviewed on Yelp! and in both the App Store and Google Play.
  • 6+ years experience in the Vegas nightlife game, we’ve also successfully serviced dozens of corporate entities and large groups of 50 or more clients.
  • What we know from our experience is this: like Sin City itself, large group planning is NOT for the lazy nor for the faint of heart.

Failure to plan ahead – even if it’s just days or hours ahead – is one of the biggest mistakes that we see countless groups make on a weekly basis, and it inevitably results in financial and logistical headaches – and embarrassing moments at the velvet ropes of entry – that could easily have been avoided.

There IS a tried-and-true method to the madness – a method which our Discotech platform and customer service team has down to a step-by-step science, along with the critically important door connections for pull off your group’s custom itinerary in line with your discerning standards. Enough talk, shepherd boy (or girl): let’s delve into what you and your flock of sheep need to know about the lay of the land.

Where do large groups stay in Vegas – get discounted hotel rates

Penthouse suite at Delano

They say a stitch in time saves nine, and the pre-arrival planning is the part of the process that requires THE MOST attention to detail.

  • Remember the 100-Day Rule: to take advantage of favorable pricing for flights, hotels, shows, nightclubs, and anything else related to Vegas that requires tickets or reservations, you MUST start planning the festivities no less than 3-4 months in advance of your planned arrival date.
  • The larger the group, the more advance planning is required to ensure “convenient inventory” on hand – by that, we mean things like seats on the same flight or hotel room blocks in the same resort and perhaps (fingers crossed) even in the same resort tower or on the same floor.
  • If your large group is around 100 guests or so, then 100 days – 4 months – out is the latest we would recommend to lock in reservations.
  • For a 200-500 person group we would recommend at least 6 months of lead time; for any group above 500 persons, we strongly advise you to make your initial reservation inquiries 12-18 months in advance.
  • The earlier you start looking into things, the more options and wiggle room your suppliers in Vegas have, and thus the more willing they are to work with you to provide custom solutions and group discount rates.

Good news for you: Discotech and its local partners hold longstanding affiliate agreements with every major hotel group operating in Las Vegas and can get you access to lowest room rates available as well as other amenities. Some of the itinerary items we can help you line up are as follows:

  • Discounts on individual hotel rooms & hotel suites
  • Discounted hotel blocks for groups
  • Exclusive suite rental
  • Premium transportation for groups – party buses / limos
  • Special Request Amenities (e.g. beauty packages, in-room spa/massage treatments)

If your big group does not have the means of charging all planning expenses to one central account, then have its members divvy up into smaller pods of 4-6 in order to book hotel rooms and coordinate sharing expenses.  Also, if you’re booking too late in the game to get an entire block of rooms within your preferred, then pick a region of the strip – North, Center, or South – and make sure everyone coordinates to stay in a hotel in that area.

Where To Work – Company Events, Meetings, etc

Businesspeople Enjoying Drinks

If you and your big group are coming to town on business and looking to close big deals, then you might develop a need to host side meetings away from the main conference agenda and locations. These extracurricular gatherings while in Vegas can be internal team-building or team morale events, or they can be client-facing with the goal of winning new accounts or preserving standing relationships. Discotech has the tools and expertise to assist you with lining up venues that best fit your large-scale meeting needs, from hosting an exclusive invite-only company event at one of the hottest nightclubs in the world to a arranging a low-key recognition ceremony in the quiet private back room of one of the best sushi restaurants on the Strip. More specifically, we can assist with planning the following elements:

  • Meeting & Event Planning
  • Meeting Space Reservations
  • Team Building Experiences
  • Group Dining Reservations & Kitchen Tours
  • Corporate Branding Events
  • Training Modules / Learning Events
  • Executive & Corporate Golf Packages

And one more thing: even if your large group’s business in Vegas for the weekend is not so “businesslike” – in other words, strictly of a recreational nature rather than commercial – Discotech can still be of assistance. Our customer service support team can offer expert guidance on the ways and means of uniting your group for a few hours for whatever common purpose your group holds, and before its members scatter to the wind for Vegas to chew them up and spit them out in a few days.

Large Group Events that Discotech Has Helped Facilitate:

  • Fraternity/sorority Vegas Trip: Why not throw together a Friday afternoon Welcome-to-Vegas mixer? A group beer pong tournament at O’Sheas is the perfect social activity to catch up with the homies and get the ball rolling (pun intended) on a wild weekend.
  • Grad school / Business school Vegas trip: C’mon, we know you went to graduate school for the “networking” and not for the academics. Have your social chair line up the group’s private networking event in a giant luxury suite overlooking the Strip. Or, if your group is too large to fit in one or two suites you can rent out deck space at one of the best resort pools on the Strip and have your open-bar soiree in the open air under the stars.
  • Family reunion: This one’s an easy call. Family always revolves around food, so reserve a block of adjacent tables for your clan at one of the best-bang-for-your-buck buffets in the city. Our favorites for the more budget-conscious are the ones at Flamingo, The Orleans, and Rio. Aunt Karen and Grandma Ruth will definitely approve.
  • Corporate Outings: Whether you’re looking to plan a team building Vegas trip for high achievers, an end of summer get away for your interns, or taking some clients out for a night on the town, we’ve got you covered!
  • Class reunions: We’ve helped plan a reunion for over 80 people – including hotel rooms, dinners, discounted tickets, free group guest list, and a block of 6 tables at Marquee Nightclub.
  • Bachelor/Bachelorette Parties: A Vegas staple, stag / hen parties are our bread and butter. We’ll help you make sure your bachelor / bachelorette is sent off in style. We can help with hotels, activities,
  • Convention after party: In town for a convention and looking to impress clients or after party with your coworkers? Hit us up and we’d be happy to set things up for you!
  • Wedding weekend: Yes, Discotech could assist you with reserving a last-minute wedding chapel if your nuptials are awash in spontaneity. And yes, we’ve got the hookups to some of the coolest spaces in Vegas for a post-ceremony reception. However, we’re obviously more adept at planning the wedding afterparty. Which gives us the perfect segue into the next step….

What do Large Groups Do in Vegas? – Vegas Activities + Nightclubs

Ah, now THIS is our bread-and-butter. Big groups move like a big elephant, and when you’re in a fast-paced city like Vegas with only a handful of days to make magic happen you want to make damn well sure that the elephant is at least turned in the right direction before it starts to lurch forward.

You and your crew are in luck: Discotech handles this sort of thing on a daily basis, AND we’ve got tons of hands-on experience managing large groups. You see, not only have we ridden this elephant before, we’ve taught him how to stand on the ball on one leg while shooting water out of its trunk! Grabbing the reins on the party plans for a 500-person behemoth is second nature to us – think of Discotech as the ringmaster, here for your entertainment and to guide you through the Vegas circus. Here’s how we can help:

  • Free or Discounted Club Guest Lists (free or discounted admission, plus dedicated private line with no wait and expedited entry for large groups)
  • Discounted Club Tickets (discounts offered for large groups, dedicated private line + host to ensure that you get in)
  • Nightclub & Pool Party Club Crawls (discounts offered for large groups, party host + party bus transportation provided)
  • Nightclub & Dayclub / Pool Party Bottle Service packages (preferred location, group discounts, booking multiple VIP tables together)
  • Concert, Festival, or Show Tickets, Suites, and VIP Seating (discounts offered for large groups)
  • Sporting Events Tickets, Suites, and VIP Seating (discounts offered for large groups)
  • Unique Excursions & Activities (e.g. exotic car racing, top golf, gun shooting, helicopter tours, day trips to Grand Canyon or Hoover Dam)

Not only can we help you lock down all your plans in advance and custom tailor a party plan for your group size and budget, but we will also provide a host on the ground to make sure your experience goes smoothly – everyone gets in quickly, all your bottles arrive, you aren’t over charged, etc.

In conclusion: Discotech is your subject matter expert for planning your next group visit to Vegas. Whether you’re coming into town for business or pleasure, hunting or grazing, a large flock or a just a handful of wayward strays, we are here to “rein in the elephant” and make sure everyone in your group stays, works, and plays like world-class animals. Step right up, folks… the circus is coming to town!

Top 10 Best Bars on the Las Vegas Strip

The one thing that Las Vegas has no shortage of is laid-back places to get your drink on. No matter your price point, music preference, ethnic background, nationality or age, someone on The Strip is ready and willing to meet you at your idea of fun and hand you a stiff drink, in exchange for your dignity and your hard-earned moolah. Most of the time, that drink also comes with a warm smile, a welcoming ear, and witty chatter that may eventually lead to a memorable Sin City story. All up and down the Las Vegas Boulevard stretch, various bars offer up libations of the common and obscure variety to entertain the strip’s 42 million annual visitors. We’re not talking dayclubs or hip hop nightclubs, concert venues, or even fancy lounges. No sir or ma’am, we’re getting straight down to business here: you’re sober and thirsty, and Vegas has got your cure. Steel your heart and your liver, here are Discotech’s Top 10 best bars on the Las Vegas Strip.

1. Tilted Kilt @ the LINQ Promenade – $ – Center Strip

Kilt Girls bartenders @ Tilted Kilt Las Vegas

Repeat after me: Tilted Kilt Las Vegas is THE BEST sports bar on the Las Vegas Strip. There is zero hyperbole in this claim, as TKLV checks all the boxes off any list a customer could wish for from both a local sports bar back home and a fun-loving pub while on a hard-earned vacation. Great location? Check. (Stumbling distance from any Strip resort.) Theme party with sexy Vegas kitsch? Check. (Bawdy Scottish pub meets naughty schoolgirl fantasy.) Reasonably priced drinks? Check. (Some of the cheapest on the Strip, surprisingly.) Attentive, very easy-on-the-eyes service staff? Check. (See above pics… C’mon man, it’s Vegas!!!) Sports on every TV? Check. (Forty large plasma TVs and two extra-large projectors always tuned to live action, plus the Holy Grail: friendly floor managers that move quickly to fulfill any channel change requests.) Mouth-watering bar food? Check. (World-class buffalo wings, “Big Arse” Burgers, flatbread pizzas, loaded tater tots… the list goes on.) Turnt up parties on big occasions like St Patrick’s Day, Halloween, and NFL Playoffs / Super Bowl? Check.

Now a regional chain with franchises across Southern California, “The Kilt” as Vegas locals affectionally call it originally launched at the Rio Hotel & Casino in 2003 before moving to its current 9,000 square-foot two-story location at the LINQ Promenade in 2014. Everything about the venue screams “Touristy!” and yes, they purposely cater to the thousands of out-of-towners they see daily. However, you’d also be shocked at just how many locals are seated at Tilted Kilt’s bar on any given night, many of whom are hard-working salt-of-the-earth service industry professionals coming from or headed to another work shift on the Strip. This is what makes TKLV a truly special place: out of all the aforementioned boxes it already checks, it also checks the “friendly neighborhood bar” box where visitors and locals mingle, interact, root on their teams, and share light-hearted banter and stories over cold suds and strong spirits. Yes, Vegas has a handful of these all-around superstar bars spread out around town, just not any right on the Strip like this one. Born and raised in Sin City, The Kilt is a very much a Wolf of a local bar dressed in tourist Sheep’s clothing… and as their company tagline goes, “A cold beer never looked so good.”

2. The Chandelier @ Cosmopolitan$$$$ – Center Strip

A hotel popular with well-traveled and well-heeled young foreigners as well as in-the-know locals, Cosmo has always attracted the cool kids crowd with its long list of buzzy restaurant/lounge scenes and its cadre of Instagram-worthy sights. Fitting right in with this ethos in the center of Cosmo’s first – and second! – floor is the glistening Chandelier Bar, arguably the crown jewel in the resort’s seemingly endless treasure chest of luxurious entertainment options.

Really though, nothing says Las Vegas like a multi-floor bar housed within a two-million piece crystal chandelier. Each level of the The Chandelier has its own vibe, but the second level is where first-timers belong: here the mixologists – some of the most knowledgable and highly skilled in the world – whip up otherworldly libations from a long list of foams, tinctures, purees, garnishes, and hard-to-find spirits. (The Verbana is our favorite – a must-try on your next visit.) The cocktails here are definitely not cheap, but they are artistic masterpieces that you’ll talk about with friends back home for months after your Vegas vacation. The upscale ambiance here makes it perfect for an after-conference business meeting, a first date rendezvous, or nightclub pregame people-watching and friends-making. So press and steam your best suit or cocktail dress – although the vibe is always relaxed, upscale cocktail attire is strongly encouraged inside the Chandelier – and brace yourself for an unforgettable bar night in Vegas.

3. Beerhaus @ The Park Vegas / T-Mobile Arena – $$ – North Strip

inside of Beerhaus at The Park Vegas, Las Vegas

Home to the NHL’s Vegas Golden Knights, semi-annual UFC megafights, and the biggest music acts of any genre swinging through Sin City – Metallica, Bruno Mars, Elton John, George Strait, J-Lo, and Ariana Grande are some of the megastars that have graced its stage – the 20,000-seat capacity T-Mobile Arena, built in 2016, is an ultra-modern gathering place. To complement the hundreds of entertainment dates scheduled at the arena annually – and also to draw tourists to the area on the few nights the arena is dark – the stadium grounds are bordered by The Park Vegas, an open-air cobblestone footpath lined with casual restaurants and bars that are perfect for T-Mobile pre-partying… and post-partying, since Vegas never sleeps duh.

The best of the bars in the bunch is Beerhaus, an uber-fresh take on the German beer hall concept that features craft beer and made-to-order high-end bar grub favorites – burgers, ribs, hot dogs, brats, soft pretzels, wings, tater tots etc. – using hormone-free meat and locally sourced produce. On any sports nights at the stadium, the place is packed more than two hours in advance and one hour after; even if you don’t have tickets to T-Mobile, Beerhaus is perfect for getting together with friends and watching your teams on one of the pristine flatscreens while taking periodic breaks to talk smack over a game of ping pong, Connect Four, or cornhole under the patio misters.

4. Gilley’s Saloon @ Treasure Island – $ – North Strip

Gilley's Girls cowgirl bartenders @ Gilley's Saloon Las Vegas, Nevada

It’s all country music all the time at Gilley’s Saloon, but that singular focus doesn’t stop this wild watering hole from being one of the best live music venues in Las Vegas of any musical genre. The Gilley’s recipe for fun is tried and true: take the spirited saloons of the Old West frontier days, add a dash of the sexy and fast-paced excitement of Las Vegas Strip, bring to a steady boil with non-stop country music heat, and pour on gallons of whiskey, moonshine, and Bud Light for a steady, long-lasting party.

Boots, buckles, and denim are common décor among visitors – especially on Vegas Locals Night Mondays where $2 drinks are served up – but the friendly barkeeps extend warm hospitality to the regular dressed folks as well. In fact, this place is the perfect spot for the country-curious, meaning those city slicker friends of yours who like that Blake Shelton, Dan & Shay, or Old Dominion song on the radio but are open to line dancing lessons (they offer them several nights a week), munching on Texas BBQ (they have quick-serve countertops), and being served cheap drinks by cute cowgirls while going deeper down the country music rabbit hole. Up-and-coming country bands perform live at Gilley’s 3-4 nights a week, and every so often a country music superstar in Vegas for a quick turn pops in unannounced for an intimate set.

5. Brooklyn Bowl @ the LINQ Promenade – $$ – Center Strip

bar area at Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas

Located on the LINQ Promenade just steps away from the High Roller Ferris wheel, Brooklyn Bowl is an ultra-hip upscale bowling alley, a well-loved restaurant by Vegas locals (their Blue Ribbon fried chicken is some of the best in the city), and a concert venue showcasing heavyweight names in reggae, alt-rock, and other lightweight music genres that have rabid followings. But its expansive bar area at the front of the spacious venue also shines as one of the best and most underrated drink stops in Vegas.

The craft beer selection showcases the best of East Coast and West Coast microbrews and rotates frequently, and perhaps even better than the beer is their bar food menu which offers high-end creative takes on the classics. Insiders tip: if you’ve got concert tickets, we highly recommend you come for Happy Hour (Mon-Fri, 5-7pm) and then stay for the concert afterward to avoid long waits in line. Except on the 1-2 times a month a major artist drops in for a more intimate show, Brooklyn Bowl is one of the more affordable ways to drink, eat, and catch live music on the Strip and thus always draws a crowd.

6. Mandarin Bar @ Mandarin Oriental – $$$$ – Center Strip

Vegas locals affectionately call this spot the “Corner Bar” for its location tucked away on the 23rd floor of the Mandarin Oriental, but moreso as a clever tongue-in-cheek nickname evoking a shoddy dive when it’s actually one of the fanciest and prettiest environments for a cocktail in all of Vegas. The richly decorated space is always quiet enough for one-on-one conversations, whether you’re celebrating a romantic milestone occasion with your significant other or a local looking to entertain an important out-of-town business client in a memorable way. It’s not about any crowd at Mandarin Bar, it’s really all about the views: through floor-to-ceiling glass, stunning skyline scenery in all directions enchants visitors and entices them to indulge in the high life.

And the high life you shall have, with complex cocktails showcasing innovative takes on classics punctuated with unconventional and hard-to-find ingredients such as smoked mandarin orange tea syrup. For example, their Mandarin Martini muddles oranges with fresh pineapple and lime juices, Hendricks gin, Aperol and simple syrup. Additionally, they carry a slew of original craft cocktails to ensure that your sensory experience of taste is on par with the delicious views your eyes are taking in at the top. Our favorites: Southern Punch, which is toasted pecan-infused whiskey, white rum, mandarin, lime, passion fruit and basil syrup, and Golden Knights, an ode to the home team playing a few doors down in the form of Toki Suntory whiskey, Sip Smith gin, Yellow Chartreuse and ginger syrup. Bottom’s up, from the top of Vegas!

7. PBR Rock Bar @ Planet Hollywood – $$ – Center Strip

Inside of PBR Rock Bar with mechanical bull

Deep in the heart of Tex… – ahem, Vegas – is another rodeo-themed gem of a drinking post. Located on the highly trafficked Strip side of Planet Hollywood’s famed Miracle Mile Shops, PBR Rock Bar & Grill is a Professional Bull Riders affiliated mega-venue that truly epitomizes the phrase “a little bit country, a little bit rock ‘n’ roll.” Rock Bar is a sprawling, modern, 16,800 square-foot backyard barbecue featuring two DJ booths, hundreds of big screen TVs lining the bar, and a massive hydraulic mechanical bull at its center, mounted and ridden in constant rotation by buxom staff and ballsy tourists.

The kitchen staff at PBR puts in big work with big plates and big flavors that truly capture the taste of the American Heartland: Chicken & Waffles, Smoked Brisket, BBQ Pork Ribs, and even secret recipes such as the famed Dorito Mac & Cheese. But as good as the food is here, it decidedly takes a backseat to the dranks. Rock Bar’s most memorable feature is its expansive outdoor drinking patio – cooling mist in the summer, heat lamps in the winter – that spills out onto the most coveted and most highly traversed real estate on Las Vegas Boulevard. The patio is packed nearly all times of the year and at all times of the day, the steady reservations traffic endlessly bolstered by walk-ups seeking to take advantage of PBR’s awesome drink specials to quench their thirst at its specialty frozen drink bar or its three other full-service bars. Locals normally shy away from Rock Bar as this is a true tourist trap, but that doesn’t make it any less fun a time for the visitors who dismount from their saddles and mosey on in. Cowboy Up!

8. Beer Park @ Paris – $$ – Center Strip

So much for creative naming. Beer Park is designed with the goal of giving tourists a no-frills slice of Americana, but with all the frills of Vegas, baby, Vegas. The open-air entertainment venue, of which American mega-brand Anheuser-Busch is a strategic investor, puts forth a nostalgia-inducing atmosphere that mixes the feel of a classic baseball stadium with the communal charm of a suburbia park with all of the glorious food and drink favorites each has to offer. Similar to the Vegas Strip itself, this brand-new space was designed to bring people from all over the world together.

Inside Beer Park there is a 10,000-square-foot upscale “living room” foyer with parlor-style furniture seating arranged in circles to encourage meeting new people; outside there are Oktoberfest-style communal picnic tables for communal drinking and a grassy lawn to challenge strangers in friendly classic bar games like giant Jenga, Skee-Ball, Pop-A-Shot, darts, and billiards. But on top of all of these perks, Beer Park totally understands – and focuses on – sports as the great global unifier: it is one of just a few spots in Las Vegas to offer onsite wagering outside of a sportsbook, and gargantuan towers on each side of the main bar display multiple high-definition televisions that are ideal for watching the biggest sports matches of the day whether you’re a longtime die-hard or a new “fan” holding a $20 wager in hand.

9. Nine Fine Irishmen @ MGM Grand – $ – South Strip

crowded scene at Nine Fine Irishmen, Las Vegas

One of the city’s best Irish pubs, Nine Fine Irishmen was designed and built by Ireland’s top craftsmen and shipped piece by piece to Las Vegas. 9Fine brings the charms of the Emerald Isle to Las Vegas in other ways as well: food, spirits, camaraderie, and of course music. Your favorite Irish dishes – the ones you wolf down only on St. Patrick’s Day – are on the lunch and dinner menu perennially; an impressive variety of Irish beers and drinks will allow you expand your horizons past Guinness and Jameson. Happy Hour runs from Monday-Friday from 2-5 pm; While the restaurant closes at 11pm, the bar stays open until 3am (which makes it the most convenient pre-game / rendezvous point for groups headed to nearby Hakkasan Nightclub).

Once the alcohol starts flowing at Nine Fine Irishmen, the live music entertainment takes the stage to keep the crowd’s toes tapping. In particular, the energy reaches crescendo levels in the evening around 9:30-10pm, when the house band bangs out a mix of traditional Irish music, wild electric jigs and reels, and classic sing-along songs. Granted, the atmosphere here can get a bit rowdy and dodgy, especially during big soccer matches when 9Fine takes on the feel and atomsphere of an edgy Euro-style sports pub. That being said, getting tipsy and creating your own live performances by singing amateur karaoke at the top of your lungs is strongly encouraged here. For that reason, it’s impossible to leave Nine Fine Irishmen off any list of great Vegas bars. Erin Go Bragh!

10. Parasol Up @ Encore Hotel – $$$$ – North Strip

Parasol Up Casino Bar @ the Wynn Las Vegas

With its ubiquitous red and gold interior decor – lucky colors particularly to the wealthy Asian clientele that often frequent its casino floor tables – the Wynn and Encore have always been one of the most luxurious properties on the Vegas strip. In recent years, they’ve traded in their elitist vibe – without sacrificing any of the luxury – for a more high-energy fashionista cool to target those aspirational Millennials of the aughts and teens that now have money to burn in 2020. The Parasol Up bar on the casino floor next to check-in is usually the first watering hole at the resort to greet these wide-eyed, ready-to-rock visitors; for that reason, its energy and vibe is always running high in the hours leading up to the start of the weekend.

At Parasol Up, Wynn/Encore literally and figuratively rolls out the red carpet to greet you with great service, expertly made cocktails, scenic views of the waterfall and blossom-filled atrium… and of course those colorful parasols suspended from the ceiling to remind you that it’s Vegas and you’re not in Kansas anymore, Toto. Their signature drinks will having you seeing red as well: the Boysenberry Delight, featuring a boysenberry vodka exclusive to the resort, and the popular berry-topped Sinatra Smash. Parasol Up is a ideal group meeting point and classy prelude to the resort’s big draw for the hipper, younger set: their day and night venues that continue to showcase the hottest musical talent in the world including The Chainsmokers, Drake, and Diplo.

Evening concert in Las Vegas, Nevada

Top 10 Best Live Music Venues on the Las Vegas Strip

There is no shortage of live music to be found on the Las Vegas Strip. Cavernous, state-of-the-art venues with naming rights granted to well-heeled corporate sponsors host concerts for the biggest music artists in town, while all up and down the Las Vegas Boulevard stretch various lounges, bars, restaurants, and street performers offer up enticing song and instrument to entertain the strip’s 42 million annual visitors. Yes, the dayclubs and nightclubs of Vegas also do offer showstopping live performance spectacles featuring the best and brightest contemporary hip-hop night clubs and EDM in Las Vegas. However, if your musical tastes are less mainstream and more niche – think rock, blues, country, reggae, classical, or pop of yesteryear – and your party vibe more chill, then you’ll want to ditch the dance floors for comfy chairs, in-seat drinks, and great sight lines while watching your favorite artists perform live. And now, for some music to your ears, we present Discotech’s Top 10 best live music venues – big and small – on the Las Vegas Strip.

1. Brooklyn Bowl @ the LINQ Promenade – $$ – Center Strip

Packed house for concert at Brooklyn Bowl, Las Vegas

Located on the LINQ Promenade just steps away from the High Roller Ferris wheel, Brooklyn Bowl is an ultra-hip upscale bowling alley and also a well-loved restaurant by Vegas locals (their Blue Ribbon fried chicken is some of the best in the city). But where it really shines is as a concert venue showcasing heavyweight names in reggae, alt-rock, and other lightweight music genres that have rabid followings. Concerts here are standing-room only, but guests can also reserve VIP sections to the left of the stage which come with leather sofas, food/beverage table service, and use of the bowling lanes in between music acts (or even during, if you’re not a fan). Except on the 1-2 times a month a major artist drops in for a more intimate show, Brooklyn Bowl is one of the more affordable ways to catch live music on the Strip and thus always draws a crowd.

2. T-Mobile Arena$$$ – South Strip

evening concert at T-Mobile Arena

Home to the NHL’s Vegas Golden Knights and semi-annual UFC megafights, T-Mobile Arena is an ultra-modern gathering place (construction finished in 2016) that boasts a seating capacity of 20,000. It hosts the biggest music acts of any genre swinging through Sin City: Metallica, Bruno Mars, Elton John, George Strait, J-Lo, and Ariana Grande are just some of the megastars that have played the stage.

From a concertgoer perspective, the sight lines, acoustics, and lighting/pyrotechnics are what you would expect – A++ grade – and the venue has all the amenities and trappings of any of the big-city arenas on the back of your favorite band’s “World Tour” t-shirt. It even has its own upscale lounge – Hyde T-Mobile, run by the SLS Group of Hollywood and South Beach fame – which offers wonderful birds-eye views of the arena and VIP extras like bottle service and gourmet food. Oh, and did we mention that the venue is surrounded by The Park Vegas, an open-air street lined with casual restaurants and bars that are perfect for pre-partying? (And post-partying, since Vegas never sleeps duh.) There’s no intimacy to T-Mobile Arena: it’s new, it’s big, it’s corporate, and despite being flashy it’s borderline soulless. But hey, even if you have a soft spot for betting on those underdogs in Vegas, every once in awhile you should spend easy money to ride the big-dog favorite.

3. Rose.Rabbit.Lie. @ Cosmopolitan – $$$$ – Center Strip

Evening dinner show at Rose.Rabbit.Lie

A popular hotel choice and rendezvous point for the beautiful twentysomethings and thirtysomethings of the world since the day it opened, The Cosmopolitan continues to stand out from all other high-end resorts on the Strip by maintaining its modern style and sophistication while consistently adding new attractions. Rose.Rabbit.Lie. is a singular jewel in Cosmo’s treasure chest: an unpredictable and unforgettable amalgamation of theater, club, restaurant, and bar.

This modern supper club carries an exquisite and frequently rotating fine dining menu; dinner with a special date is highly recommended, but if your budget is more modest you can post up at the bar to enjoy a hand-crafted cocktail with the show. We can’t really describe the unusual type of entertainment you might see on any night, other than that live music and risque wardrobes will abound. Nor would we want to spoil the surprises in store for you, which you’ll talk about with friends back home for months after your Vegas vacation. So press and steam your best suit or cocktail dress – upscale cocktail attire is required here – and brace yourself for one wild night in Vegas.

5. Zappos Theater @ Planet Hollywood – $$$ – Center Strip

evening concert at Zappos Theater

The current version of Zappos Theater received an extensive facelift and new identity in 2000 after decades as the Aladdin Theater for the Performing Arts in the old Aladdin Hotel. Its current Planet Hollywood proprietors – backed by the same team of rich and famous LA investors including Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis, Demi Moore, and Whoopi Goldberg that helped replace Aladdin with the PH resort over a decade ago – modernized the theater’s appearance and amenities, which in turn has attracted bigger-name music artists and higher-spending customers.

One-third the size of T-Mobile Arena, the 7,000-seat Zappos offers concertgoers VIP tables with bottle service (including a free bottle of Moet Champagne), flatscreen TVs displaying multiple stage angles, top-of-the-line acoustics that crank out professional-grade vocal and background sound, and even a post-show artist meet-and-greet (for an additional cost, of course). Past resident performers at Zappos include Christina Aguilera, Gwen Stefani, and Def Leppard. Protip: it’s one of the few venues where parking is free, as it is located in the middle of Planet Hollywood’s Miracle Mile Shops which provides this nice perk to draw shoppers to the property.

Upcoming events at Zappos Theatre

6. The Colosseum @ Caesars’ Palace – $$$$ – Center Strip

Colosseum live concert venue at Caesars' Palace

Originally created for music icon Celine Dion’s much-hyped “A New Day…” residency in 2003, The Colosseum at Caesars Palace has hosted almost 2,500 events over its lifetime. A multimillion-dollar renovation on the venue while painstakingly preserving its iconic, luxurious ethos was recently completed in September 2019. Upgrades include a new state-of-the-art sound system, a ginormous high-definition LED video wall, refurbished seat cushioning to enhance guest comfort, modernized moving light fixtures, and enhanced lobby bars and merchandise sales kiosks. Trust us on this: if The Colosseum – new and improved, top of the line, shiny AF – is good enough for fussy mega-divas like Celine Dion, Elton John, and Mariah Carey, then it will be plenty good enough for you, and well worth your time and money.

Closest nightclub to The Colosseum: Omnia (in resort on first floor)

7. The Chelsea @ Cosmopolitan – $$$ – Center Strip

Concert at Chelsea at the Cosmopolitan

A hotel popular with well-traveled and well-heeled young foreigners as well as in-the-know locals, Cosmo has always attracted the cool kids crowd with its buzzy restaurant/lounge scenes and its cadre of Instagram-worthy installations. Fitting right in with this ethos, The Chelsea has hosted well-known artists over the years – Imagine Dragons performed on NYE 2019 – yet their sweet spot remains either up-and-coming acts just starting to get notoriety, or once-famous acts that still retain a strong cult following (e.g. Foster the People, Alice Cooper, Foreigner, Lenny Kravitz, Nas).

Rustic brickwork adorning the walls, quirky on-stage props and sculptures, and a vintage lobby bar are can’t-miss aesthetics for music lovers; the Cosmopolitan high-lifer will surely be drawn to the marvelous grand staircase and sparkling modern architecture on the walk up to his/her luxurious VIP gallery boxes. A more intimate venue with a capacity of just 2,000, The Chelsea consistently carries elevated demand for its upcoming shows – general admission tickets are standing-room only, and mid-priced assigned seating sections often sell out quickly, so plan ahead accordingly.

8. Park Theater @ Park MGM – $$$ – South Strip

park mgm las vegas at dusk

MGM Resorts is one of the founding fathers of live music entertainment in Vegas. Barbra Streisand – just a catchy hook for the EDM generation but the Adele of the Baby Boomer generation, ask your parents! – was the inaugural performer for MGM’s now-legendary Grand Garden Arena on New Year’s Eve 1994. The legacy of great entertainers continues twenty-six years later with MGM’s newest concert venue at its newest Strip resort. Formerly the Monte Carlo Resort and Casino, the upscale Park MGM Las Vegas opened in 2018 after a multimillion-dollar renovation, providing a casual and cool atmosphere catering to younger travelers (mid-twenties to early-thirties).

Its cozy 5,200-seat Park Theater provides intimate and immersive views and experiences that resonate with younger clientele; enhancing the audio and visual spectacle are a 140-foot wide stage, a 240-foot wide projection surface with projection mapping technology, and 9 gargantuan HD / 4K Projectors. The venue also features 7 separate bars and terraces with stunning views of the Las Vegas Strip, The Park, and T-Mobile Arena and as an added bonus is a short walk from the foodie haven that is Park MGM, where ultra-hip(ster) offerings such as Eataly and Roy Choi’s Best Friend are must try nosh spots post-concert. So make those plans today to go gaga for Lady Gaga or turn back time with Cher: a walk in the Park Theater is as refreshing and as stress-free as… a walk in the park.

Evening concert at House of Blues, Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas

Staying ever true to its Southern Hospitality theme across all of its worldwide locations, the House of Blues unveils for its Las Vegas version the intimate aura of an upscale Bourbon Street boogie. The stage and the music hall are the centerpiece of every HOB layout including this one; the area directly in front of the stage is first-come first-serve and standing-room only. Colorfully bold Mardi Gras vibes emanate from state-of-the-art audio/visual technology within an environment carefully crafted with the goal of bringing fans and the artists they love closer together. It’s a great venue for guitar-heavy musical genres; rock legend Carlos Santana loves playing here and visits several times a year to perform for swooning sold-out crowds. One of the most unique live music experiences in Vegas is the long-running House of Blues Sunday Gospel Brunch, where guests are treated to soulful performances of Gospel / R&B music while enjoying mimosas and a scrumptious Southern-style brunch buffet.

Top 10 Best Pools on the Las Vegas Strip (Non-Dayclub)

The popularity of Las Vegas as a summer tourist destination skyrocketed in the early 2000s with a dedicated push by the Strip’s powers-that-be to bring trillions of gallons of chlorinated water to the desert. Nowadays, with a high-quality refreshing pool on every resort’s list of entertainment offerings, it’s more difficult to identify which ones are worth your precious time to visit.

Sure, we understand: even though you’re in the mood to get wet, lounge about, and have a few drinks, the wildest dayclubs and pool parties in Vegas may not be what you are looking for. Fear not weary traveler, there are some magnificent Vegas pools that stand out above the rest: sparkling desert oases (or is it oasises?) that will provide you the ultra-relaxed lounge vibe you desire in the central location you want – right smack dab on The Strip. Here is our list of the Top 10 best chill pools (the non-party pools) in Vegas for you to chill out, get your tan on, and beat the heat.

1) Wynn / Encore – Wynn Pool – $$$$ – South Strip

With its ubiquitous gold-accented interior decor, the Wynn/ Encore resort has always been one of the most luxurious properties on the Vegas Strip. In recent years, they’ve traded in their elitist vibe – without sacrificing any of the luxury – for a more high-energy fashionista cool to target those aspirational Millennials of the aughts and teens who now have money to burn in 2020. While the big draw for the hipper, somewhat younger set remains this resort’s party venues – some of the best in the world for nearly a decade running – their non-party pools are equally world-class, exuding quiet glamour and peaceful serenity. Impossibly beautiful service staff waits on you while relax atop supple couches and loungers, pausing to dive into the refreshing waters and touch the vibrant painted butterflies that grace the pool floor. What are you waiting for – you deserve the best, right?

2) Caesars’ Palace – Garden of the Gods – $$$ – Center Strip

caesars pool las vegas

The casino resort that defined Las Vegas luxury for baby boomers was re-introduced to and lionized by the 40-and-under set via the 2009 smash-hit movie “The Hangover.” A decade later, Caesars’ Palace continues to be a must-visit resort on the Strip, and its Garden of the Gods pool oasis – one of the best-named things of any thing in Vegas – is a big reason why. The smaller pools that make up the complex – Apollo, Fortuna, Jupiter, Neptune, Temple, Venus – are named after Roman mythological gods, and each has its own clever primary purpose (e.g. Apollo is for sunbathing, Venus is an adults-only topless pool). With ornate fountains and statues strewn about the pool deck, The Garden of the Gods also provides one of the most Instagram-worthy water backgrounds in Sin City. Insider tip: if you think the Caesars’ pools look stunning during the day, swing by in the early evening as the sun sinks behind the mountains in the horizon. Your friends back home will suspiciously wonder why half the pics in your camera phone are of this scene.

3) Cosmopolitan – Boulevard Pool – $$$$ – Center Strip

cosmo pool las vegas

A popular hotel choice and rendezvous point for the beautiful twentysomethings and thirtysomethings of the world since the day it opened, The Cosmopolitan continues to stand out from all other high-end resorts on the Strip by maintaining its modern style and sophistication while consistently adding new attractions. The choice of well-traveled and well-heeled young foreigners as well as in-the-know locals, Cosmo attracts the “cool kids” crowd with its buzzy pool/bar scenes, and The Boulevard Pool is right on brand. If its sister venue Marquee Dayclub is the sorority-girl wild child, then Boulevard Pool is the ultra lounge-loving sophisticated older sister who enjoys art, books, foreign languages, white wine, and dirty martinis. The pool consists of one continuous water body with multiple shallow ends (less than 1 foot deep) where you can sit, or even lie prone in the water, while sipping your cocktail. Out of the pool, you can feed your competitive streak with deck games like ping-pong and foosball or just enjoy the magnificent third-story view overlooking the bustling and sweltering Vegas Strip.

4) Mandalay Bay – Mandalay Beach – $$ – North Strip

Aerial view of Mandalay Beach and wave pool on crowded summer day

The giant Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino is every bit as luxurious as the other resorts on this list, but it’s one of the oldest resorts on the Strip and thus no longer exudes that “exclusive” feel as do many of the others. It’s not for lack of effort though: the 11-acre playground has three large pools, a lazy river, 2,700 tons of white sand, a 1.6 million gallon wave pool, and even an elevated stage built atop the wave pool where live performances regale fans wading in thigh-deep water. The resort itself offers a plethora of family-friendly atmosphere and amenities, e.g. shark reef aquarium, interactive shows, kid-friendly eateries. As a result, a family-friendly booze-friendly backyard pool party – with quite a few tipsy aunts and uncles stumbling around – is the vibe you’ll get here, particularly in the summers when school is out. Add in the intermittent air traffic noise (it’s across from McCarran) and inconveniently long rides to any center or south Strip locations, and this venue can often take on the feel of Disneyland instead of Sin City. Which is fine if you’ve got kids in tow and don’t want to (or can’t) stray too far from your home base just to cool off.

5) Aria – Aria Pool – $$$ – Center Strip

A glittering center-strip jewel rising from the desert floor, Aria – set against the backdrop of the shiny, new CityCenter complex – is one of the largest hotels on Planet Earth. The resort offers some much-needed respite from the desert heat in the form of its Aria Pool, one of the most sleek, spacious, and serene pool decks on The Strip. Refreshment and relaxation are easily had at any Aria’s three ellipse-shaped pools, with swaying palm trees and shrubbery yielding coveted shade spots to ward off the sunburn. Cabanas for rent offer further privacy and elevated service plus a quiet place to lounge, and poolside grub and drinks are available from Aria’s Breeze Café and Pool Bar. Even better: Aria houses arguably the best collection of upscale dining options – CATCH, Javier’s, Lemongrass, Carbone, Din Tai Fung, and Sage, to name a few – of any Strip resort, and you can have any of them on-demand for a sumptuous poolside feast.

Closest dayclub / pool party to Aria: Liquid (inside resort on second floor)

6) Venetian – Venetian Pool – $$ – South Strip

Venetian Las Vegas pool deck in summer

Now one of the oldest four-star-and-up properties on the Strip, Venetian has aged gracefully: it’s every bit as fetching, well-maintained, and fun-loving as a botox-blessed Italian cougar. Grandeur and opulence inspired by the charming canals of the great city of Venice (duh!) is the overriding aesthetic, from grand white marble columns to blue-hued painted cloud ceilings to its lively Italian veranda 4th-floor resort pool deck. Five acres of gorgeous, lush, elegant grounds reminiscent of a rambling European-style garden, Venetian Pool showcases a hot tub, 3 pools, 23 cabanas, 4 outdoor pavilion beds, outdoor showers, and a pool retail shop. If you get hungry, there’s the acclaimed RIVA by Wolfgang Puck for poolside eats, and if – no, when – you get thirsty, there’s a watering hole at almost every turn of the wandering path. Be on the lookout for the newly renovated Tao Beach, which will reopen in 2021 and cause a spike In spillover foot traffic of the twentysomething singles variety in the regular Venetian Pool areas.

7) The Linq – Influence Pool – $$ – Center Strip

Post-millennials & Gen Z: they turned the word “bae” into synonyms for “darling” or “poop” and the word “literally” into synonyms for “actually” and “figuratively.” So it’s no surprise that they’re raving about the Influence Pool at the LINQ, which ironically is neither influential (not yet, at least) or a true pool party (more on that later). The youngest resort sibling in the Caesars family – and perhaps the one with the most spunk – the LINQ was renovated, rebranded, and relaunched in 2014 with an emphasis on targeting fresh-faced twentysomethings (and pesky thirties hangers-on). As a result, the entire resort including its pool area is modern, contemporary, ultra-clean, and still has a bit of that “new car” smell and look. Here’s what their Influence Pool offers: A) 35 pool side daybeds and 10 grand cabanas available for daily rental; B) an elevated DJ booth in the heart of the action pumping out dance tunes; C) an above-ground side pool (read: tank) with see-through windows on each end, perfect for social media influencer photos; D) a “cooler than you” fit crowd that oozes the ignorant carefree bliss of youth. It’s quite similar to a dayclub, but its showrunners refuse to brand it as such or compare it to the other wilder Strip parties; in fact, they are quick to remind you that it’s NOT a pool party per se but an “experience.” When we figure out what they mean by that, we will let you know… meanwhile, the party – ahem, spectacle – at Influence Pool rocks on, continuing to be as hot / cool / confusing / ironic / fascinating / buzzworthy / hyped / overhyped as Post-Millennials & Gen Z themselves.

8) Bellagio – Bellagio Pool – $$$ – Center Strip

With its world-famous Bellagio fountains out front-and-center mesmerizing Las Vegas Strip visitors with dancing water light shows every 15 minutes, the Bellagio is the epitome of understated elegance. Visitors with refined tastes and a preference for decades-old wine over stiff cocktails will enjoy a stay here, and its resort pool exudes that same sophisticated aura. No less than five pools beckon from an elegant, peaceful garden landscape. Available amenities for visitors include private cabanas with misters, WiFi, pool rafts, chilled towels, cocktails made with fresh juices, freshly made lunch options, and poolside massages. It’s common locals knowledge that Bellagio has the double fortune of having one of the best sportsbooks AND one of the best poker rooms in Vegas; so, their resort pool is the perfect wet break to clear your mind when your bets start to run dry.

Closest dayclub to Bellagio: Marquee Dayclub (@ Cosmopolitan next door)

9) Mandalay Bay – Delano Beach Club – $$$$ – South Strip

Pool chess at Delano beach club

Situated at the Delano Hotel tower – which itself is part of the massive Mandalay Bay resort – the Delano Beach Club is a calm, cool, and collected alternative to the Strip’s clanging, flickering, ADD-inducing madness. The Delano brand epitomized level-headed white-hued South Beach style and splendor for nearly a decade before making its way to Las Vegas. This trademark look has been uprooted from beach to desert and painstakingly replicated in its all its magnificent details. The pool deck decor is reminiscent of its internationally renowned Miami predecessor in that cool white persists as the dominant furniture color; white accents the handful of hammocks spread throughout, as well as the cabanas (which come with standard luxe amenities like pool toys, waiter service, and TVs) and the oversized in-water chess set sculpture. DBC Las Vegas is the anti-club and ideal post-party: an idyllic, mellow scene to wind down and dry out for the day. The “see and be seen” vibe definitely made it from Delano East over to Delano West… but we certainly don’t blame you if you wanted to hunker down at this hideaway all weekend and do neither of the two.

10) MGM Grand – Grand Pool Complex – $$$ – North Strip

Another come-one-come-all destination, MGM’s Grand Pool Complex throws out 6.5 acres of (mostly) family fun featuring four refreshing swimming pools, three whirlpools, cascading waterfalls and top-notch amenities. Kids of all ages can grab a tube and float down perhaps the most well-traversed lazy river in Nevada, stretch out on a comfy daybed, enjoy a variety of food and drink options, or find relaxing bliss with a poolside massage. Feeling more like a grown-up today? One of the complex pools is dedicated to an ultra-chill adults-only vibe, and you’ll find the crowd there – mostly 30s and 40s couples and their single “third wheels” drenched in sun and alcohol – to be much more friendly conversational than party confrontational. But rest assured whatever you enjoy doing by the water you’ll be able to find your poolside vibe here… and you’ll find pleasurable views and activities to do at every turn.

Top 10 Best Luxury Hotel Suites in Las Vegas

If you’ve already convinced yourself that your next visit to Las Vegas is an ultra-special occasion – the kind of occasion that necessitates a baller suite with a bottomless budget – then you’ll have plenty of amazing options awash in ridiculous head-spinning luxury from which you and your crew can select. Hey, you can’t take money with you to the next life, and Sin City has no shortage of once-in-a-lifetime accommodation experience to make sure that the money comes and the money goes.  There’s a reason why there’s no state income tax paid by Las Vegas employees: millions of visitors a year foot those locals’ tax bills via hotel taxes, entertainment taxes, sales taxes, and all other taxes on general debauchery (and stupidity). Las Vegas is not all about nightclubs, pool parties, or strip clubs it’s a city of luxurious hotels too. To whet your appetite for excess and get you in the mood to spend, here is Discotech’s Top 10 list of high-end luxury hotel suites on the Las Vegas Strip:

Sky Villas at Aria – Center Strip

Where the desert meets the sky, the sublime views warrant unparalleled luxury. Such is the essence of the Aria Sky Suites, the crown jewel in Aria’s treasure chest of sparkling accommodation options. Even before you lay eyes on your five-diamond suite, you get luxury airport transfer, private check-in, and in-villa spa treatments scheduled for the weekend. The 2,000-7,000 square-foot villas – ranked by Forbes Travel Guide as one of the Most Luxurious Hotels in the World – come with their own kitchen units, saunas, and pool tables, as well as access to the gorgeous private Aria Sky Pool overlooking the strip. And perhaps best of all, you can order in-villa dining from any of Aria’s restaurants, which are arguably the best collection of upscale dining options  – CATCH, Javier’s, Lemongrass, Carbone, Din Tai Fung, and Sage, to name a few – of any Strip resort.

Fairway Villas at Wynn/Encore – North Strip

If the Fairway Villas were good enough for Steve Wynn himself, then they’ll surely be good enough for your sophisticated taste. Yes, the former owner of Wynn/Encore with his name on the building once lived in one of these stunning villas. Including Stevie Boy’s old haunt – now vacated – Wynn Resorts has 36 villas; the one-bedroom villas are 2,411 square feet and the the two-bedroom villas cover 3,224 square feet. Villas offer guests spectacular balcony views, dual marble bathrooms (with rain shower and bathtub, private massage rooms); bedrooms (with king-sized bed and 60-inch LCD high-definition TV); powder rooms, and living rooms with seating for eight and an 80-inch high-definition TV. As a final (or is it a beginning?) perk to set you apart from the masses, the Fairway Villas get their own private entrance and registration lobby, as well as a personal concierge. You’ll have plenty of room to get some rest and relaxation before heading to a Las Vegas hip hop nightclub.

The top four floors of Cosmopolitan’s Boulevard tower are dedicated to precisely twenty-one (in honor of Blackjack good luck) swanky penthouse suites masterfully decorated by a trio of world-renowned interior designers (Daun Curry, Richmond International, & Tihany Design). Spectacular unimpeded views of Las Vegas landmarks from the penthouse balconies include the Bellagio’s dancing fountains, every dazzling light on the Strip from north to South, and the colorful Red Rock mountains and cliffs far out on the horizon. Inside the palatial property the view is even better: you’ll enjoy one-of-a-kind amenities such as birdcage swings, marble statues, and full bars stocked with top-shelf cigars and liquor.

Chairman’s Suite at Venetian – North Strip

The Chairman’s experience begins when your flight touches down at McCarran – a stretch limousine with an obnoxiously large Venetian logo on the window whisks you away, to the disgust of the onlookers in the airport’s 45-minute taxi line. A private check-in concierge and 24/7 dedicated staff gets you from arrival to the cavernous master bedrooms (yes, the unit has two!) of your 8,000 square foot “office” in less than ten minutes. Also coming in twos are jaw-dropping bathrooms: mini-spas equipped with whirlpool tubs, steam showers, and his-and-her facilities. Alas, you only get one living room, so you’ll have to settle for one with an L-shaped bar, solarium, fireplace, conference room for Chairman “business” of course, and… an indoor garden for finding your moment of zen. You’re all set, boss – time to get to “work” on mapping out your ultimate Vegas weekend adventure.

Hardwood Suite at Palms – Off-Strip

Billionaire real estate moguls and former NBA franchise owners Joe and Gavin Maloof conceived this “Only in Vegas” idea once upon a time (nearly 20 years ago) when they simultaneously owned and operated the Sacramento Kings and the Palms Hotel. This unforgettable signature suite at the Palms spans two levels and 10,000 square feet and is outfitted with an oversized jacuzzi, a pool table, a professional-style locker room for your squad’s ridiculous Vegas wardrobe changes, and of course a 100% necessary indoor basketball court complete with an electronic scoreboard, varnished hardwood floors, and pro-quality fiberglass backboards. With a master bedroom for each of the two captains and “NBA-sized” luxury foldout beds for the role players, two five-man pickup b-ball teams can make this suite their raucous home court for a championship Vegas weekend. Vegas might be a grueling road game, but who says you can’t have home-court advantage for it?

Chairman Suite at Bellagio – Center Strip

chairman suite at bellagio resort & casino, las vegas

The Roman-style Bellagio Resort & Casino is instantly identifiable by its marvelous fountains and eight-acre lake that surround the property, and theatrics abound once you step inside. The hotel has dozens of restaurants and bars, the casino, premier shopping, and even botanical gardens and a conservatory with rotating art each season. The Chairman Suite is located in a private corner of the hotel, and the 4,075-sq-ft suite can host up to six guests. Enter through the mosaic- and marble-floored foyer into the suite’s lofty living room, with double-height ceilings and a large fireplace. Dramatic views over the Bellagio’s iconic fountains and the glittering lights of the Las Vegas Strip delight from large windows in each room. The contemporary suite is the ideal space for entertaining: There’s a solarium, indoor garden and fountain, fireplace and L-shaped bar. You’ll also have access to VIP seating for ‘O’ by Cirque du Soleil and premium seating at any MGM restaurant or club. But let’s admit: on this particular Vegas trip you really need a little pampering and a lot of drinks… so you’re more interested in your villa’s accompanying 24/7 on-call butler/bartender, aren’t you?

Nobu Villas at Caesars’ Palace – Center Strip

Nobu Villas at Caesar's Palace

OK, so you don’t really aspire to be like that Steve Wynn guy. But hey, we heard you sing in the shower and so we know that you DO aspire to be like Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, or P. Diddy. In that case, Nobu Villa is the spot if your head is in the clouds and you’re shooting for the stars. Here smack in the center of Sin City you can stay in the villa where many entertainment stars like to shack up – a place where tranquil elegance pours cold water on the hissing in-your-face overabundance running rampant out on the Strip. You’ve got over 10,300 square feet of expansive freedom, luxuriously outfitted with refreshingly minimalist decor that pushes zen and meditative arts (without being too pushy, of course). Just woke up from your nap and have a few hours to kill before your full-body massage next nap? No problem, the Nobu has its own game room, sauna, steam shower, and a 4,700-square-foot outdoor terrace for you to engage in, um “relaxation techniques” of both the tame or risque variety.

Ultra Panorama Suite at Planet Hollywood – Center Strip

Ultra panorama suite at planet hollywood, las vegas

If you’re the high-energy type that didn’t come to Vegas to sleep and want to lose yourself in the blur, Planet Hollywood’s ultra-hip Ultra Panorama Suite is for you. From your wraparound room with floor-to-ceiling windows you’ll have a front row seat – long, curvy, supple leather couch seats to be exact – to the Strip’s non-stop flashing, blinking light show and the hordes of passing foot traffic below. The room decor and color tones are bright and bold, conveying – nay, screaming – a tone of contemporary elegance and confident luxury. PH knows you came here to go hard or go home, so it’s given you a home base for you to go hard: luxury bedding, a soaking tub, and an oversized fridge for storing your favorite post-party recovery (or re-up). What hangovers may come, this party suite will make them disappear in short order.

MGM Grand – The Mansion – South Strip

Outdoor courtyard entrance, The Mansion, MGM Grand Las Vegas

A marvelous architectural masterpiece inspired by an 18th-century Florentine countryside villa, The Mansion – on the MGM Grand property but largely invisible to passersby on the Strip – is a hidden fortress of luxury, privacy, and pleasure. As exquisite as the service is – complimentary airport pick-up in a Rolls Royce or Maybach, “dream butlers” at your beck and call, and personal concierges to plan any conceivable Vegas experience is just the start – the sheer grandeur mixed with careful attention to each minute detail is what will really blow you and your guests away. The largest of The Mansion’s villas – a four-bedroom behemoth pushing close to six figures a night to rent out – comes equipped with steam/sauna showers, a separate jacuzzi bathtub, private elevator access, indoor swimming pool, salon, media room, study, exercise room, bar, and billiard room. The Mansion is a playground for the wealthy and uber-famous to let their hair down and have Vegas-style debauchery without the risk of prying eyes and camera phones. Case in point: a certain Hall of Fame fighter is a Mansion regular, and on major fight weekends he throws epic parties where guests are invited to drink unlimited top-shelf liquor while attempting to stuff themselves into carry-on suitcases to win the legend’s money. #OnlyInVegas

Not-so common “common area” features include a spacious living room layout with plush lounge seating, a gold tree-trunk coffee table, bronze-accented lighting fixtures, and a separate cocktail room for hosting parties or just enjoying the high-life balcony views with friends. The “see and be seen” vibe definitely made it from Delano East over to Delano West… but we certainly don’t blame you if you wanted to just hole up in your sparkling hideaway all weekend and do neither of the two.

Top 10 Best Hotels on the Las Vegas Strip

If you’ve already told yourself that you’re indeed one of those party animals that wants a memorable experience full of luxury and modern amenities – and you are willing to spend coin to get it – then you should to move early to lock down a good room rate at one of the top Las Vegas hotels.  Take it from us experts: there are a handful of magnificent Strip resorts that are head and shoulders above the rest of them, ones that offer all the trappings you desire in the central location you want and are conveniently right smack dab on The Strip.

There are many reasonably priced and solid options on and off the Vegas Strip, but the Las Vegas that most out-of-towners want to experience is the one of sheer opulence, fast money, gluttonous excess, glitzy sensory overload, and high-stakes swings in fortune.  And of course, Las Vegans (hilarious, but yes that’s what they’re called) play the fiddle in tune because “a fool and his money are soon parted” as the old saying goes.

Here,  in order of our highly experienced customer service staff’s preferences, is our Discotech top 10 list of hotels you want to visit – and stay at, if you can – on the Las Vegas strip in 2020:

1) Aria – $$$$ – Center Strip

Aria glitters like a new jewel in the desert night

A glittering center-strip jewel rising from the desert floor, Aria is one of the largest hotels on Planet Earth: 4,004 rooms, including 568 suites and two distinct AAA Five Diamond hotel products. State-of-the-art rooms and suites are a given; for the more discerning client the exclusive Sky Suites – 1,000-7,000 square-foot villas with private check-in and elevator, dedicated lounge, goodie bags, and Sky Pool access – offer even more opulence and white-glove service. Even better, Aria houses arguably the best collection of upscale dining options  – CATCH, Javier’s, Lemongrass, Carbone, Din Tai Fung, and Sage, to name a few – of any Strip resort.  They know that the way to your heart… and your wallet… is through your stomach, don’t they?

2) Wynn/Encore – $$$$$ – North Strip

Wynn/Encore details capture Steve Wynn's meticulous vision

With its ubiquitous red and gold interior decor – lucky colors to the wealthy Asian clientele that often frequent its casino floor tables – the Wynn and Encore have always been on of the most luxurious properties on the Vegas strip. In recent years, they’ve traded in their elitist vibe – without sacrificing any of the luxury – for a more high-energy fashionista cool to target those aspirational Millennials of the aughts and teens that now have money to burn in 2020. Sleek, modern rooms showcasing Steve Wynn’s famed attention to detail start at 640 square feet and offer floor-to-ceiling windows, signature Wynn Dream beds, luxe linens and marble bathtubs. But the big draw for the hipper, younger set remains the on-site entertainment options, including nightlife venues that continue to showcase the hottest musical talent in the world including The Chainsmokers, Drake, and Diplo.

3) Cosmopolitan – $$$$$ – Center Strip

Cosmo casino floor

A popular hotel choice and rendezvous point for the beautiful twentysomethings and thirtysomethings of the world since the day it opened, The Cosmopolitan continues to stand out from all other high-end resorts on the Strip by maintaining its modern style and sophistication while consistently adding new attractions. The choice of well-traveled and well-heeled young foreigners as well as in-the-know locals, Cosmo attracts the cool kids crowd with its buzzy pool/bar scenes and its cadre of Instagram-worthy restaurants. (Our favorites: Eggslut, Momofoku, Beauty & Essex, and of course the Secret Pizza speakeasy.) Spacious, boldly decorated rooms with amenities like Japanese soaking tubs and spectacular views from outdoor balconies – it’s one of the only Strip properties to have them, for safety reasons – await wide-eyed and deep-pocketed hotel guests. It’s a resort you often never leave upon arrival, because the five-star experience is to be had whether you’re chillin’ in your room or wildin’ out in the 24-hours-a-day party atmosphere on the Cosmo casino floor.

4) Venetian – $$$$ – North Strip

Canals at Venetian Las Vegas

Now one of the oldest four-star-and-up properties on the Strip, Venetian has aged gracefully: it’s every bit as fetching, well-maintained, and fun-loving as a botox-blessed Italian cougar. Grandeur and opulence inspired by the charming canals of the great city of Venice (duh!) is the overriding aesthetic, from grand white marble columns to blue-hued painted cloud ceilings to the trademark canal that winds through the Shops at Venetian, complete with singing gondoliers and hawking merchants. Venetian originally pioneered the now common “all-suite” accommodations with rooms featuring separate sitting areas, grand bathrooms and spacious layouts larger than most Milanese apartments. If money’s no object, book your stay at Prestige at the Palazzo – a massive spread which comes with continental breakfast, a live piano player on request and complimentary wine – and secure the Stage Cabana at the newly renovated Tao Beach for an epic and indulgent Saturday afternoon scene.

5) The Linq – $$$ – Center Strip

Linq - Vegas Strip's best kept secret

Surprised to see this 3-star property on the list? Don’t be. Much like that of a Vegas Fight Weekend headliner, the Linq’s penchant for punching above its weight when it comes to luxury has long been known among hardcore Vegas insiders and locals, and you’re likely still in the dark. The youngest sibling in the Caesars family – and perhaps the one with the most spunk – the Linq was renovated, rebranded, and relaunched in 2014 with an emphasis on targeting fresh-faced Millennials.  As a result, the rooms are very modern, contemporary, and ultra-clean and the casino floor still has a bit of that “new car” smell and look.  The “affordable luxury at its finest” extends to the fabulously comfortable rooms; there are also room options for a crowd that have two queen beds and an extra lofted bunk, which is good if you’re hoping to make new friends or one of your crew decides to join the Vegas jaunt last-minute. On-site luxurious spa treatments and hangover IV services are great perks; there are also in-room fitness carts stocked with yoga mats and foam rollers available to guests free of charge.  But what sets this hotel head and shoulders above the rest: LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION.  It’s right smack in the center of action, walking distance or a $6-8 Uber / Lyft from practically every Vegas Strip resort where you’d want to party and meet friends (or strangers).   And if you’re too partied out to wander far from your bed?  No problem, you can step right outside the hotel and spend your hard-earned paycheck enjoying numerous award-winning restaurants and bars at the Linq Promenade, or even getting some fresh air and sun onto your face by flying high above the strip on either the High Roller ferris wheel or the FLY LINQ zipline.

6) Bellagio – $$$$ – Center Strip

Bellagio fountains at dusk

With its world-famous Bellagio fountains out front-and-center mesmerizing Las Vegas Strip visitors with dancing water light shows every 15 minutes, the Bellagio is the epitome of understated elegance. Visitors with refined tastes and a preference for decades-old wine over stiff cocktails will enjoy a stay here: Bellagio lavishes visitors with spacious rooms and suites that are classic in look and feel yet referbished with all modern trappings (fast wi-fi, mood lighting, and soaking tubs). The magnificent horticultural gardens on the first floor near the main lobby rotate seasonally and are worth a visit and a few pictures on every Vegas trip. Insiders tip #1: Bellagio has the most luxurious sports book in Vegas, and demand for seating is through the roof every Saturday and Sunday during football season. Insiders tip #2: Bellagio also has the liveliest yet most friendly poker room on the strip, with games at all levels running 24/7 and chatty regulars who will smile and tell you great stories in between competitive hands.

The casino resort that defined Las Vegas luxury for baby boomers was re-introduced to and lionized by the 40-and-under set via the 2009 smash-hit movie “The Hangover.” A decade later, Caesars’ Palace continues to be a must-visit resort on the Strip, owing to proximity features like a sprawling pool area, the hottest club in town (Omnia), a massive shopping center (Forum Shops), and nearly 4,000 comfortable rooms and suites. Architecturally, guests are transported back to the time of Maximus via impressive sights such as the Forum Tower, the Augustus Tower, and eloquently carved statues of historical figures offering bold welcomes (and can’t-miss selfie moments). Feeling extra baller this weekend? Grab your entourage and follow in the famous footsteps of Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, or Drake to rent out the 10,300-square-foot Nobu Villa with its massive terrace, steam shower, and game room.

8) Sahara – $$$$ – North Strip

SLS hotel is now Sahara

Formerly the SLS Casino, this resort is under new ownership and relaunches as the Sahara in early 2020 (funny enough, it had been called the Sahara for decades prior to SLS taking over). Once again, the property has been fully gutted and carefully remodeled to make way for a hip, modern, luxury-oozing hotel halfway between Downtown and center Strip. Discerning guests will opt for a room in ultra-posh the all-suite Lux Tower with its French motifs and exclusive in-room dining menu. For regular guests, one of the 1,500-plus Philippe Starck-designed standard rooms with numerous artistic touches will suit them just fine. The casino floor eatures a 50,000-square-foot casino floor with 600 slot machines and 60 table games, as well as a visually arresting giant LED cube in the ceiling and some of the most underrated mid-level dining options in all of Vegas (Northside Cafe is one of our personal favorites).

9) Mandalay Bay – $$$$ – South Strip

Mandalay Bay shines in broad daylight

The giant Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino is every bit as luxurious as the other resorts on this list, it just no longer exudes that “exclusive” feel as do many of the others. It offers a ton of family-friendly amenities (wave pool, streaming lazy river pool, shark reef aquarium, kid-friendly eateries), and that mainstream appeal is what brings constant crowds and long lines especially in the summer. Add in intermittent air traffic noise (it’s across from McCarran) and inconveniently long rides to center or south Strip locations, and the venue can take on the feel of Disneyland instead of Sin City. Which is fine if you’re with young ones and don’t want to (or can’t) stray too far from home base: all of the hotel’s 3,209 rooms underwent renovations in 2016 with TVs, minibars, bathrooms with separate tubs and showers, and ultra-comfy beds, so why not “staycation” and lord over your temporary castle?

10) Park MGM Hotel – $$$ – South Strip

Park MGM from Strip at dusk

Formerly the Monte Carlo Resort and Casino, the upscale Park MGM Las Vegas opened in 2018 after a multimillion-dollar renovation, providing a casual and cool atmosphere catering to younger travelers (mid-twenties to early-thirties). The rooms and pool are slightly above average but so new that you’ll be happy with them; the true stars of this resort are the restaurant offerings. The goal from the get-go was for Park MGM to be a foodie haven, and with ultra-hip(ster) offerings such as Eataly and Roy Choi’s Best Friend that box has been checked. The speakeasy and nightclub On the Record – the upscale brainchild of LA-based Houston Hospitality, one of the most successful nightlife brands in Hollywood – blasts 80s, 90s, and 2000s hip-hop and is packed nightly with nostalgic millennials (and older millennial wannabes) from open to close (also check out more Vegas hip hop night clubs here). On top of that, you can go gaga for Lady Gaga, turn back time with Cher, or kick off your golden night watching NHL’s Vegas Golden Knights (next door at T-Mobile Arena). For those of you that love that new new, this is the walk in the Park that you want to take.
