Best Gay Pool Party in Vegas – Electric Safari @ Flamingo Beach Club

It might not be Pride month in Las Vegas, but the Flamingo’s beach club has gotten in on the summer celebration anyway with the biggest gay/lesbian pool party in Las Vegas. The resort pool recently unveiled the summer lineup for its LGBT-focused party Electric Safari, which will feature an assortment of DJs from the techno, house and LGBT dance worlds. Because why should we wait until October to celebrate?

Launched in May in partnership with Artificial People Las Vegas Presents, the nighttime swim soiree takes place every Thursday at the Flamingo Go Pool beginning at 9 p.m. The cover is $5 for hotel guests and Nevada residents and $10 for non-residents. It’s one of the few LGBT dayclub events actually happening on the Las Vegas Strip, taking over the 15-acre tropical retreat with lagoons, a waterfall and three sparkling pools.

Bust out the Speedos and sexy safari-themed gear when LA’s Dan De Leon takes over the decks on June 28, or when San Francisco Pride regular Dominic Pacifico brings his signature mixes to the pool on July 12. Together, Leon and Pacifico comprise DJ duo Krusade—an outfit with 30 years of deep, dancefloor-ready bangers and remixes of club-favorite artists like Timbaland and Nelly Furtado.

Your Cali friends might be making you jealous with all of their pride selfies for now, but you get to celebrate poolside all summer long.

The Aquatic Club Debuts at the Palazzo

Everything you’ve heard about boozy popsicle delivery, floating ping-pong and poolside sausage pizza—is 100% real.

Enjoy:

Make a beeline for the Aquatic Club, a more sophisticated approach to dancing in a pool while consuming startling amounts of rum punch, now open at the Palazzo Pool Deck.

Fact: There are already several Vegas dayclubs designed for you and your swimwear-clad compatriots to do fun stuff by chlorinated bodies of water.

Other fact: You may not desire them as much now that there’s this hospitable 1950s-sports-club-inspired array of colorful cabanas with a poolside bicyclist ready to deliver you boozy popsicles.

Spend an upcoming lazy afternoon here. Depending on the day, you may be privy to a DJ, synchronized swimmers or floating ping-pong. If you receive some poolside spa treatments, too, so be it. That’s just how life goes sometimes.

So kick back and seize the opportunity to drink large-format, Prohibition-era cocktails. And eat Wolfgang Puck’s Italian sausage pizza, before taking a dip in the pool.

That is, 15 to 30 minutes before taking a dip in the pool.

How Much You Should Expect To Spend at a Bachelorette Party

Today’s brides are putting as much planning into the events leading up to their wedding as they are the big day. And while all those pre-parties are definitely upping the fun factor, they also require guests to shell out even more money to join in the celebration.

According to a 2017 survey by RetailMeNot, people spend an average of $137 for food and $116 on alcohol for a proper bachelorette bash. “[Most women] aren’t interested in spending thousands of dollars; they’re spending maybe $150 for the weekend on bachelorette activities,” says Bri Steck, CEO of Vegas Girls Night Out, a boutique party-planning concierge in Las Vegas. “Instead of doing $3,000 bottle service, they’re just going to do entry into the nightclubs and open bar for a couple hours.” Looking to save some money on your next Vegas hen party? Check out our guide to planning a cheap Vegas bachelorette party.

Steck has found that women, unlike the guys, want more bang for their buck and are willing to spend if it gets them a more VIP experience and more activities. “Women will spend on upgrades,” she says. “They’ll add on limos, they’ll add on the nightclubs, they’ll add on dinner, they’ll add on hair and makeup. They’re more likely to spend money to get a bunch of different things than just one night. It’s more that overall experience.”

Joanne Barken, founder of the Bach, an online hub for bachelorette-party planning ideas, agrees. “Bachelorette parties continue to focus more and more on the experience and less on a drunken, rowdy night out on the town,” she says. “From cooking classes to yoga retreats, more and more groups are looking at bachelorette weekends as an excuse to try something new and splurge on an experience that they wouldn’t normally try on their own.”

Part of that new experience is travel to a fresh destination—and according to the Brides 2016 American Wedding Study, 44 percent say they plan to host their bachelorette party out of town. Per the RetailMeNot findings, you can expect to spend an average of $265 on air travel for that trip—not including hotels.

Not surprisingly, more women than men are willing to shop to look their best at the bachelorette—39 percent versus 29 percent. Translation: You’ll need new clothes for those Instagram snaps, and 35 percent say they purchased a new outfit for a bachelorette. So how much do selfie-worthy new clothes cost? That’ll be $137, please.

Plus, says Barken, brides are opening their wallets for extra gifts for their squad. “We’ve seen that party favors have gotten way more elaborate,” she says. “It’s no longer just about the gifts for the bride; all of the guests are often gifted fun items such as welcome bags, hangover kits, and cute party attire.”

But before you get hung up on the dollars and cents, remember a fun time with your girls is priceless. Says Steck: “It’s all about the experience and having a really great, memorable time.”

Golden State Warriors Party in Las Vegas

Members of the Golden State Warriors basketball team spent some time partying in the Las Vegas nightclubs and dayclubs in celebration of their championship win. The staff prepared special cakes, head shot cutouts, and elaborate presentations with champagne in their honor.

Say this for the Dubs, they left no stone, or major Strip resort, unturned. Add Wynn/Encore to a list including Aria (Jewel Nightclub and Liquid Day Lounge), Cosmopolitan (Marquee Nightclub and Dayclub), The Cromwell (Drai’s), Mandalay Bay (the Mandalay Bay Events Center for Saturday’s Andre Ward-Sergey Kovalev fight) and MGM Grand (Topgolf). At least one Warrior, and usually several, was spotted at each of these party retreats.

Finals MVP Kevin Durant was typically in the eye of the frivolity, joined by co-owners Joseph Lacob and Peter Guber. Encore Beach Club was the most recent reported sighting from the Warriors’ casino crawl. Green, Klay Thompson, JaVale McGee, Andre Iguodala, Matt Barnes and Ian Clark were lavished with attention and bottle service.

The team’s next move should be to display the championship trophy at the Aria porte cochère, or the DJ booth at Jewel, or somewhere. And put a tip cup in front of it, because I understand the purse strings were pretty tight from this bunch.
