Omnia Nightclub at Caesar’s Palace (EDM)

Chandelier located on the dance floor of OMNIA Las Vegas

Following its much anticipated grand opening March 2015, Omnia Las Vegas has quickly become the hottest club on the strip. Located in the space previously occupied by Pure Nightclub in Caesars, Omnia LV features a star studded EDM DJ line up that includes Afrojack, Calvin Harris, Martin Garrix, and Tiesto. The Omnia aura begins upon entering the lavish space. A colossal lighting system, which looms over the expansive dance floor, sends cascading light throughout the main club. Guests under the four-story roof will be showered with beams of changing colored lights revealing layers of architectural wonders.

The main club boasts a dramatic 65-foot-tall ceiling dome that encompasses a 22,000-pound kinetic chandelier. The grandiose centerpiece of the main club consists of eight concentric rings featuring production elements including theatrical lighting effects, video projections and light-emitting diodes (LED) choreographed to evolve throughout the night.

If you’re into hip hop music, Heart of Omnia is a separate area within Omnia that features a hip-hop DJ. There’s also a rooftop terrace upstairs that has it’s own DJ, typically playing more chill music. Keep in mind that you won’t be able to hear the main DJ unless you’re in the main room. Of course, main room table prices don’t come cheap. Can’t put a price on fun.

XS at the Wynn (EDM)

Nighttime Pool Party at XS Las Vegas

Going eleven years strong, XS at the Wynn Encore Hotel is still undeniably the King of Clubs. Regarded by many as one of the most luxurious nightclubs on Earth, XS continues to rack up five-star rankings and plenty of adoration from club goers with its 40,000 feet of sprawling dance floor, outdoor patio, and pool area. The venue offers over 70 VIP tables inside and another 80+ tables outdoors, providing a flexible range of price options if you are looking for that VIP experience.

With a design inspired by the curves of the human body, XS at the Wynn features a 10-foot rotating chandelier and a rich gold, black and brown color scheme. And letโ€™s not forget about its amazing lineup: resident DJs at XS include superstars like The Chainsmokers, David Guetta, Alesso, Major Lazer, and Diplo. Also, did we mention that during the summer, XS hosts a weekly nightswim on Sundays? Trust us when we say a Vegas trip is not complete without a night at XS: this is one of the best nightclubs in Vegas.

Marquee Nightclub at the Cosmopolitan (EDM)

View of the Dance Floor at Marquee Las Vegas

If you havenโ€™t jumped on the EDM bandwagon, fear not โ€“ Marquee also offers the โ€˜Boom Boxโ€™ as a hip hop room, as well as โ€˜The Libraryโ€™, a discreet VIP lounge if youโ€™re feeling something more low key. With vast glass window-walls overlooking the famous Las Vegas Strip, guests will enjoy a nightlife experience unlike any other venue.

Pro-tip: Discotech usually offers a free or discounted guest list to Marquee Nightclub, so be sure to check it out and save some dough.

When youโ€™re ready to take the party outside, EBC at Night has you covered too. The outdoor area provides poolside VIP tables, two levels of cabanas, booths, couches, bungalows and plenty of space for dancing wherever youโ€™d like. Complete with palm tree decor, the space provides a more casual, chill vibe. There are 26 cabanas that are well-furnished, including flat-screen TVs and balconies overlooking the Las Vegas Strip. EBC at Nightโ€™s resident DJs include international stars like The Chainsmokers, Diplo, Alesso, David Guetta, Kygo, Major Lazer, and many more. Depending on the DJ and the night, the set might include more hip-hop, dubstep, trap, and dirty EDM; make sure to do your research on the DJ spinning that night.  This is another venue that we usually offer a guest list for, so be sure to check out Discotech if you are looking to get free or discounted admission!

TAO Nightclub at Venetian (Hip Hop / Top 40)

Bruno Mars Performing Live at TAO Las Vegas

Since opening in September of 2005, this Asian-themed dining and entertainment venue has consistently ranked amongst the top-grossing nightclubs in the world. The multi-faceted, 3-story โ€œAsian Cityโ€ houses a restaurant, banquet facilities, lounges, nightclub and beach at over 60,00 square feet; needless to say, youโ€™ll never be short of things to do during your stay here. And donโ€™t worry about fighting over where to eat; the restaurantโ€™s extensive menu features culinary components from China, Japan, and Thailand sure to please everyone.

Open Thursday – Saturday, TAO is a frequent hot-spot for A-list celebrities, sports stars, and culinary connoisseurs. This nightclub hosts popular DJs such as Snoop Dogg and Jermaine Dupri, as well as creative programming. Itโ€™s important to note that TAO is not a pure EDM club; the main room plays a mix of top 40, EDM and hip-hop while the Opium Room down the hall is catered more towards hip-hop fans. Those of you looking for EDM-only clubs should steer clear. Use promo code DISCO to save $5 on your ticket purchases!

Drai’s After Hours at The Cromwell (2 rooms – 1 Hip Hop, 1 EDM)

After Hours Tables at Drais After Hours Las Vegas

So, the DJโ€™s starting to wind down at the club youโ€™re at but the partyโ€™s not over yet; after all, the nightโ€™s still young. Itโ€™s the age-old dilemma many of us have encountered at one point or another. So, what do you do? Weโ€™ve got a solution: check out Draiโ€™s After Hours in The Cromwell. The club is located underground where it originally opened in the Barbary Coast; look for the gold elevator marked with the curvaceous body of a woman in a ruby red dress to take you down to the venue.

If youโ€™re looking for after-hours fun on the Strip, this is the place to be. Cashing in on everything saucy about after-hours, Draiโ€™s digs deep to give you a club experience like no other. Draiโ€™s pioneered the โ€œafter-hoursโ€ late-night concept in 1997, providing an intimate and exclusive spot where the party continues until past sunrise (the venue is open until 10 AM). Draiโ€™s features two separate rooms: one playing hip-hop and one playing EDM. Be warned: on occasion when the place gets really busy you may have to pay an extra cover charge to get into the hip-hop room. But hey, can’t put a price on fun!

Move over, slot machines! Las Vegas is shifting from the center of the gambling universe to the center of the nightclub phenomenon, giving Ibiza and Rio a run for their bottle-service money.

Only a few years ago, few people could have predicted how DJ-driven electronic dance music would take off in Sin City, but today, it’s the new paradigm of true over-the-top Vegas vogue, with the worldโ€™s top nightclubs — Hakassan (MGM Grand), XS and OMNIA (Caesars Palace), Marquee (Cosmopolitan), and Draiโ€™s (The Cromwell) — leading the charge.

Floor-to-ceiling screens featuring the most impressive visual and lighting effects ever seen, crystal-clear audio at ear-splitting decibels, 80-sided LED disco balls, the worldโ€™s highest-grossing celebrity DJs, and a teeming mass of fist-pumping humanity all combine for non-stop after-dark debauchery.

Of course, youโ€™ll have to navigate the lines, payoffs at the door, and money-grubbing scene inside. And remember, if you donโ€™t look like the 21st-century version of Superfly, forget about passing the dress test.

Generally no, unless you’re dropping a couple thousand dollars on bottle service. However, dress codes are also loosened on certain nights for nightswims.

The LAVO

Inspired by the original LAVO in Las Vegas, LAVO New York Nightclub brings a downtown atmosphere with an uptown awareness. Located in midtown, the state-of-the-art venue is a nightlife hot spot brought to you by the creators of the world-famous TAO Asian Bistro in NYC, TAO Las Vegas, TAO Beach and Marquee Dayclub & Nightclub in Las Vegas. The club comes equipped with bottle service as well as top DJs spinning your favorite tracks all night long.

Designed with a multi-layer approach, the venue is ideal for both after dinner entertaining and late night debauchery. Two full-service bars and decadent banquette seating complete this space. Still interested? Cick upcoming events at LAVO NY to see who’s performing!

PH-D

Fo those who have spent years absorbing life lessons from โ€œEntourage,โ€ PH-D is Xanadu: a glittering room full of celebrities, beautiful women and cresting credit-card bills. The nightclub, which opened in June on the roof of the Dream Downtown hotel, is the latest from the impresarios behind Marquee, Tao and other successful playgrounds for the well heeled.

The crowd is a testament to the timeless compatibility of wealth and attractiveness. PH-D is filled of men in business-casual attire and women who rarely spend weekdays in an office. Like tipsy flamingos, models weave around the room and dance on couches. At a recent one of the popular Tuesday night parties, a few craned over Wilmer Valderrama, an actor from โ€œThat โ€™70s Show,โ€ who shared bottles of vodka with fellow patrons and rapped along with Jay-Z records. Later that week, Edward Norton and Woody Harrelson stopped in, perhaps reminiscing about โ€œThe People vs. Larry Flynt.โ€

Getting inside PH-D is no easy feat. With a max capacity of 400, table reservations are your best bet. Everyone else is left to the mercy of the doorman after 9:30 p.m. The emphasis is on table service, but more-frugal customers can lurk at the bar. Thriftiness is relative as specialty cocktails are priced $18, and with tax and tip automatically added to the bill, a Jameson on the rocks quickly surpasses $21. Click upcoming events at PH-D to see what’s happening at this venue this weekend!

1OAK

After passing through an anteroom, 1Oak patrons find themselves in an expansive room with a ceiling of raw oak slats and a zigzagging black-and-white floor that sets an El Morocco tone. The room is divided by a central black lacquered bar doling out $20 mixed drinks, surrounded by a VIP-type area with VIP tables, a roaring fireplace and giant artwork by Roy Nachum of a nude flanked by buffalo.

Beyond that area is an outdoor smoking lounge partially enclosed by mirrored walls. Ostrich-leather banquettes line underlit brick walls covered by metallic gold curtains, offsetting a bizarre centerpieceโ€”another large artwork of a young blindfolded boy with two horses. In the front of the room there is a DJ podium outfitted with what looks and sounds like a very pricey sound system and in the back, risers for those happy to sit without silver Dom Pรฉrignon buckets in front of them. Click upcoming events at 1Oak to see who’s performing!

Tao NY

Tucked away within the grandeur of Tao Downtownโ€™s restaurant is a hidden gem, what many refer to as the “in the knowโ€ oasis called Tao Downtown Nightclub. Separate from the restaurant, the 2500 sq foot drinks-only lounge has kept a low-key profile attracting VIPs and celebrities for late night/wee-hour cocktails, music and dancing.

Many people donโ€™t even know a nightclub exists, as it is tucked away in the corner of the huge Tao complex, away from the dining area. The club is found one stair down and itโ€™s so intimate and dark, it almost feels like a speak-easy. Tao Downtown Nightclub is one of the Meatpacking hotspots these days for those in the know, and it can be tricky to get in on weekends. It is important to note that dining at the restaurant does not guarantee entry into the club. Reserve your table here or click upcoming events at Tao Downtown to sign up for Guest List and catch your favorite DJ!

Marquee NY

In January 2013, Marquee New York, the legendary Chelsea nightclub that defined New York nightlife, reopened as an internationally acclaimed music destination, attracting the most in-demand DJs and live acts. Marquee has evolved into a pimped out warehouse with 28 ft. ceilings, industrial design accents, and new features including chandeliers constructed from functioning microphones, a top-tier Funktion-One Soundsystem, a custom-built DJ booth, and floor-to-ceiling LED walls. Looking to reserve a table? Click here for table options and reservations at Marquee NY.

By hosting a diverse array of world-class artists, the mega-club is seen as a trendsetter that fuses strongly impassioned and knowledgeable music fans with VIPs in a remarkable environment. Previously opening its doors to underground luminaries such as Dubfire and Nic Fanciulli, and the leading-edge Progressive House and Trance maestros like David Guetta, Tiesto, and Gareth Emery, it will only continue to feature a refined balance of the most premier acts. Marquee New York is truly a revolutionary establishment that is certainly in a vanguard of itโ€™s own. Click upcoming event at Marquee NY so not to miss your favorite DJ!

Webster Hall

Those who know Webster Hall solely as the roomy host to ascendant indie-acts and faded legends alike will be surprised to hear that the faux-marbled space doubles as a real-life night club featuring cover-charged theme parties and big-name DJ sets. The four-story, 40,000 square foot space includes a main stage is lined with balcony space on either end, as well as a few amenities and extras which include an underground coat check, a large back-area bar, the 600-capacity Marlin Room, and the Studio at Webster Hall, a smaller venue-within-a-venue with an intimate atmosphere.

Attendees are usually too entranced by the spinning stage lights and gothic chandeliers to notice the multi-culti hieroglyphic hode-podge lining the venueโ€™s wall; the upstairs unisex bathroom โ€“ complete with checkered, hop-style design and blackboard walls and chalk sticks on string to encourage scrawled musings from stall occupants โ€“ is harder to ignore. Most importantly, the house sound systemโ€™s crisp low end refuses to be ignored, probably thanks to a recent $1 million upgrade. Click upcoming events at Webster Hall to see who’s performing!

Tao Park City Returns – Sundance 2019

At the Sundance Film Festival, stars can be found on the big screen, on Main Street, and in the club — specifically one in particular. The annual Tao Park City late-night pop-up, presented by Tequila Don Julio, will celebrate it’s 12th anniversary this year with a brand-new space, one that heralds a certain benchmark of success for the offshoot of the celebrity watering hole. Bottle service of course, is available – book in advance on the Discotech app.

Tao and its original outposts (which include locations in New York City and Las Vegas, and venues Marquee, LAVO and Avenue) have become beacons for celebrities during the wee hours, and the Tao Park City pop-up, which will move from The Lift to a space called The Yard, is no exception.

“There’s nowhere else to go late at night. We fill a specific void,” explains co-owner Noah Tepperberg, who owns Tao Hospitality with his partners Rich Wolf, Jason Strauss and Marc Packer. “People don’t want to go home at 1 a.m. They want to hang out; they want to do business. We host influential and well-connected people.โ€

Tepperberg isn’t kidding: Over the past 12 years, since Tao Park City has expanded from a ticketed concert series to a private event, their exclusive guest list has attracted the best of the best of Sundance, including Pharrell, Maroon 5 and 50 Cent (who all performed in the early days of the pop-up), Zoe Kravitz, Diplo, Lil Jon and Nick and Joe Jonas. Those lucky enough to get into what is commonly referred to as “the parking garage” in the past, have been able to see intimate moments between celebrities such as Aubrey O’Day bouncing up and down on CeeLo Green’s lap; Margot Robbie locking lips with Alexander Skaarsgard; and Shialene Woodley dancing on a table top. Nas, Rick Ross and Kaskade have all performed as the clock ticked past 1 a.m.

The new space, The Yard, will be over 10,000 square feet and be able to accommodate approximately 100 more people than The Lift. The new space has been custom-built off-site and shipped in from California and Las Vegas. “We just outgrew it again,” explained Tepperberg.

Before achieving widespread success, most rappers are forced to endure a series of hardships. But few have gone through the same kind of trials and tribulations that Gucci Mane has. Despite the pitfalls, Gucci Mane takes each moment in stride, both playfully and insightful.

After building up a solid buzz in the South in the early 2000s thanks to the overwhelming success of his infectious 2003 club anthem, โ€œIcy,โ€ featuring fellow up-and-coming Southern rapper Young Jeezy, Gucci Mane caught an attempted murder charge during a much-publicized beef with Jeezy and had to serve a year in prison. Upon his return, he released his debut album, Trap House, his stellar sophomore project, Hard To Kill, and his 2007 major label debut, Back To The Trap House, before eventually being forced to serve another year-long prison sentence for a probation violation stemming from a 2005 incident.

But Gucci Mane wouldnโ€™t let a second major legal battle stop his movement. Instead, he jumped into the studio for days at a time before his sentence started and recorded dozens of songs that he eventually released through his So Icey Entertainment and 1017 Brick Squad Records imprints while he was incarcerated to help keep his name alive in the streets. It worked, and by the time Gucci Mane was released in March 2009, his buzz was better than ever and he immediately started recording songs for what would become his second major label album, The State Vs. Radric Davis.

By late 2009, the album was finished. Featuring the smash singles, โ€œWasted,โ€ and โ€œSpotlight,โ€ featuring Usher, The State Vs. Radric Davis was shaping up to be the biggest release of Gucci Maneโ€™s career. While he had already enjoyed plenty of success in the South and routinely made thousands of dollars for performing at shows every night, the album was projected to move him into the upper echelon of rap. He looked like he was primed to end the year on a positive note. Unfortunately, he had one more hurdle to clearโ€”and it was a big one.

In November 2009, just a few weeks before the album hit stores, Gucci Mane found himself getting thrown behind bars again for breaking the terms of his probation. It was devastating for his fans, his followers and, most importantly, himself. โ€œUnfortunately, my incarceration also came at a pivotal point in my career, just as my first major label album was dropping,โ€ Gucci Mane admitted later. โ€œI was forced to miss what should have been one of the proudest moments of my life.โ€

He didnโ€™t let those moments go to waste, though. While in prison serving a one-year sentence, Gucci Mane wrote rhymes constantly, stayed in touch with his Brick Squad affiliates Waka Flocka Flame and DJ Holiday and set the stage for his return by releasing an official mixtape, The Burrrprint 2 HD, in March, which moved more than 15,000 units in itsโ€™ first week in stores. All of this prepared Gucci Mane to get back on his grind when he released from prison in May.

Tao Chicago Grand Opening September 2018

“Everyone has a story about that space.โ€

Thatโ€™s how Paul Goldstein summarizes peopleโ€™s reactions to his mention of the iconic, 126-year-old building that sits on the corner of Dearborn and Ontario, which has previously housed trendy (and not so trendy) nightclubs, from Castle to Excalibur.

Goldstein is a partner of Tao Group, the uber-successful clubstaurant company that is gearing up to open an extravagant destination in the granite-clad structure. Given that a certain generation of Chicagoans engaged in much debauchery there, the property is a fitting home for this new venture.

The group likes to fill vacant but storied buildings with new life (Tao Uptown in New York, for one, is in a former movie theater that was originally built as stables for the Vanderbilt family). The Chicago property, landmarked in 1997, exemplifies this affinity. Tao has restored the entire building, embarking on an extensive gut rehab. Workers have removed most of the interior floors to create a dramatic 34,000-square-foot restaurant and nightclub with soaring ceilings, akin to Tao Groupโ€™s other glamorous venues in New York, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles.

Filled with Asian art and antiques, the new Tao Chicago will be a hopping, see-and-be-seen spot. Its chefs will prepare dishes representing a variety of East Asian and Southeast Asian cuisines, including Chinese, Japanese, and Thai (donโ€™t use the word โ€œfusionโ€ to describe this;ย executive chef Mike Armstrong hates it). The menu will incorporate favorites from other Tao locations: the decadent tuna Pringle, for instance, a chip-shaped wontonย drapedย with thinly sliced premium tuna, heirloom tomato, and truffle, is coming over from LA. But it will also feature newย dishes unique to Chicago, like a kampachi sashimi served with fried olives, pea shoots, and a hajikami vinaigrette. Tao Chicago will also offer an expanded selection of steaks because, as Goldstein puts it, โ€œthe clientele here is more meat-focused.โ€

Tao Chicago is preparing to open in late September.ย A tip: if you venture in early, youโ€™ll be rewarded with 20 percent off everything for the first two weeks.

Only time will tell if Chicago will embrace this massive clubstaurant, but Tao Group is doing its best to make the space feel like a genuine part of this city. Its partners have spent months eating at local restaurants, observing what works here (approachable but impeccable service, complicated and challenging food) and what doesnโ€™t (anything that seems too exclusive).

As a result, Chicago will have a slightly different feel than Taoโ€™s New York and LA locations. Asย Goldstein says, โ€œLA and New York are sometimes more โ€˜velvet rope,โ€™ more difficult to get in, but we think in Chicago, itโ€™s important to be inclusive, to be part of things. There are no VIP rooms, there is no behind the curtains.โ€

Itโ€™s hard to imagine that getting a reservation at Tao will be easy, but at least you probably wonโ€™t have to bribe the bouncer to make it inside.
