Among the thousands of Las Vegas bachelor parties that Discotech has helped plan over the years, a handful stand out head-and-shoulders above the rest. One of these epic stag do’s took place in August 2018; it was a larger-than-life affair bringing together 20 amped-up gentlemen from the East Coast (NYC), West Coast (LA / SF), Dirty South (DC), overseas (Seoul, Korea!) and even a few Vegas locals for an unforgettable 3.5 days of revelry to honor the man of the hour: a perfect gentleman by the name of Woody.

Planning a Bachelor Party for a Large Group on a Budget

Why is planning a bachelor party for a large group so difficult?

  • Dinner reservations – limited number of places that can seat large groups, people have different cuisine preferences
  • Hotel rooms / suites – need to decide on location, negotiate a discount deal, and make sure that it can accommodate the group within their set budget
  • Activities – people have different preferences, not all activities can accommodate large groups
  • Nightclubs / pool parties – getting 4-5 people into a Vegas club can be a huge headache already; getting 15-20 – and all guys! – would be a nightmare, if not flat-out impossible, without a host.
  • Promoters – Many shady characters in Vegas nightlife seek to take advantage of naive visitors by obscuring the truth about how much VIP tables really cost and what amenities are included with the VIP experience; this dishonesty leads to customers getting hustled, their expectations not met, and their money spent inefficiently.

Discotech is your subject matter expert when it comes to planning large group trips to Vegas, and of course for bachelor parties of any size. Here’s how we helped Woody’s big group of twenty pull off the no-holds-barred bachelor party of a lifetime.

Case Overview

Discotech was able to create an unforgettable guest experience for our bachelor Woody, his Best Man and lead planner JB, and their large bachelor party entourage in support, due to our following core principles:

  • Responsiveness: Immediate, informative, and thorough communication with the Woody and JB at initial contact and frequently early on in the planning process
  • Transparency: Constant, accurate information disclosure in real-time, both in the months leading up to the weekend and in real time over the course of the weekend
  • Presence: Highly experienced host staff on-call and on-site during the bachelor weekend to ensure all events coordinated on schedule and on budget
  • Knowledge: With over two decades of experience held by Discotech and its Vegas local host partners, we know every in and out of Vegas nightlife and entertainment. This experience allows us to provide helpful input on any and every proposed idea, as well as build out best-fit itineraries for groups with little or no experience in Vegas party planning, based on what’s worked for our previous clients.
Execution: Flawless, mistake-free execution according to the agreed-upon and finalized plan and pricing – as well as rapid solutions to any unexpected itinerary and/or budget changes – has allowed Discotech to showcase that we are experts in our field and our service is unrivaled.
Martin Garrix at Omnia Nightclub, Las Vegas, Nevada (August 2018)

With Las Vegas nightlife services being such a competitive landscape, we needed to provide Woody, JB, and the boys a top-of-the-line itinerary full of Instagram-worthy moments to reward their faith in choosing us. The bachelor and his crew needed assistance with three basic tasks:

  1. Booking one of the premier luxury hotel suites on the Las Vegas Strip;
  2. Booking a Vegas nightclub VIP experience for Friday night;
  3. Booking a Vegas dayclub VIP experience for Saturday afternoon.

More importantly, they needed this task executed quickly and comprehensively, from a proven company with considerable experience and access to a variety of options to ensure best-fit final choices and no unexpected snags or hiccups for any of the guys in the group .

Once we got the green light from the ringleader JB that funds were collected from all participants and the per-event budgets set, we immediately set out to define โ€“ then blow through โ€“ the expectations for all of the attendees in their group. We knew that many of the attendees were experienced nightlife partygoers but somewhat new to the Discotech platform and services, and thus could become high-value repeat customers not only on future Vegas trips but on future party nights in their home cities. So, we made it a point to send intro emails to each of the 20 participants to let them know they were in good hands and also to elicit suggestions on how to make the weekend better. (A few of the guys came up with good ideas from past trips; others volunteered some hilarious – and some borderline raunchy – Vegas stories not quite fit for print here.)

Day 1 Bachelor Party Agenda Details (Friday)

Morning: Woody, JB, and a few others arrived earlier than the rest of the pack on red-eye flights from New York City; as a result, they were able to secure an early check-in to the group’s palatial resort digs for the weekend. With the advice of Discotech, they had booked the Forum Tower Duplex Suite at Caesars’ Palace – an older yet still well-kept cavernous two-story royal headquarters offering a convenient central Strip location and, more importantly, at a comparatively affordable market price for a large group luxury suite option with ample bed and couch space for 20 gents to crash together.

Afternoon:  With the group’s bachelor weekend WhatsApp chat set up and already on fire with inside jokes and memories from past party time, the rest of the bachelor’s crew began arriving into town and coordinating shared rides from the airport to Caesars’ to save some money.  All group members were instructed to drop their bags off at the suite and immediately report to Caesars’ Garden of the Gods – one of the best non-dayclub pools on the Vegas Strip – for the “welcome meeting” and drinks poolside with Woody.

Evening: With the bachelor being a huge sports buff, the group decided to forgo a run-of-the-mill fancy steakhouse and instead have a casual feast / boozefest / game watch at Tilted Kilt Las Vegas, the best sports bar – and one of the best bars, period – on the Las Vegas Strip.

Late night: No sir, this wasn’t a “walk the strip and barhop” group or โ€œcalm before the stormโ€ kind of night. A clubhead for nearly two decades since his high school days in Seoul, Woody knew from the start he wanted an epic night full of flashing lights, pulsating music, and lifelong memories at one of the best clubs in the world. The clear call was Omnia LV, which had global EDM DJ phenom Martin Garrix performing that night. Discotech and its local host partners were able to arrange for Woody’s bachelor crew the best prime dance floor table in the house hands-down, with phenomenal views of both the stage and Omnia’s world-famous dynamic giant spaceship light show installation descending from the ceiling in sync with the music.

Day 2 Bachelor Party Agenda Details (Saturday)

Daytime: POOL PARTY!! And not just any pool party, but Encore Beach Club – arguably the best of the top pool parties on the Strip (and in the world!) and one of Woody’s “Happiest Places on Earth.” We were able to arrange VIP table service at one of EBC’s poolside Lily Pads – a large orbital daybed in the water with a large umbrella offering shade. Not only that, through our long-standing door connections there we were able to get the guys the following upgrades at no additional charge to the group:

  • Prime section / table location with unobstructed views of stage
  • Central Lily Pad in middle of main pool and right next to packed dance floor with heavy foot traffic
  • VIP Bottle procession, presentation, and signage spelling out bachelor’s name
  • Complimentary spray champagne for bachelor
  • Two complimentary bottles of house vodka + mixers
  • Additional private security / bouncer staff for table

Afternoon / Early Evening: EBC hit its party peak from 2:30pm to around 4pm, but Woody’s group of extraordinary party animals stayed all the way until 6:30pm to shut the club down (and give away their excess alcohol bottles).  Afterward, the group stumbled back to Caesars’ to enjoy some free time and recover a bit; a group dinner was to be skipped and the arranged meet-up time was for 10pm. Individuals and small groups broke off and engaged in one or more of these common Vegas activities:

  • Grabbed a casual bite
  • Walked the Strip for sightseeing
  • Bought liquor and snacks for the night’s festivities
  • Went shopping
  • Napped / relaxed at pool
  • Scheduled in-room massage
  • Got in a quick workout at Caesars’ gym
  • Called wife / girlfriend / kids
  • Tried their luck at the blackjack, craps, and roulette tables

Late Evening: Everyone was awake from their naps, showered, and ready to go no later than 10:30pm. The first floor of the suite was the rendezvous point for the crew, and pregame drinks were ready in that room for everyone to hit the ground running.

Woody’s vision for Saturday night was not to hit the club once more, but to bring the club to him. With the large group size offering the unique opportunity and budget to do so and Discotech advising and contributing its local connections to organizing the logistics, the bachelor group was able to throw a “homies house party” inside of a spacious baller Vegas suite complete with a DJ, laser lights, live themed entertainment (stilt-walkers & fire-breathers), body-painted professional bartenders, copious food & drink, ice luges, drinking games, & fun friends old and new mingling.

The chosen theme for the bash in the two-story Forum Tower was “Heaven and Hell” and the results were nothing short of spectacular:

scenes from Caesars Palace private Forum Tower suite party - Las Vegas, Nevada
Angel and devil stilt walker entertainers and laser light show in Caesars suite party - Las Vegas, Nevada

Late Night / Early Morning: The suite party raged well past three in the morning, but as mentioned there were some SERIOUS party animals in this group. Some of the guys that weren’t too tired or too drunk to compete for the “Last Man Standing” Award did in fact make it to the out to the strip clubs in Las Vegas, a standard item on most bachelor party agendas. The selected destinations to put the final nightcap on this legendary Vegas bachelor party were Discotech’s top two choices: Sapphire Gentlemenโ€™s Club and Spearmint Rhino. (No pictures or stories from those events, of course.)

Bachelor Party Aftermath

Come Sunday morning, the post-party carnage in the Caesars’ suite was NOT pretty:

aftermath of suite party in Las Vegas

What WAS pretty though, was the stat sheet:

  • Damage caused to Forum Towers Suite (in USD): $0
  • Number of deaths or serious injuries: 0
  • Number of arrests / detentions: 1 (story for another time)
  • Number of flights home missed: 0

So… we consider that a YUUUGGE scoreboard win, and a successful Vegas bachelor party weekend on all counts!!! With many of the guys being highly experienced party veterans of Las Vegas and other cities, the standards and the hype were pretty sky-high going into the weekend. Still, Woody’s crew was able to live up to those lofty expectations and accomplish all of the group plans within its set budget, thanks in part to Discotech’s input and support. In the process, each of the fellas gained a positive lasting impression for Discotech, and we gained 20 new “power user” clients, a host of new friends, and a handful of tall tales to be told to future generations.

And our bachelor Woody? He was ecstatic his boys had a blast, he lived happily ever after, and he left Sin City on Sunday afternoon the same way he came in:

As a TOTAL saint.

Case Details

With Las Vegas nightlife services being such a competitive landscape, we needed to show this high-priority client why they should partner with us. The UC Berkeley Haas planning committee needed assistance with simplifying a complex task: booking large-scale dayclub and nightclub events and hotel room blocks. More importantly, they needed this task executed quickly and comprehensively, from a proven company with considerable experience and access to a variety of options to ensure best-fit final choices and no unexpected snags or hiccups for any of their individual attendees.

After months of working to win their business, we immediately set out to define – then blow through – the expectations for all of the attendees in their group. We knew that many of these attendees could become future repeat customers after graduation as they rapidly ascended the corporate ladders of their respective white-collar industries. Our most important strategic decision in the process occurred early on: to lean heavily on the expertise and know-how of our preferred local host partner Stupak Las Vegas, a renowned hospitality company with over four decades of large group logistics planning in Las Vegas and a stellar reputation within the Vegas entertainment industry.

UC Berkeley Haas Business School celebrating @ Light Nightclub in Las Vegas, Nevada in 2017

Part I: UC Berkeley Haas 2017 Las Vegas Party Planning

We first worked with this client on a limited scope engagement – 175 guests – in 2017; on that initial experience we put forth a considerable early effort to discuss and uncover their goals, budgets, and priorities. Our successful execution of that first go-round – combined with periodic check-ins over the next year – was instrumental in Discotech winning the much bigger repeat business in 2018.

In 2017, after gathering all information from the array of itinerary ideas presented by the Haas planning committee over a two-month window, we addressed all of their leadership’s concerns and then helped narrow down to the handful of best possible options, then presented and walked our client through multiple proposals. Even though our client continued to conduct dialogue with multiple competing Vegas nightlife companies, they decided to work with us again because of our demonstrated expertise working with large organizations, our strong relationships with each venue and hotel, and most importantly our proven ability to provide excellent service while staying within their budget.

The first step in the process was to secure hotel accommodations for the large group. With the help of Stupak’s high-level connections, we were able to secure exclusive hotel rates for far less than the rates available to the general public. We arranged for the group to stay at one of the best hotel resorts on the Vegas Strip – the Mandalay Bay Resort – in 65 Double Queen rooms and two large luxury penthouse suites. The nighttime venue they chose for the group’s party was Hakkasan Nightclub at the MGM Grand, where they did a buyout of half of the Main Room Mezzanine, a private and roped-off intimate balcony section overlooking the DJ booth. The group loved the energy and vibe inside of Hakkasan and were treated like super VIPs, thanks to the exclusive nature of the mezzanine setup, but more importantly to the strong personal relationships, our assigned door host has held and maintained with the Hakkasan door and podium staff since the day the venue opened.

The group spent the following day at Daylight Beach Club, the daytime pool party at the Mandalay Bay resort where they were staying. Out of all of the best pool parties on the Strip, we had selected and proposed Daylight to them for the following reasons:

  • Location: Knowing the group had gone pretty hard at Hakkasan the previous night, we wanted to make it as quick and easy as possible for all of the attendees to wake up, pull themselves together, and get where they needed to be on time to enjoy the festivities.
  • Layout: For a party as big as theirs, we knew that Daylight – one of the Vegas pool parties with the largest layout in terms of square footage – would offer the most spacious amount of real estate to allow the large group to mingle comfortably, while still staying within their budget.
  • Loyalty: We knew that Daylight would go above and beyond to treat the large group like royalty, since they were already staying on the Mandalay Bay property and spending a large percentage of their group and individual budgets at business on the resort premises.

As expected, Daylight offered the group a buyout of their elevated Grand Cabana section at far below their general list price, with private roped-off VIP access and a private service staff hand-picked from the best of their employee pool. We also arranged a dedicated no-wait, no-hassle expedited entry line exclusively for UC Berkeley Haas that each attendee could access regardless of their arrival time at the pool, with VIP wristbands secured for each member to ensure no confusion among Daylight’s door staff. With this top-flight setup, the group showed little signs of fatigue and splashed their way to a wet, wild, and epic Saturday afternoon of business school networking.

Part II: UC Berkeley Haas 2018 Las Vegas Party Planning

During our second year with the client, the Haas planning committee had gained full faith in our services and thus entrusted us with an ambitious goal: make their 2018 Las Vegas trip one of the best in the history of their business school. We were able to deliver on this ask because of an early start to planning, an acute understanding of the group’s timeline and dynamics, and of course the knowledge we had previously gained of the clientโ€™s goals, preferences, and pain points.

This yearโ€™s UC Berkeley Haas group was up to 225 attendees. Once again partnering with Stupak, were able to negotiate a highly discounted hotel net rate, a whopping 70 percent off the retail rate; not only were the rates cheaper than the previous year, we secured 700-plus-square-foot suites for each and every attendee at the Delano Hotel, Mandalay Bay’s luxurious higher-end resort-within-a-resort. Our clientโ€™s group stayed at the Delano in 60 double queen suites and two large penthouse suites. Our long-standing relationships with the executives of Mandalay Bay and Delano allowed us to secure room discounted inventory well in advance, as well as additional discounts and perks for the group being a valued return customer.

Diplo @ Intrigue Las Vegas, 2018

For the group’s signature evening activity, they opted to reserve a private area on the terrace of Intrigue Nightclub at Wynn Resort. Intrigue was selected because of our ability to secure a large yet private space within the group’s limited budget; the openness of the covered terrace patio area and the proximity to the DJ booth offered the best bang for their buck. Superstar electronic music artist Diplo was performing this evening; not only did the group receive a larger space close to the DJ, we were able to save them a ton of money and while still providing the same amount of alcohol and high-energy experience as they had the previous year at Hakkasan. The spring evening weather couldnโ€™t have been better, and the group enjoyed the unique beautiful outdoor layout and pristine modern architectural features for which the Wynn properties are known.

As for the daytime fun, Daylight was such a massive hit the past year that it was an easy sell for the sequel, and so we locked down the same area for our clients at an even better price. We made some slight modifications to the logistics, which resulted in an even smoother VIP entry experience and the group’s VIP bottle service credits lasting an hour longer than it did the previous year. As the cherry on top, we highlighted the group’s afternoon with an Instagram-worthy customized โ€œBerkeley Haasโ€ bottle presentation as well as multiple DJ shoutouts for the hard-partying group.

We are extremely pleased with the support we offered to the UC Berkeleyโ€™s Haas School of Business on its back-to-back Vegas trips, and even more so given that Discotech’s founders are proud Cal alums. We look forward to working with this highly valued client again in the near future. ROLL ON, YOU BEARS!!!!!

Discotech is your subject matter expert when it comes to planning corporate events and large group trips to Vegas. Here’s how we helped a large subdivision of established and globally recognized tech firm VMware plan a key component of their company’s annual VMworld Las Vegas conference.

Discotech was able to create an unforgettable guest experience for all of VMware employees and invited guests attending the event, due to the following core principles:

  • Responsiveness: Immediate, informative, and thorough communication with the VMware leadership planning committee early on in the process
  • Transparency: Constant and accurate information disclosure in real-time, both in the week leading up to the event and in real time as the event unfolded
  • Presence: Highly experienced on-site host staff to work with VMware leadership up to and including the day of the event and ensure all vendor requirements were coordinated on schedule

With a lot on the line and a relatively short timeline to do so, we enlisted the expertise and know-how of our preferred local host partner Stupak Las Vegas, a renowned hospitality company with over four decades of large group logistics planning in Las Vegas and a stellar reputation with the Vegas entertainment industry. With Stupak doing most of the heavy lifting on planning, the VMware Cloud Services Team was able to accomplish all of their company event goals within its budget while surpassing the discerning expectations of each attendee, in the process garnering a positive lasting impression among one of the world’s prominent and forward-thinking enterprise technology services brands.

Case Details

With Las Vegas nightlife services being such a competitive landscape, we immediately needed to prove both our expertise and our ability to act quickly for this high-priority client. The VMware Cloud Services planning committee required rapid assistance with creating and throwing a chic private party that would enhance VMwareโ€™s marketing presence and strengthen their brand recognition among potential and current clients. This would be a high-profile business development event, with numerous C-level executives and upper management captains of industry on the VMware Cloud Services invitees list.

More importantly, as they were operating within a relatively short planning window, VMware needed this task executed swiftly and comprehensively via a proven company with considerable experience and access to a myriad of options. Choosing the right local logistics provider would ensure a best-fit final choice and no unexpected snags or hiccups for any of their individual attendees. It wound up being a successful outcome on all fronts, thanks to our and our local partner Stupak’s extensive prior experience in planning similar convention-related events in the Las Vegas market.

VMware leader

Event Pre-Planning

Due to the sheer size of the overall VMware employee attendee group plus invited colleagues, clients, and other stakeholders – guests in total – Mandalay Bay Resort was packed that weekend with different teams hosting their own parties and events throughout the property. Our client VMware Cloud Solutions had approached us pretty late in the game – just three months before the conference was scheduled to take place – to discuss and bring together this dazzling post-conference private party.

Out of all of the available venues on the Strip, we had selected and proposed Mandalay Bay Foundation Room to them for the following reasons:

  • Preferential Access. Due to the notoriety and perennial popularity of Foundation Room, some other conference groups that weekend were NOT able to secure their event there despite placing general inquiries much earlier in the year. During busy conference days, demand for the top meeting space venues within Mandalay Bay Resort is extremely high; in fact, for weeks the hotelโ€™s events team publicly showed that spots such as the Foundation Room were completely booked at the time of VMworld. Thanks to our partner Stupak’s strong reputation, longstanding relationships with key decision makers at MGM Resorts, and successful prior event planning involving Mandalay Bay venues, our team was able to advocate on the customerโ€™s behalf to lock down the Foundation Room space and support staff well within their $200K budget.
Location. Knowing the group would have a long day of work conferences at Mandalay Bay, we wanted to make it as quick and easy as possible for all of the attendees to go back to their rooms to refresh, pull themselves together, and get where they needed to be on time to enjoy the event festivities.
  • Size. For a party as big as theirs – close to 350 guests – we knew that Foundation Room – one of the Mandalay Bay gathering spaces with the largest layout in terms of square footage – would offer the most spacious amount of real estate to allow the large group to mingle comfortably, while still staying within their budget.
  • Layout. The venue is located 63 floors high and gives visitors an exhilarating panorama of the world-famous lights of the Las Vegas Strip; in addition to breathtaking outdoor vistas, the dimly lit interior exudes intimacy and dark-toned luxury. We knew our client would love the space as a gathering background for high-ranking executives.
  • Loyalty. We knew that Foundation Room management and staff would go above and beyond to treat the large group like royalty, since they were already conducting their conference on the Mandalay Bay property and spending a large percentage of their group and individual budgets at business on the resort premises.

We knew our client would love the space, so we accelerated our standard planning process into overdrive in order to secure the venue that we knew would meet the clientโ€™s detailed vision. Furthermore, as we approached the finish line on negotiations, Stupak was able to utilize its years of built-up industry goodwill and success to ensure that VMware would get their party started at the exact time they wanted, with all the custom logistical details they had requested.

Event Execution

We delighted and impressed our clients and their guests with the following amenities:

  • Intimate custom lighting and decor
  • DJ / microphone setup
  • Premium open bar services
  • Sushi display with personal chef
  • Audio/visual kiosks throughout venue displaying VMware presentations
  • Branded swag available for guests to take home

Inside the lounge and on the terrace were premium open bars pushing drinks through quickly to excited attendees. Guests relaxed on plush outdoor leather couches and took in the spectacular views of the Strip; ample and equally comfortable seating was also offered in the quieter inside areas. The relaxed, casual setting maintained throughout the venue promoted socializing and conversation between the esteemed guests as they sipped on their cocktails. To further add a touch of class to the ambiance, a renowned sushi chef displayed his artistry in full view of the enthralled crowd and even created delectable custom bites upon request.

Private sushi chef for 2018 VMware party @ Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas, Nevada

Atmosphere models and other service staff also walked around the floor serving up warm and cold hors dโ€™oeuvres to clustered groups. To promote the clientโ€™s brand, we strategically set up TV monitors throughout the space with glossy presentations showcasing VMwareโ€™s Cloud Solutions products on loop. We also provided VMware branded hats, T-shirts, and other small items to promote the company brand.

VMware party indoor setup @ Foundation Room, Mandalay Bay Las Vegas

Discotech and our local host team partners not only planned the event, we assisted with venue setup, door management, and in-event crowd control / guidance. We helped manage the guest list, distribute wristbands, and photograph the event to document the experience. The attendee group loved the energy and vibe inside of Foundation Room and were treated like super VIPs, thanks to the exclusive nature of the indoor / outdoor setup, but more importantly to the strong personal relationships our assigned door host has held and maintained with the Foundation Room management and operations team since the day the venue opened.

VMware Cloud Solutions entrusted Discotech, Stupak, and its channel partners with an ambitious goal and preparation timeline, but in the end gained full faith in our services. We were able to deliver on their ambitious ask because of our deep connections and experience in Vegas, as well as our strong communication skills to understand the clientโ€™s goals, preferences, and pain points. The spring evening weather couldnโ€™t have been better, and the VMware attendees enjoyed Foundation Room’s beautifully unique layout and pristine modern architectural features for which the MGM Resorts Las Vegas properties are known. It was a pleasure to help our client, and we look forward to next year’s VMworld conference with the potential for even greater responsibilities.

Top 10 Best Bars on the Las Vegas Strip

The one thing that Las Vegas has no shortage of is laid-back places to get your drink on. No matter your price point, music preference, ethnic background, nationality or age, someone on The Strip is ready and willing to meet you at your idea of fun and hand you a stiff drink, in exchange for your dignity and your hard-earned moolah. Most of the time, that drink also comes with a warm smile, a welcoming ear, and witty chatter that may eventually lead to a memorable Sin City story. All up and down the Las Vegas Boulevard stretch, various bars offer up libations of the common and obscure variety to entertain the strip’s 42 million annual visitors. We’re not talking dayclubs or hip hop nightclubs, concert venues, or even fancy lounges. No sir or ma’am, we’re getting straight down to business here: you’re sober and thirsty, and Vegas has got your cure. Steel your heart and your liver, here are Discotech’s Top 10 best bars on the Las Vegas Strip.

1. Tilted Kilt @ the LINQ Promenade – $ – Center Strip

Kilt Girls bartenders @ Tilted Kilt Las Vegas

Repeat after me: Tilted Kilt Las Vegas is THE BEST sports bar on the Las Vegas Strip. There is zero hyperbole in this claim, as TKLV checks all the boxes off any list a customer could wish for from both a local sports bar back home and a fun-loving pub while on a hard-earned vacation. Great location? Check. (Stumbling distance from any Strip resort.) Theme party with sexy Vegas kitsch? Check. (Bawdy Scottish pub meets naughty schoolgirl fantasy.) Reasonably priced drinks? Check. (Some of the cheapest on the Strip, surprisingly.) Attentive, very easy-on-the-eyes service staff? Check. (See above pics… C’mon man, it’s Vegas!!!) Sports on every TV? Check. (Forty large plasma TVs and two extra-large projectors always tuned to live action, plus the Holy Grail: friendly floor managers that move quickly to fulfill any channel change requests.) Mouth-watering bar food? Check. (World-class buffalo wings, “Big Arse” Burgers, flatbread pizzas, loaded tater tots… the list goes on.) Turnt up parties on big occasions like St Patrick’s Day, Halloween, and NFL Playoffs / Super Bowl? Check.

Now a regional chain with franchises across Southern California, “The Kilt” as Vegas locals affectionally call it originally launched at the Rio Hotel & Casino in 2003 before moving to its current 9,000 square-foot two-story location at the LINQ Promenade in 2014. Everything about the venue screams “Touristy!” and yes, they purposely cater to the thousands of out-of-towners they see daily. However, you’d also be shocked at just how many locals are seated at Tilted Kilt’s bar on any given night, many of whom are hard-working salt-of-the-earth service industry professionals coming from or headed to another work shift on the Strip. This is what makes TKLV a truly special place: out of all the aforementioned boxes it already checks, it also checks the “friendly neighborhood bar” box where visitors and locals mingle, interact, root on their teams, and share light-hearted banter and stories over cold suds and strong spirits. Yes, Vegas has a handful of these all-around superstar bars spread out around town, just not any right on the Strip like this one. Born and raised in Sin City, The Kilt is a very much a Wolf of a local bar dressed in tourist Sheep’s clothing… and as their company tagline goes, “A cold beer never looked so good.”

2. The Chandelier @ Cosmopolitan$$$$ – Center Strip

A popular hotel choice and rendezvous point for the beautiful twentysomethings and thirtysomethings of the world since the day it opened, The Cosmopolitan continues to stand out from all other high-end resorts on the Strip by maintaining its modern style and sophistication while consistently adding new attractions. A hotel popular with well-traveled and well-heeled young foreigners as well as in-the-know locals, Cosmo has always attracted the cool kids crowd with its long list of buzzy restaurant/lounge scenes and its cadre of Instagram-worthy sights. Fitting right in with this ethos in the center of Cosmo’s first – and second! – floor is the glistening Chandelier Bar, arguably the crown jewel in the resort’s seemingly endless treasure chest of luxurious entertainment options.

Really though, nothing says Las Vegas like a multi-floor bar housed within a two-million piece crystal chandelier. Each level of the The Chandelier has its own vibe, but the second level is where first-timers belong: here the mixologists – some of the most knowledgable and highly skilled in the world – whip up otherworldly libations from a long list of foams, tinctures, purees, garnishes, and hard-to-find spirits. (The Verbana is our favorite – a must-try on your next visit.) The cocktails here are definitely not cheap, but they are artistic masterpieces that you’ll talk about with friends back home for months after your Vegas vacation. The upscale ambiance here makes it perfect for an after-conference business meeting, a first date rendezvous, or nightclub pregame people-watching and friends-making. So press and steam your best suit or cocktail dress – although the vibe is always relaxed, upscale cocktail attire is strongly encouraged inside the Chandelier – and brace yourself for an unforgettable bar night in Vegas.

3. Beerhaus @ The Park Vegas / T-Mobile Arena – $$ – North Strip

inside of Beerhaus at The Park Vegas, Las Vegas

Home to the NHL’s Vegas Golden Knights, semi-annual UFC megafights, and the biggest music acts of any genre swinging through Sin City – Metallica, Bruno Mars, Elton John, George Strait, J-Lo, and Ariana Grande are some of the megastars that have graced its stage – the 20,000-seat capacity T-Mobile Arena, built in 2016, is an ultra-modern gathering place. To complement the hundreds of entertainment dates scheduled at the arena annually – and also to draw tourists to the area on the few nights the arena is dark – the stadium grounds are bordered by The Park Vegas, an open-air cobblestone footpath lined with casual restaurants and bars that are perfect for T-Mobile pre-partying… and post-partying, since Vegas never sleeps duh.

The best of the bars in the bunch is Beerhaus, an uber-fresh take on the German beer hall concept that features craft beer and made-to-order high-end bar grub favorites – burgers, ribs, hot dogs, brats, soft pretzels, wings, tater tots etc. – using hormone-free meat and locally sourced produce. On any sports nights at the stadium, the place is packed more than two hours in advance and one hour after; even if you don’t have tickets to T-Mobile, Beerhaus is perfect for getting together with friends and watching your teams on one of the pristine flatscreens while taking periodic breaks to talk smack over a game of ping pong, Connect Four, or cornhole under the patio misters.

4. Gilley’s Saloon @ Treasure Island – $ – North Strip

Gilley's Girls cowgirl bartenders @ Gilley's Saloon Las Vegas, Nevada

It’s all country music all the time at Gilley’s Saloon, but that singular focus doesn’t stop this wild watering hole from being one of the best live music venues in Las Vegas of any musical genre. The Gilley’s recipe for fun is tried and true: take the spirited saloons of the Old West frontier days, add a dash of the sexy and fast-paced excitement of Las Vegas Strip, bring to a steady boil with non-stop country music heat, and pour on gallons of whiskey, moonshine, and Bud Light for a steady, long-lasting party.

Boots, buckles, and denim are common dรฉcor among visitors – especially on Vegas Locals Night Mondays where $2 drinks are served up – but the friendly barkeeps extend warm hospitality to the regular dressed folks as well. In fact, this place is the perfect spot for the country-curious, meaning those city slicker friends of yours who like that Blake Shelton, Dan & Shay, or Old Dominion song on the radio but are open to line dancing lessons (they offer them several nights a week), munching on Texas BBQ (they have quick-serve countertops), and being served cheap drinks by cute cowgirls while going deeper down the country music rabbit hole. Up-and-coming country bands perform live at Gilley’s 3-4 nights a week, and every so often a country music superstar in Vegas for a quick turn pops in unannounced for an intimate set.

5. Brooklyn Bowl @ the LINQ Promenade – $$ – Center Strip

bar area at Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas

Located on the LINQ Promenade just steps away from the High Roller Ferris wheel, Brooklyn Bowl is an ultra-hip upscale bowling alley, a well-loved restaurant by Vegas locals (their Blue Ribbon fried chicken is some of the best in the city), and a concert venue showcasing heavyweight names in reggae, alt-rock, and other lightweight music genres that have rabid followings. But its expansive bar area at the front of the spacious venue also shines as one of the best and most underrated drink stops in Vegas.

The craft beer selection showcases the best of East Coast and West Coast microbrews and rotates frequently, and perhaps even better than the beer is their bar food menu which offers high-end creative takes on the classics. Insiders tip: if you’ve got concert tickets, we highly recommend you come for Happy Hour (Mon-Fri, 5-7pm) and then stay for the concert afterward to avoid long waits in line. Except on the 1-2 times a month a major artist drops in for a more intimate show, Brooklyn Bowl is one of the more affordable ways to drink, eat, and catch live music on the Strip and thus always draws a crowd.

6. Mandarin Bar @ Mandarin Oriental – $$$$ – Center Strip

Vegas locals affectionately call this spot the โ€œCorner Barโ€ for its location tucked away on the 23rd floor of the Mandarin Oriental, but moreso as a clever tongue-in-cheek nickname evoking a shoddy dive when it’s actually one of the fanciest and prettiest environments for a cocktail in all of Vegas. The richly decorated space is always quiet enough for one-on-one conversations, whether youโ€™re celebrating a romantic milestone occasion with your significant other or a local looking to entertain an important out-of-town business client in a memorable way. It’s not about any crowd at Mandarin Bar, it’s really all about the views: through floor-to-ceiling glass, stunning skyline scenery in all directions enchants visitors and entices them to indulge in the high life.

And the high life you shall have, with complex cocktails showcasing innovative takes on classics punctuated with unconventional and hard-to-find ingredients such as smoked mandarin orange tea syrup. For example, their Mandarin Martini muddles oranges with fresh pineapple and lime juices, Hendricks gin, Aperol and simple syrup. Additionally, they carry a slew of original craft cocktails to ensure that your sensory experience of taste is on par with the delicious views your eyes are taking in at the top. Our favorites: Southern Punch, which is toasted pecan-infused whiskey, white rum, mandarin, lime, passion fruit and basil syrup, and Golden Knights, an ode to the home team playing a few doors down in the form of Toki Suntory whiskey, Sip Smith gin, Yellow Chartreuse and ginger syrup. Bottom’s up, from the top of Vegas!

7. PBR Rock Bar @ Planet Hollywood – $$ – Center Strip

Inside of PBR Rock Bar with mechanical bull

Deep in the heart of Tex… – ahem, Vegas – is another rodeo-themed gem of a drinking post. Located on the highly trafficked Strip side of Planet Hollywoodโ€™s famed Miracle Mile Shops, PBR Rock Bar & Grill is a Professional Bull Riders affiliated mega-venue that truly epitomizes the phrase โ€œa little bit country, a little bit rock โ€˜n’ roll.โ€ Rock Bar is a sprawling, modern, 16,800 square-foot backyard barbecue featuring two DJ booths, hundreds of big screen TVs lining the bar, and a massive hydraulic mechanical bull at its center, mounted and ridden in constant rotation by buxom staff and ballsy tourists.

The kitchen staff at PBR puts in big work with big plates and big flavors that truly capture the taste of the American Heartland: Chicken & Waffles, Smoked Brisket, BBQ Pork Ribs, and even secret recipes such as the famed Dorito Mac & Cheese. But as good as the food is here, it decidedly takes a backseat to the dranks. Rock Bar’s most memorable feature is its expansive outdoor drinking patio – cooling mist in the summer, heat lamps in the winter – that spills out onto the most coveted and most highly traversed real estate on Las Vegas Boulevard. The patio is packed nearly all times of the year and at all times of the day, the steady reservations traffic endlessly bolstered by walk-ups seeking to take advantage of PBRโ€™s awesome drink specials to quench their thirst at its specialty frozen drink bar or its three other full-service bars. Locals normally shy away from Rock Bar as this is a true tourist trap, but that doesn’t make it any less fun a time for the visitors who dismount from their saddles and mosey on in. Cowboy Up!

8. Beer Park @ Paris – $$ – Center Strip

So much for creative naming. Beer Park is designed with the goal of giving tourists a no-frills slice of Americana, but with all the frills of Vegas, baby, Vegas. The open-air entertainment venue, of which American mega-brand Anheuser-Busch is a strategic investor, puts forth a nostalgia-inducing atmosphere that mixes the feel of a classic baseball stadium with the communal charm of a suburbia park with all of the glorious food and drink favorites each has to offer. Similar to the Vegas Strip itself, this brand-new space was designed to bring people from all over the world together.

Inside Beer Park there is a 10,000-square-foot upscale “living room” foyer with parlor-style furniture seating arranged in circles to encourage meeting new people; outside there are Oktoberfest-style communal picnic tables for communal drinking and a grassy lawn to challenge strangers in friendly classic bar games like giant Jenga, Skee-Ball, Pop-A-Shot, darts, and billiards. But on top of all of these perks, Beer Park totally understands – and focuses on – sports as the great global unifier: it is one of just a few spots in Las Vegas to offer onsite wagering outside of a sportsbook, and gargantuan towers on each side of the main bar display multiple high-definition televisions that are ideal for watching the biggest sports matches of the day whether you’re a longtime die-hard or a new “fan” holding a $20 wager in hand.

9. Nine Fine Irishmen @ MGM Grand – $ – South Strip

crowded scene at Nine Fine Irishmen, Las Vegas

One of the city’s best Irish pubs, Nine Fine Irishmen was designed and built by Ireland’s top craftsmen and shipped piece by piece to Las Vegas. 9Fine brings the charms of the Emerald Isle to Las Vegas in other ways as well: food, spirits, camaraderie, and of course music. Your favorite Irish dishes – the ones you wolf down only on St. Patrick’s Day – are on the lunch and dinner menu perennially; an impressive variety of Irish beers and drinks will allow you expand your horizons past Guinness and Jameson. Happy Hour runs from Monday-Friday from 2-5 pm; While the restaurant closes at 11pm, the bar stays open until 3am (which makes it the most convenient pre-game / rendezvous point for groups headed to nearby Hakkasan Nightclub).

Once the alcohol starts flowing at Nine Fine Irishmen, the live music entertainment takes the stage to keep the crowd’s toes tapping. In particular, the energy reaches crescendo levels in the evening around 9:30-10pm, when the house band bangs out a mix of traditional Irish music, wild electric jigs and reels, and classic sing-along songs. Granted, the atmosphere here can get a bit rowdy and dodgy, especially during big soccer matches when 9Fine takes on the feel and atomsphere of an edgy Euro-style sports pub. That being said, getting tipsy and creating your own live performances by singing amateur karaoke at the top of your lungs is strongly encouraged here. For that reason, it’s impossible to leave Nine Fine Irishmen off any list of great Vegas bars. Erin Go Bragh!

10. Parasol Up @ Encore Hotel – $$$$ – North Strip

Parasol Up Casino Bar @ the Wynn Las Vegas

With its ubiquitous red and gold interior decor โ€“ lucky colors particularly to the wealthy Asian clientele that often frequent its casino floor tables โ€“ the Wynn and Encore have always been one of the most luxurious properties on the Vegas strip. In recent years, theyโ€™ve traded in their elitist vibe โ€“ without sacrificing any of the luxury โ€“ for a more high-energy fashionista cool to target those aspirational Millennials of the aughts and teens that now have money to burn in 2020. The Parasol Up bar on the casino floor next to check-in is usually the first watering hole at the resort to greet these wide-eyed, ready-to-rock visitors; for that reason, its energy and vibe is always running high in the hours leading up to the start of the weekend.

At Parasol Up, Wynn/Encore literally and figuratively rolls out the red carpet to greet you with great service, expertly made cocktails, scenic views of the waterfall and blossom-filled atrium… and of course those colorful parasols suspended from the ceiling to remind you that it’s Vegas and you’re not in Kansas anymore, Toto. Their signature drinks will having you seeing red as well: the Boysenberry Delight, featuring a boysenberry vodka exclusive to the resort, and the popular berry-topped Sinatra Smash. Parasol Up is a ideal group meeting point and classy prelude to the resort’s big draw for the hipper, younger set: their day and night venues that continue to showcase the hottest musical talent in the world including The Chainsmokers, Drake, and Diplo.

Evening concert in Las Vegas, Nevada

Top 10 Best Live Music Venues on the Las Vegas Strip

There is no shortage of live music to be found on the Las Vegas Strip. Cavernous, state-of-the-art venues with naming rights granted to well-heeled corporate sponsors host concerts for the biggest music artists in town, while all up and down the Las Vegas Boulevard stretch various lounges, bars, restaurants, and street performers offer up enticing song and instrument to entertain the strip’s 42 million annual visitors. Yes, the dayclubs and nightclubs of Vegas also do offer showstopping live performance spectacles featuring the best and brightest contemporary hip-hop night clubs and EDM in Las Vegas. However, if your musical tastes are less mainstream and more niche – think rock, blues, country, reggae, classical, or pop of yesteryear – and your party vibe more chill, then you’ll want to ditch the dance floors for comfy chairs, in-seat drinks, and great sight lines while watching your favorite artists perform live. And now, for some music to your ears, we present Discotech’s Top 10 best live music venues – big and small – on the Las Vegas Strip.

1. Brooklyn Bowl @ the LINQ Promenade – $$ – Center Strip

Packed house for concert at Brooklyn Bowl, Las Vegas

Located on the LINQ Promenade just steps away from the High Roller Ferris wheel, Brooklyn Bowl is an ultra-hip upscale bowling alley and also a well-loved restaurant by Vegas locals (their Blue Ribbon fried chicken is some of the best in the city). But where it really shines is as a concert venue showcasing heavyweight names in reggae, alt-rock, and other lightweight music genres that have rabid followings. Concerts here are standing-room only, but guests can also reserve VIP sections to the left of the stage which come with leather sofas, food/beverage table service, and use of the bowling lanes in between music acts (or even during, if you’re not a fan). Except on the 1-2 times a month a major artist drops in for a more intimate show, Brooklyn Bowl is one of the more affordable ways to catch live music on the Strip and thus always draws a crowd.

2. T-Mobile Arena$$$ – South Strip

evening concert at T-Mobile Arena

Home to the NHL’s Vegas Golden Knights and semi-annual UFC megafights, T-Mobile Arena is an ultra-modern gathering place (construction finished in 2016) that boasts a seating capacity of 20,000. It hosts the biggest music acts of any genre swinging through Sin City: Metallica, Bruno Mars, Elton John, George Strait, J-Lo, and Ariana Grande are just some of the megastars that have played the stage.

From a concertgoer perspective, the sight lines, acoustics, and lighting/pyrotechnics are what you would expect – A++ grade – and the venue has all the amenities and trappings of any of the big-city arenas on the back of your favorite band’s “World Tour” t-shirt. It even has its own upscale lounge – Hyde T-Mobile, run by the SLS Group of Hollywood and South Beach fame – which offers wonderful birds-eye views of the arena and VIP extras like bottle service and gourmet food. Oh, and did we mention that the venue is surrounded by The Park Vegas, an open-air street lined with casual restaurants and bars that are perfect for pre-partying? (And post-partying, since Vegas never sleeps duh.) There’s no intimacy to T-Mobile Arena: it’s new, it’s big, it’s corporate, and despite being flashy it’s borderline soulless. But hey, even if you have a soft spot for betting on those underdogs in Vegas, every once in awhile you should spend easy money to ride the big-dog favorite.

3. Rose.Rabbit.Lie. @ Cosmopolitan – $$$$ – Center Strip

Evening dinner show at Rose.Rabbit.Lie

A popular hotel choice and rendezvous point for the beautiful twentysomethings and thirtysomethings of the world since the day it opened, The Cosmopolitan continues to stand out from all other high-end resorts on the Strip by maintaining its modern style and sophistication while consistently adding new attractions. Rose.Rabbit.Lie. is a singular jewel in Cosmo’s treasure chest: an unpredictable and unforgettable amalgamation of theater, club, restaurant, and bar.

This modern supper club carries an exquisite and frequently rotating fine dining menu; dinner with a special date is highly recommended, but if your budget is more modest you can post up at the bar to enjoy a hand-crafted cocktail with the show. We can’t really describe the unusual type of entertainment you might see on any night, other than that live music and risque wardrobes will abound. Nor would we want to spoil the surprises in store for you, which you’ll talk about with friends back home for months after your Vegas vacation. So press and steam your best suit or cocktail dress – upscale cocktail attire is required here – and brace yourself for one wild night in Vegas.

5. Zappos Theater @ Planet Hollywood – $$$ – Center Strip

evening concert at Zappos Theater

The current version of Zappos Theater received an extensive facelift and new identity in 2000 after decades as the Aladdin Theater for the Performing Arts in the old Aladdin Hotel. Its current Planet Hollywood proprietors – backed by the same team of rich and famous LA investors including Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis, Demi Moore, and Whoopi Goldberg that helped replace Aladdin with the PH resort over a decade ago – modernized the theater’s appearance and amenities, which in turn has attracted bigger-name music artists and higher-spending customers.

One-third the size of T-Mobile Arena, the 7,000-seat Zappos offers concertgoers VIP tables with bottle service (including a free bottle of Moet Champagne), flatscreen TVs displaying multiple stage angles, top-of-the-line acoustics that crank out professional-grade vocal and background sound, and even a post-show artist meet-and-greet (for an additional cost, of course). Past resident performers at Zappos include Christina Aguilera, Gwen Stefani, and Def Leppard. Protip: it’s one of the few venues where parking is free, as it is located in the middle of Planet Hollywood’s Miracle Mile Shops which provides this nice perk to draw shoppers to the property.

Upcoming events at Zappos Theatre

6. The Colosseum @ Caesars’ Palace – $$$$ – Center Strip

Colosseum live concert venue at Caesars' Palace

Originally created for music icon Celine Dion’s much-hyped “A New Day…” residency in 2003, The Colosseum at Caesars Palace has hosted almost 2,500 events over its lifetime. A multimillion-dollar renovation on the venue while painstakingly preserving its iconic, luxurious ethos was recently completed in September 2019. Upgrades include a new state-of-the-art sound system, a ginormous high-definition LED video wall, refurbished seat cushioning to enhance guest comfort, modernized moving light fixtures, and enhanced lobby bars and merchandise sales kiosks. Trust us on this: if The Colosseum – new and improved, top of the line, shiny AF – is good enough for fussy mega-divas like Celine Dion, Elton John, and Mariah Carey, then it will be plenty good enough for you, and well worth your time and money.

Closest nightclub to The Colosseum: Omnia (in resort on first floor)

7. The Chelsea @ Cosmopolitan – $$$ – Center Strip

Concert at Chelsea at the Cosmopolitan

A hotel popular with well-traveled and well-heeled young foreigners as well as in-the-know locals, Cosmo has always attracted the cool kids crowd with its buzzy restaurant/lounge scenes and its cadre of Instagram-worthy installations. Fitting right in with this ethos, The Chelsea has hosted well-known artists over the years – Imagine Dragons performed on NYE 2019 – yet their sweet spot remains either up-and-coming acts just starting to get notoriety, or once-famous acts that still retain a strong cult following (e.g. Foster the People, Alice Cooper, Foreigner, Lenny Kravitz, Nas).

Rustic brickwork adorning the walls, quirky on-stage props and sculptures, and a vintage lobby bar are can’t-miss aesthetics for music lovers; the Cosmopolitan high-lifer will surely be drawn to the marvelous grand staircase and sparkling modern architecture on the walk up to his/her luxurious VIP gallery boxes. A more intimate venue with a capacity of just 2,000, The Chelsea consistently carries elevated demand for its upcoming shows – general admission tickets are standing-room only, and mid-priced assigned seating sections often sell out quickly, so plan ahead accordingly.

Closest nightclub to The Chelsea: Marquee Nightclub (in resort on second floor)

8. Park Theater @ Park MGM – $$$ – South Strip

park mgm las vegas at dusk

MGM Resorts is one of the founding fathers of live music entertainment in Vegas. Barbra Streisand – just a catchy hook for the EDM generation but the Adele of the Baby Boomer generation, ask your parents! – was the inaugural performer for MGM’s now-legendary Grand Garden Arena on New Year’s Eve 1994. The legacy of great entertainers continues twenty-six years later with MGM’s newest concert venue at its newest Strip resort. Formerly the Monte Carlo Resort and Casino, the upscale Park MGM Las Vegas opened in 2018 after a multimillion-dollar renovation, providing a casual and cool atmosphere catering to younger travelers (mid-twenties to early-thirties).

Its cozy 5,200-seat Park Theater provides intimate and immersive views and experiences that resonate with younger clientele; enhancing the audio and visual spectacle are a 140-foot wide stage, a 240-foot wide projection surface with projection mapping technology, and 9 gargantuan HD / 4K Projectors. The venue also features 7 separate bars and terraces with stunning views of the Las Vegas Strip, The Park, and T-Mobile Arena and as an added bonus is a short walk from the foodie haven that is Park MGM, where ultra-hip(ster) offerings such as Eataly and Roy Choiโ€™s Best Friend are must try nosh spots post-concert. So make those plans today to go gaga for Lady Gaga or turn back time with Cher: a walk in the Park Theater is as refreshing and as stress-free as… a walk in the park.

9. House of Blues @ Mandalay Bay – $$ – South Strip

Evening concert at House of Blues, Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas

Staying ever true to its Southern Hospitality theme across all of its worldwide locations, the House of Blues unveils for its Las Vegas version the intimate aura of an upscale Bourbon Street boogie. The stage and the music hall are the centerpiece of every HOB layout including this one; the area directly in front of the stage is first-come first-serve and standing-room only. Colorfully bold Mardi Gras vibes emanate from state-of-the-art audio/visual technology within an environment carefully crafted with the goal of bringing fans and the artists they love closer together. It’s a great venue for guitar-heavy musical genres; rock legend Carlos Santana loves playing here and visits several times a year to perform for swooning sold-out crowds. One of the most unique live music experiences in Vegas is the long-running House of Blues Sunday Gospel Brunch, where guests are treated to soulful performances of Gospel / R&B music while enjoying mimosas and a scrumptious Southern-style brunch buffet.

For that reason – the whole DIY aspect of live music creation – it’s impossible to leave Nine Fine Irishmen off any list of great Vegas live music venues. Erin Go Bragh!

Top 10 Best Luxury Hotel Suites in Las Vegas

If youโ€™ve already convinced yourself that your next visit to Las Vegas is an ultra-special occasion – the kind of occasion that necessitates a baller suite with a bottomless budget – then you’ll have plenty of amazing options awash in ridiculous head-spinning luxury from which you and your crew can select. Hey, you can’t take money with you to the next life, and Sin City has no shortage of once-in-a-lifetime accommodation experience to make sure that the money comes and the money goes.ย  Thereโ€™s a reason why thereโ€™s no state income tax paid by Las Vegas employees: millions of visitors a year foot those localsโ€™ tax bills via hotel taxes, entertainment taxes, sales taxes, and all other taxes on general debauchery (and stupidity). Las Vegas is not all about nightclubs, pool parties, or strip clubs it’s a city of luxurious hotels too. To whet your appetite for excess and get you in the mood to spend, here is Discotech’s Top 10 list of high-end luxury hotel suites on the Las Vegas Strip:

Sky Villas at Aria – Center Strip

Where the desert meets the sky, the sublime views warrant unparalleled luxury. Such is the essence of the Aria Sky Suites, the crown jewel in Aria’s treasure chest of sparkling accommodation options. Even before you lay eyes on your five-diamond suite, you get luxury airport transfer, private check-in, and in-villa spa treatments scheduled for the weekend. The 2,000-7,000 square-foot villas – ranked by Forbes Travel Guide as one of the Most Luxurious Hotels in the World – come with their own kitchen units, saunas, and pool tables, as well as access to the gorgeous private Aria Sky Pool overlooking the strip. And perhaps best of all, you can order in-villa dining from any of Aria’s restaurants, which are arguably the best collection of upscale dining optionsย  โ€“ CATCH, Javierโ€™s, Lemongrass, Carbone, Din Tai Fung, and Sage, to name a few โ€“ of any Strip resort.

Fairway Villas at Wynn/Encore – North Strip

interior of Wynn fairway villa

If the Fairway Villas were good enough for Steve Wynn himself, then they’ll surely be good enough for your sophisticated taste. Yes, the former owner of Wynn/Encore with his name on the building once lived in one of these stunning villas. Including Stevie Boy’s old haunt – now vacated – Wynn Resorts has 36 villas; the one-bedroom villas are 2,411 square feet and the the two-bedroom villas cover 3,224 square feet. Villas offer guests spectacular balcony views, dual marble bathrooms (with rain shower and bathtub, private massage rooms); bedrooms (with king-sized bed and 60-inch LCD high-definition TV); powder rooms, and living rooms with seating for eight and an 80-inch high-definition TV. As a final (or is it a beginning?) perk to set you apart from the masses, the Fairway Villas get their own private entrance and registration lobby, as well as a personal concierge. You’ll have plenty of room to get some rest and relaxation before heading to a Las Vegas hip hop nightclub.

The top four floors of Cosmopolitan’s Boulevard tower are dedicated to precisely twenty-one (in honor of Blackjack good luck) swanky penthouse suites masterfully decorated by a trio of world-renowned interior designers (Daun Curry, Richmond International, & Tihany Design). Spectacular unimpeded views of Las Vegas landmarks from the penthouse balconies include the Bellagioโ€™s dancing fountains, every dazzling light on the Strip from north to South, and the colorful Red Rock mountains and cliffs far out on the horizon. Inside the palatial property the view is even better: youโ€™ll enjoy one-of-a-kind amenities such as birdcage swings, marble statues, and full bars stocked with top-shelf cigars and liquor.

Chairman’s Suite at Venetian – North Strip

The Chairman’s experience begins when your flight touches down at McCarran – a stretch limousine with an obnoxiously large Venetian logo on the window whisks you away, to the disgust of the onlookers in the airport’s 45-minute taxi line. A private check-in concierge and 24/7 dedicated staff gets you from arrival to the cavernous master bedrooms (yes, the unit has two!) of your 8,000 square foot “office” in less than ten minutes. Also coming in twos are jaw-dropping bathrooms: mini-spas equipped with whirlpool tubs, steam showers, and his-and-her facilities. Alas, you only get one living room, so you’ll have to settle for one with an L-shaped bar, solarium, fireplace, conference room for Chairman “business” of course, and… an indoor garden for finding your moment of zen. You’re all set, boss – time to get to “work” on mapping out your ultimate Vegas weekend adventure.

Hardwood Suite at Palms – Off-Strip

Billionaire real estate moguls and former NBA franchise owners Joe and Gavin Maloof conceived this “Only in Vegas” idea once upon a time (nearly 20 years ago) when they simultaneously owned and operated the Sacramento Kings and the Palms Hotel. This unforgettable signature suite at the Palms spans two levels and 10,000 square feet and is outfitted with an oversized jacuzzi, a pool table, a professional-style locker room for your squad’s ridiculous Vegas wardrobe changes, and of course a 100% necessary indoor basketball court complete with an electronic scoreboard, varnished hardwood floors, and pro-quality fiberglass backboards. With a master bedroom for each of the two captains and โ€œNBA-sizedโ€ luxury foldout beds for the role players, two five-man pickup b-ball teams can make this suite their raucous home court for a championship Vegas weekend. Vegas might be a grueling road game, but who says you can’t have home-court advantage for it?

Chairman Suite at Bellagio – Center Strip

chairman suite at bellagio resort & casino, las vegas

The Roman-style Bellagio Resort & Casino is instantly identifiable by its marvelous fountains and eight-acre lake that surround the property, and theatrics abound once you step inside. The hotel has dozens of restaurants and bars, the casino, premier shopping, and even botanical gardens and a conservatory with rotating art each season. The Chairman Suite is located in a private corner of the hotel, and the 4,075-sq-ft suite can host up to six guests. Enter through the mosaic- and marble-floored foyer into the suiteโ€™s lofty living room, with double-height ceilings and a large fireplace. Dramatic views over the Bellagioโ€™s iconic fountains and the glittering lights of the Las Vegas Strip delight from large windows in each room. The contemporary suite is the ideal space for entertaining: Thereโ€™s a solarium, indoor garden and fountain, fireplace and L-shaped bar. Youโ€™ll also have access to VIP seating for โ€˜Oโ€™ by Cirque du Soleil and premium seating at any MGM restaurant or club. But let’s admit: on this particular Vegas trip you really need a little pampering and a lot of drinks… so you’re more interested in your villa’s accompanying 24/7 on-call butler/bartender, aren’t you?

Nobu Villas at Caesars’ Palace – Center Strip

Nobu Villas at Caesar's Palace

OK, so you don’t really aspire to be like that Steve Wynn guy. But hey, we heard you sing in the shower and so we know that you DO aspire to be like Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, or P. Diddy. In that case, Nobu Villa is the spot if your head is in the clouds and you’re shooting for the stars. Here smack in the center of Sin City you can stay in the villa where many entertainment stars like to shack up – a place where tranquil elegance pours cold water on the hissing in-your-face overabundance running rampant out on the Strip. You’ve got over 10,300 square feet of expansive freedom, luxuriously outfitted with refreshingly minimalist decor that pushes zen and meditative arts (without being too pushy, of course). Just woke up from your nap and have a few hours to kill before your full-body massage next nap? No problem, the Nobu has its own game room, sauna, steam shower, and a 4,700-square-foot outdoor terrace for you to engage in, um “relaxation techniques” of both the tame or risque variety.

Ultra Panorama Suite at Planet Hollywood – Center Strip

Ultra panorama suite at planet hollywood, las vegas

If you’re the high-energy type that didn’t come to Vegas to sleep and want to lose yourself in the blur, Planet Hollywood’s ultra-hip Ultra Panorama Suite is for you. From your wraparound room with floor-to-ceiling windows you’ll have a front row seat – long, curvy, supple leather couch seats to be exact – to the Stripโ€™s non-stop flashing, blinking light show and the hordes of passing foot traffic below. The room decor and color tones are bright and bold, conveying – nay, screaming – a tone of contemporary elegance and confident luxury. PH knows you came here to go hard or go home, so it’s given you a home base for you to go hard: luxury bedding, a soaking tub, and an oversized fridge for storing your favorite post-party recovery (or re-up). What hangovers may come, this party suite will make them disappear in short order.

MGM Grand – The Mansion – South Strip

Outdoor courtyard entrance, The Mansion, MGM Grand Las Vegas

A marvelous architectural masterpiece inspired by an 18th-century Florentine countryside villa, The Mansion – on the MGM Grand property but largely invisible to passersby on the Strip – is a hidden fortress of luxury, privacy, and pleasure. As exquisite as the service is – complimentary airport pick-up in a Rolls Royce or Maybach, โ€œdream butlersโ€ at your beck and call, and personal concierges to plan any conceivable Vegas experience is just the start – the sheer grandeur mixed with careful attention to each minute detail is what will really blow you and your guests away. The largest of The Mansion’s villas – a four-bedroom behemoth pushing close to six figures a night to rent out – comes equipped with steam/sauna showers, a separate jacuzzi bathtub, private elevator access, indoor swimming pool, salon, media room, study, exercise room, bar, and billiard room. The Mansion is a playground for the wealthy and uber-famous to let their hair down and have Vegas-style debauchery without the risk of prying eyes and camera phones. Case in point: a certain Hall of Fame fighter is a Mansion regular, and on major fight weekends he throws epic parties where guests are invited to drink unlimited top-shelf liquor while attempting to stuff themselves into carry-on suitcases to win the legend’s money. #OnlyInVegas

Mandalay Bay – Penthouse Superior Suite at Delano – South Strip

interior of Penthouse Superior Suite, Delano Mandalay Las Vegas

The Delano brand epitomized white-hued South Beach style and splendor for nearly a decade before making its way to Las Vegas. This trademark splendor has been uprooted from beach to desert and painstakingly replicated in its sprawling 1,642-square-foot Penthouse Superior Suite within the Mandalay Bay resort. Not-so common “common area” features include a spacious living room layout with plush lounge seating, a gold tree-trunk coffee table, bronze-accented lighting fixtures, and a separate cocktail room for hosting parties or just enjoying the high-life balcony views with friends. The “see and be seen” vibe definitely made it from Delano East over to Delano West… but we certainly don’t blame you if you wanted to just hole up in your sparkling hideaway all weekend and do neither of the two.

Top 10 Best Hotels on the Las Vegas Strip

If youโ€™ve already told yourself that youโ€™re indeed one of those party animals that wants a memorable experience full of luxury and modern amenities โ€“ and you are willing to spend coin to get it โ€“ then you should to move early to lock down a good room rate at one of the top Las Vegas hotels.ย  Take it from us experts: there are a handful of magnificent Strip resorts that are head and shoulders above the rest of them, ones that offer all the trappings you desire in the central location you want and are conveniently right smack dab on The Strip. ย

There are many reasonably priced and solid options on and off the Vegas Strip, but the Las Vegas that most out-of-towners want to experience is the one of sheer opulence, fast money, gluttonous excess, glitzy sensory overload, and high-stakes swings in fortune.ย  And of course, Las Vegans (hilarious, but yes thatโ€™s what theyโ€™re called) play the fiddle in tune because โ€œa fool and his money are soon partedโ€ as the old saying goes.ย

Here,ย  in order of our highly experienced customer service staffโ€™s preferences, is our Discotech top 10 list of hotels you want to visit โ€“ and stay at, if you can โ€“ on the Las Vegas strip in 2020:

1) Aria – $$$$ – Center Strip

Aria glitters like a new jewel in the desert night

A glittering center-strip jewel rising from the desert floor, Aria is one of the largest hotels on Planet Earth: 4,004 rooms, including 568 suites and two distinct AAA Five Diamond hotel products. State-of-the-art rooms and suites are a given; for the more discerning client the exclusive Sky Suites โ€“ 1,000-7,000 square-foot villas with private check-in and elevator, dedicated lounge, goodie bags, and Sky Pool access โ€“ offer even more opulence and white-glove service. Even better, Aria houses arguably the best collection of upscale dining optionsย  โ€“ CATCH, Javierโ€™s, Lemongrass, Carbone, Din Tai Fung, and Sage, to name a few โ€“ of any Strip resort. ย They know that the way to your heartโ€ฆ and your walletโ€ฆ is through your stomach, donโ€™t they?

2) Wynn/Encore – $$$$$ – North Strip

Wynn/Encore details capture Steve Wynn's meticulous vision

With its ubiquitous red and gold interior decor โ€“ lucky colors to the wealthy Asian clientele that often frequent its casino floor tables โ€“ the Wynn and Encore have always been on of the most luxurious properties on the Vegas strip. In recent years, theyโ€™ve traded in their elitist vibe โ€“ without sacrificing any of the luxury โ€“ for a more high-energy fashionista cool to target those aspirational Millennials of the aughts and teens that now have money to burn in 2020. Sleek, modern rooms showcasing Steve Wynnโ€™s famed attention to detail start at 640 square feet and offer floor-to-ceiling windows, signature Wynn Dream beds, luxe linens and marble bathtubs. But the big draw for the hipper, younger set remains the on-site entertainment options, including nightlife venues that continue to showcase the hottest musical talent in the world including The Chainsmokers, Drake, and Diplo.

3) Cosmopolitan – $$$$$ – Center Strip

Cosmo casino floor

A popular hotel choice and rendezvous point for the beautiful twentysomethings and thirtysomethings of the world since the day it opened, The Cosmopolitan continues to stand out from all other high-end resorts on the Strip by maintaining its modern style and sophistication while consistently adding new attractions. The choice of well-traveled and well-heeled young foreigners as well as in-the-know locals, Cosmo attracts the cool kids crowd with its buzzy pool/bar scenes and its cadre of Instagram-worthy restaurants. (Our favorites: Eggslut, Momofoku, Beauty & Essex, and of course the Secret Pizza speakeasy.) Spacious, boldly decorated rooms with amenities like Japanese soaking tubs and spectacular views from outdoor balconies โ€“ itโ€™s one of the only Strip properties to have them, for safety reasons โ€“ await wide-eyed and deep-pocketed hotel guests. Itโ€™s a resort you often never leave upon arrival, because the five-star experience is to be had whether youโ€™re chillinโ€™ in your room or wildinโ€™ out in the 24-hours-a-day party atmosphere on the Cosmo casino floor.

4) Venetian – $$$$ – North Strip

Canals at Venetian Las Vegas

Now one of the oldest four-star-and-up properties on the Strip, Venetian has aged gracefully: itโ€™s every bit as fetching, well-maintained, and fun-loving as a botox-blessed Italian cougar. Grandeur and opulence inspired by the charming canals of the great city of Venice (duh!) is the overriding aesthetic, from grand white marble columns to blue-hued painted cloud ceilings to the trademark canal that winds through the Shops at Venetian, complete with singing gondoliers and hawking merchants. Venetian originally pioneered the now common โ€œall-suiteโ€ accommodations with rooms featuring separate sitting areas, grand bathrooms and spacious layouts larger than most Milanese apartments. If moneyโ€™s no object, book your stay at Prestige at the Palazzo โ€“ a massive spread which comes with continental breakfast, a live piano player on request and complimentary wine โ€“ and secure the Stage Cabana at the newly renovated Tao Beach for an epic and indulgent Saturday afternoon scene.

5) The Linq – $$$ – Center Strip

Linq - Vegas Strip's best kept secret

Surprised to see this 3-star property on the list? Donโ€™t be. Much like that of a Vegas Fight Weekend headliner, the Linqโ€™s penchant for punching above its weight when it comes to luxury has long been known among hardcore Vegas insiders and locals, and youโ€™re likely still in the dark. The youngest sibling in the Caesars family โ€“ and perhaps the one with the most spunk โ€“ the Linq was renovated, rebranded, and relaunched in 2014 with an emphasis on targeting fresh-faced Millennials. ย As a result, the rooms are very modern, contemporary, and ultra-clean and the casino floor still has a bit of that โ€œnew carโ€ smell and look. ย The โ€œaffordable luxury at its finestโ€ extends to the fabulously comfortable rooms; there are also room options for a crowd that have two queen beds and an extra lofted bunk, which is good if youโ€™re hoping to make new friends or one of your crew decides to join the Vegas jaunt last-minute. On-site luxurious spa treatments and hangover IV services are great perks; there are also in-room fitness carts stocked with yoga mats and foam rollers available to guests free of charge.ย  But what sets this hotel head and shoulders above the rest: LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. ย Itโ€™s right smack in the center of action, walking distance or a $6-8 Uber / Lyft from practically every Vegas Strip resort where youโ€™d want to party and meet friends (or strangers). ย  And if youโ€™re too partied out to wander far from your bed? ย No problem, you can step right outside the hotel and spend your hard-earned paycheck enjoying numerous award-winning restaurants and bars at the Linq Promenade, or even getting some fresh air and sun onto your face by flying high above the strip on either the High Rollerย ferris wheelย or the FLY LINQ zipline.

6) Bellagio – $$$$ – Center Strip

Bellagio fountains at dusk

With its world-famous Bellagio fountains out front-and-center mesmerizing Las Vegas Strip visitors with dancing water light shows every 15 minutes, the Bellagio is the epitome of understated elegance. Visitors with refined tastes and a preference for decades-old wine over stiff cocktails will enjoy a stay here: Bellagio lavishes visitors with spacious rooms and suites that are classic in look and feel yet referbished with all modern trappings (fast wi-fi, mood lighting, and soaking tubs). The magnificent horticultural gardens on the first floor near the main lobby rotate seasonally and are worth a visit and a few pictures on every Vegas trip. Insiders tip #1: Bellagio has the most luxurious sports book in Vegas, and demand for seating is through the roof every Saturday and Sunday during football season. Insiders tip #2: Bellagio also has the liveliest yet most friendly poker room on the strip, with games at all levels running 24/7 and chatty regulars who will smile and tell you great stories in between competitive hands.

Closest nightclub to Bellagio: Mayfair After Dark (in resort on first floor)

7) Caesars’ Palace – $$$ – Center Strip

Caesars Palace Forum Shops

The casino resort that defined Las Vegas luxury for baby boomers was re-introduced to and lionized by the 40-and-under set via the 2009 smash-hit movie “The Hangover.” A decade later, Caesars’ Palace continues to be a must-visit resort on the Strip, owing to proximity features like a sprawling pool area, the hottest club in town (Omnia), a massive shopping center (Forum Shops), and nearly 4,000 comfortable rooms and suites. Architecturally, guests are transported back to the time of Maximus via impressive sights such as the Forum Tower, the Augustus Tower, and eloquently carved statues of historical figures offering bold welcomes (and can’t-miss selfie moments). Feeling extra baller this weekend? Grab your entourage and follow in the famous footsteps of Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, or Drake to rent out the 10,300-square-foot Nobu Villa with its massive terrace, steam shower, and game room.

Closest nightclub to Caesar’s Palace: Omnia (in resort on first floor)

8) Sahara – $$$$ – North Strip

SLS hotel is now Sahara

Formerly the SLS Casino, this resort is under new ownership and relaunches as the Sahara in early 2020 (funny enough, it had been called the Sahara for decades prior to SLS taking over). Once again, the property has been fully gutted and carefully remodeled to make way for a hip, modern, luxury-oozing hotel halfway between Downtown and center Strip. Discerning guests will opt for a room in ultra-posh the all-suite Lux Tower with its French motifs and exclusive in-room dining menu. For regular guests, one of the 1,500-plus Philippe Starck-designed standard rooms with numerous artistic touches will suit them just fine. The casino floor eatures a 50,000-square-foot casino floor with 600 slot machines and 60 table games, as well as a visually arresting giant LED cube in the ceiling and some of the most underrated mid-level dining options in all of Vegas (Northside Cafe is one of our personal favorites).

Closest nightclub to SLS: XS (@ Wynn next door)
Closest dayclub to SLS: Encore Beach Club (@ Encore next door)

9) Mandalay Bay – $$$$ – South Strip

Mandalay Bay shines in broad daylight

The giant Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino is every bit as luxurious as the other resorts on this list, it just no longer exudes that “exclusive” feel as do many of the others. It offers a ton of family-friendly amenities (wave pool, streaming lazy river pool, shark reef aquarium, kid-friendly eateries), and that mainstream appeal is what brings constant crowds and long lines especially in the summer. Add in intermittent air traffic noise (it’s across from McCarran) and inconveniently long rides to center or south Strip locations, and the venue can take on the feel of Disneyland instead of Sin City. Which is fine if you’re with young ones and don’t want to (or can’t) stray too far from home base: all of the hotel’s 3,209 rooms underwent renovations in 2016 with TVs, minibars, bathrooms with separate tubs and showers, and ultra-comfy beds, so why not “staycation” and lord over your temporary castle?

10) Park MGM Hotel – $$$ – South Strip

Park MGM from Strip at dusk

Formerly the Monte Carlo Resort and Casino, the upscale Park MGM Las Vegas opened in 2018 after a multimillion-dollar renovation, providing a casual and cool atmosphere catering to younger travelers (mid-twenties to early-thirties). The rooms and pool are slightly above average but so new that you’ll be happy with them; the true stars of this resort are the restaurant offerings. The goal from the get-go was for Park MGM to be aย foodie haven, and with ultra-hip(ster) offerings such as Eataly and Roy Choi’s Best Friend that box has been checked. The speakeasy and nightclub On the Record – the upscale brainchild of LA-based Houston Hospitality, one of the most successful nightlife brands in Hollywood – blasts 80s, 90s, and 2000s hip-hop and is packed nightly with nostalgic millennials (and older millennial wannabes) from open to close (also check out more Vegas hip hop night clubs here). On top of that, you can go gaga for Lady Gaga, turn back time withย Cher, or kick off your golden night watching NHLโ€™s Vegas Golden Knights (next door at T-Mobile Arena). For those of you that love that new new, this is the walk in the Park that you want to take.

Ultimate Superhero’s Guide to Clubbing in Las Vegas

โ€œAnybody’s got the powerโ€ฆ They don’t see it ’cause they don’t understand.  Spin around and round for hours. You and me we got the world in our hands.โ€   โ€œHeroesโ€ – Alesso featuring Tove Lo (2014)

Think back to a past visit to Las Vegas, when you and your friends found yourself standing in line in front of the entrance to a pool party or a nightclub.  Walking up to the front of the massive queue, how was your confidence that things would work out smoothly for you? Be honest: was your level Superhero, or Average Joe?

Going to a nightclub or a pool party in Las Vegas is a MUST whether itโ€™s your first trip or your 27th trip (weโ€™re not judging).

The party scene here is no joke – donโ€™t expect to just walk up to the door and think theyโ€™ll let you in so easily. Oh no – this is the biggest mistake that we see thousands of tourists do every week. Donโ€™t worry, thereโ€™s an app for that – Discotech makes that whole process so smooth youโ€™ll wonder why youโ€™ve never downloaded it. Letโ€™s check out the top 3 ways to get inside to the best Las Vegas nightclubs and Las Vegas pool parties – superhero style!

Sin City: the epic battleground for Good vs. Evil

Why is the Vegas Club Scene So Complicated?

Part of the allure and popularity of our cherished epic summer blockbuster movies is that the heroes –  the โ€œgood guysโ€ – always win. In Vegas, thatโ€™s often NOT the case: villains and shady characters abound in the streets of Sin City, and they have made large fortunes and long-term careers taking advantage of visitors through cryptic double-speak, sleight of hand, and games of chance with stacked odds.  Nowhere has this been more rampant than in the cityโ€™s nightlife industry, particularly over the past few years as performing artist talent has gotten bigger and expectations higher, and the competition among clubs for entertainment dollars has gotten more and more intense.

Global Citizens of the World, fear such villains no longer.  Itโ€™s the dawn of a new day, and Discotech is here to save you.  Repeat after me: Average Joes (and Plain Janes too!) can indeed be Superheroes in Vegas for a weekend.  Yes, you heard right: ordinary people can step into their phone booth (or their hotel room), make their costume changes, and step out as well-heeled and well-prepared crusaders against the dark and nefarious forces of Sin City.

In Vegas, the superheroes go by the hidden-in-plain-sight code name of โ€œVIP.โ€  The term VIP is a well-worn acronym that has historically stood for Very Important Person. The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines VIP as โ€œa person of great influence or prestige; a high  official with special privileges.โ€ So when we talk about VIPs, you might think weโ€™re referring to celebrities, musicians, political dignitaries, and figures of similar stature and notoriety who spent years earning their titles and respect.

No, no, no. You see, Las Vegas is a fantastic futuristic landscape where a superhero can be made overnight, simply by discovering one magic talisman –  a precious gemstone singular to the multiverse that unlocks a multitude of hidden superpowers.

That talisman is the Discotech app.  And no need to journey on a daunting heroโ€™s quest to find it – you just download it for free in the App Store or Google Play.

Discotech mobile app screenshots

So now that youโ€™ve got the key to greatness in your hand, just what kind of Superhero can you become?  Well, taking a riff from Marvel Comicsโ€™ smash-hit superhero franchise The Avengers, your destiny will most certainly lie in one of the following three paths:

Superhero Level 1:  Guardians of The Galaxy – Guest List

If you and your friends like to roll out to clubs in large amorphous group sizes to hit the dance floor and rub elbows with the ordinary citizens – or even if you like to roll out as a lone wolf so no one else will guilt you for failing to get in – then accessing the guest list signup feature through Discotech is the route for you.  You have the โ€œanti-superheroโ€ superhero traits of being carefree, spontaneous, unselfish, and (literally) able to check your ego at the door.

Many Las Vegas clubs have guest lists to entice people to arrive at their party early, in order to add more capable bodies to the epic fight against evil (in the form of an empty club that scares big spenders away).  Think of it as Tony Stark inviting the lovable but ultimately less powerful Star-Lord, Gamora, Rocket, and Groot to do their part in the battle against Thanos – they may not be the difference makers, but the more the merrier!

Guest list line
YOU ARE GROOT?  Oh, OK. Yeah, youโ€™re on the list – youโ€™re good, Groot.

Las Vegas Guest List Pros:

  • Usually provides free or discounted admission
  • Usually free for females
  • Sometimes comes with extra perks (open champagne bar, open vodka bar, etc) โ€“ usually for girls only
  • For certain clubs on certain nights there are even ratio guestlists โ€“ this means you can get in free / discounted if you have even ratio in your party

Las Vegas Guest List Cons:

  • May not be offered or opened at all for expected high-demand shows and holidays.
  • May be closed at any time, often earlier than expected if demand for a show surges late and/or the venue hits its targets for ticket and VIP table sales.
  • Lines for the guestlist option usually have lower priority and move slower.
  • Typically require earlier arrival – sometimes before the hours a club is known to be crowded – in order to be extended the benefit

You should consider using the guestlist if:

  • You are a group of all girls
  • If the DJ or performing artist playing  is not a top-tier talent โ€“ generally itโ€™ll be less crowded and guestlist will stay open longer.
  • Your group is very good at mobilizing and arriving on time
  • Youโ€™re not sure if you want to go to a club or event, but you want to keep your options open

Guest list to all Las Vegas clubs and pool parties are available on the free Discotech app!

When Dr. Strange saw Chainsmokers was performing, he decided to travel back in time to buy presale tickets for the crew.

Superhero Level 2:  Dr. Strange – Presale Tickets

If youโ€™ve seen Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, then you know who was the most prepared character out of the all-star superhero cast: Dr. Stephen Strange.  Benedict Cumberbatchโ€™s calm, cool, collected rendition of the risk-averse Dr. Strange makes it impossible to cheer for the smug jerk even though he was on the โ€œgood guysโ€ team: he knew so much about what was going to happen that he consistently came off as a smug know-it-all to everyone.  Thatโ€™s what itโ€™s like when you have the foresight to purchase presale tickets. Youโ€™re a superhero that leaves nothing to chance, calculating all odds and visualizing all the potential outcomes prior to choosing stability, voice of (financial) reason, and ultimate peace of mind. Discotech boasts the largest inventory of official presale ticket links aggregated into one convenient app for you to browse and access.  Itโ€™s like seeing into the future and stopping time – Dr. Strange would certainly be on board with that!

Presale Ticket Pros

  • Presale tickets 99.9% guarantee that you will get in that night
  • Presale ticket lines more often than not move faster than guestlist lines
  • Presale tickets are always cheaper than paying the door cover price upon arrival
  • Buying a ticket gives you the the peace of mind and option of going later in the night
  • Some venues have promo codes that let you save a few dollars per ticket

Presale Tickets Cons:

  • Presale tickets cost money, whereas the guestlist might be free or discounted below the presale ticket price
  • If you canโ€™t make it for whatever reason, you canโ€™t get a refund on presale tickets (you can usually sell the ticket at the club or on a secondary ticket market though)
  • Presale ticket lines more often than not move slower than VIP tables lines

You should consider buying tickets in advance if:

  • Itโ€™s a big DJ or performing artist or holiday and you donโ€™t want to chance the guest list being cut
  • Your group is bad at mobilizing and canโ€™t make it to the club early
  • You want to have peace of mind and not worry about rushing to get to the club early
  • Your group is all or mostly males, but you donโ€™t want to pay for bottle service (yes itโ€™s often cheaper to get presale tickets over a VIP table, but sometimes not by that much; if you have a large enough group of guys, bottle service can oftentimes be a very good value play)

Superhero Level 3: Iron Man – VIP Table / Bottle Service

[SPOILER ALERT.] In the epic war of good against evil, there are some superheroes that rise head-and-shoulders above all others: Superman, Wonder Woman, Black Panther, Captain America, Iron Man.  The latter – citizen name Tony Stark, the self-proclaimed โ€œgenius, billionaire, playboy philanthropistโ€ (played phenomenally by actor Robert Downey Jr.) – took the unofficial title of team leader of the Avengers squad defending the universe against Thanos, its most nefarious threat to date.   That being said, even a man as powerful and as respected as Tony Stark could not achieve success without A) his cadre of Elite Superhero friends by his side and B) a glove full of shiny magic rocks in his teamโ€™s possession. You can think of Discotech as just that – your Infinity Stones glove that will allow you and your crew to unite and triumph over the dark forces of Vegas and become an epic legend.

So what is the life of this Elite Vegas Superhero, aka VIP table / bottle service, like?  Well first off, you get to watch the crush of ordinary citizens standing outside the nightclubs in need of saving part like the Red Sea, clearing a wide path for you and gawking as you arrive on the scene.  You are greeted with respectful deference by the gatekeepers, attended to immediately, and whisked into venues with no wait. You have white-gloved concierges to open gilded doors for you, beautiful women to escort you to your prime location booth, and handsome men to set up and guard your coveted space.  Finally, your service comes with a ridiculous heroesโ€™ welcome: a mini-party with confetti showers, light shows, garish signage, and blinding pyrotechnics. Your ultimate triumph over darkness truly is THE good lifeโ€ฆ if youโ€™re not on any kind of restricted budget, of course.

Bottle Service Pros:

  • VIP entry.   No cover, no wait, expedited hosted walk-in for up to the number of guests stated in your selected option.  So, no presale ticket admission or cover charge is required in addition to the amount paid for a table; itโ€™s included in the package.
  • Real estate. A comfortable place to sit, put your things, and hang out with people you actually like without people you donโ€™t know or care for invading your space or interrupting your conversation.
  • Assigned security staff.   They monitor your section all evening, controlling crowd flow when you are present and watching over your space and belongings while you are away from the table.  (Also, the more personable ones will take a small gratuity to scan the dance floor and pull attractive strangers into your space to meet and chat with you.)
  • Convenience.  At your table you receive a food and beverage credit to order from the club’s menu in the amount of the minimum spend – no need to keep trekking to the bar and waiting in an ungodly line.  Also you get private service staff all day to pour your drinks, keep your section clean / organized, and answer any random questions you have about the club, the industry, and the ending of any Marvel superhero movie.
  • Social lubrication (guys).  If youโ€™re a guy, you can more easily bring girls back to your table – who doesnโ€™t want to talk to a guy who looks/acts like Tony Stark or Bruce Wayne?
  • Social lubrication (girls). If youโ€™re a girl, you donโ€™t have to endure painful conversations with Clark Kent to get free drinks, and you can more easily bring Superman back to your table.
  • Perks: If you are celebrating a special occasion (i.e. birthday, bachelor/bachelorette party, graduation, anniversary, going-away party, or returning home from military deployment), most clubs will roll out the red carpet for their high-spending VIP table service holders. Royal treatment may include special signage,  light show presentation plus a procession of attractive staff members presenting the bottles to your table, and a complimentary champagne or round of shots.

Ladies and gents: Tony Stark and Tโ€™challa are in the building!

Bottle Service Cons:

  • Price.  Bottle service can be orders of magnitude more costly than gaining entry through guest list or presale tickets, particularly for group sizes below 8.  Might not be an issue if youโ€™re throwing down a corporate credit card or daddyโ€™s credit card, but if youโ€™ve got a regular 9-to-5 job it can dent your bank account pretty quickly.
  • Misinformation.  When youโ€™re spending this much money, youโ€™re going to have MANY people after your business, including many of those shady characters we mentioned above.  There will be a lot of information floated to you, and often that information is NOT accurate in real-time and is just an attractive ploy to win your business (with an ugly bait-and-switch or missed expectations looming on the tail end).  By booking through Discotech instead of an often inefficient middleman third-party promoter, you will usually get a better price, more reliability, and better service. Even if the price is the same, you still get the latter two benefits by using Discotech, as well as access to the true decision-makers at every club, quick responses to your questions, and the invaluable benefit of a dedicated 24/7 helpline for answers and advice on the fly.  You’ll notice as you continue to browse the Discotech app that more and more that our posted pricing is accurate and competitive; there are various reasons for this, but the ones that are the easiest to explain are that:
    • We drive traffic to clubs in bulk, so we get the most legitimate discounted rates on the market
    • We work with the top VIP directors at every venue who are three levels above hosts or promoters; these VIP directors are authorized to give out better prices
    • Like Uber or Lyft, we utilize technology to service customers faster – leading to shorter lead times and cheaper labor costs and thus no need to artificially mark up prices.
  • Jealousy.  People will look at you from the GA areas and hate you cuz they ainโ€™t you.
  • Ummโ€ฆ wow, that really is it for the cons.

You should consider bottle service if:
