The Abbey

The intertionaly popular gay bar/gay club Abbey gives patrons a collection of lounges, outdoor terraces and exclusive cabanas giving unlimited event options, from private cocktail parties to large-scale celebration dinners. The inner dance floor and raised DJ area, finished with viewing booths, provide the perfect location for any party.

The adaptable space offers a truly unparalleled locale—a casual, yet beautiful mix of indoor and outside spaces unparalleled in Los Angeles. A preference of celebrities, locals and tourists alike, there is no better place to meet old friends, make new ones, enjoy a generous 10-ounce martini, eat a delicious meal created by Chef Danny Elmaleh, and just kick back and have fun. Known as a West Hollywood institution, home of the Gay Walk of Fame, Elizabeth Taylor’s favorite pub, and a community center, The Abbey is one of the premier gay / lesbian nightlife experiences in West Los Angeles

The Birdcage

The Birdcage is one of the hottest VIP bars in Santa Monica. Located on the top floor of The Victorian, this VIP bar is full of fun vibes and tasty cocktails. The laid back atmosphere and upscale decor makes for the ideal place to have a night out with all of your friends.

Dress up or remain casual, either way you are guarenteed to enjoy yourself among the great crowd of socialites. The Birdcage is a place for guests to be free so that they can let their personality shine while having the best night of their life.

Trunks

Trunks is West Hollywood’s popular gay sports bar. They is the friendly, provide a great place to share cocktails, and a short walk from several other gay bars in the area. After 25 years, they remain the place for fun times and good cocktails.

They have added wonderful new outdoor patio…. and have exploded out onto the sidewalk! Now you can relax in they’re new outdoor patio!. Alcohol can be brought outside from the bar to the patio … You’ll LOVE the FUN!

Girl Bar

Organized by Robin Gans and Sandy Sachs in 1990, GIRL BAR has grown and become the largest dance and entertainment club for lesbians in the US. Since moving to LA from New York in the late 80’s, Sachs and Gans identified the need for an upscale nightclub catering to the lesbian community.

The thought was simple: to give the most compelling events, in the most elegant of surroundings with the sexiest women in town. Today, their spirit continues to grow and set a model of excellence in the lesbian and gay community.

Hi Tops Bar

Hi Tops is the newest bar to open up in Weho’s Boystown that stands apart from many of the boring new spots around. It’s the second location of the extremely successful SF bar and though the high school gym locker aesthetic is a bit heavy-handed, there are lots of diverse welcoming areas for you and your friend group to stand around and party next to the very attractive crowd.

But what makes this place so successful? They are known for serving the best cocktails in the neighborhood. So rather of your usual vodka soda, we advise for the mezcal-heavy Magic Hour, or The Claw, which is made with gin and cardamom bitters.

Mother Lode

Many are happy to report that Mother Lode remains to be resilient in these unstable times. The bar is open for business during a restoration of sorts. Yep, the oldest gay bar in West Hollywood is getting a facelift to stay competitive with all the excellent new additions that are budding all over Boystown. The bar’s owner Robert Yacoubian, who prefers to be called Bob, says the bar is here to stay, that the new additions are impresive, and that the bar will remain a staple of West Hollywood’s gay history.

“We’re simply adding a patio in the front,” Bob tells WEHO TIMES, “It’s going to go five feet out. It will be surrounded. There will be bush trees on both sides. There will be a big awning that will come out over it with heaters and lights. The front will be open, so people will be able to step out and walk around. The doorway is coming out. It’s going to be nice. The feedback we are getting is all good.” Hopefully they finished renovation will live up to the hype.

Rage

Rage is one of the hottest spots in WeHo as of now. The club is know for its fun atmosphere, upscale feel, and the good times to be had. Fair warning, the crowd can be very young, which to many might be a good enough reason as any to frequent the place. If 18 and older, this is the place for you.

The best thing about Rage is Musical Mondays, a magical night where people get together and lip-sync to famous theater video clips. Next to that, it’s a very interesting club and home to Weho’s only 18+ night.

Bootsy Bellows

Bootsy Bellows has been an L.A. nightlife staple since it entered the scene in 2012, and has been under renovations since August 2018 with John Sofio of Built, Inc. to design and bring the revamped space to life, this time with a more homey aesthetic.

Drake’s personal sound guy was brought in to work on the DJ booth and speakers, embedded LED lights were added to the walls and ceilings to put on custom light shows. A VIP table is highly recommended, you can book bottle service at Bootsy Bellows here. Bootsy Bellows open on Tuesday, Friday and Saturdays, 11 PM – 2 AM.

The celeb-faved nightlife gurus at H.Wood Group are at it again. Hyde Sunset

Meet Hyde Sunset, the huger, patio-wrapped-restaurant reincarnation of SBE’s infamous celebrity hideout, now with former Whist/41 Ocean chef Chris Crary in the kitchen—opening Sunday at the old XIV space in West Hollywood. It looks like a great dinner-date spot in here. A moody room of raw woods, Eastern carpets and hanging metal sprockets that all cultivate a breezy, arty Beachwood Canyon cabin vibe. For, well, a this-section-of-Sunset crowd. Entry is at the doorman’s discretion. We highly recommend bottle service at Hyde Sunset.

PRO TIP: Make dinner reservations around 8:30 PM and enjoy free access to the nightclub an hour our two later when things transform.

Nightingale

Landing just up the street from celeb hangout The Nice Guy on La Cienega in STK’s former space, the whimsical concept bar will be open Thursdays, Fridays and Monday from 10 PM to 2 AM.

In the former Greystone Manor location, this buzzy nightclub from sbe is home to a thumping dance floor; two adjacent lounges that are more demure but no doubt clubby; and an oasis-like patio. Despite futuristic touches like mirrored ceilings and LED walls, Nightingale Plaza has a vaguely “European courtyard” theme, which explains the trippy, floral wallpaper throughout. Expect signature, pricey drinks like the Smart Blonde (Absolut Citron, St. Germain, Limoncello, lemon juice, simple syrup) and the Tequila Mockingbird (Avion, lime juice, honey), and of course, bottle service. Nightingale is the hottest Sunday party in LA. Entry is at doorman’s discretion; bottle service at Nightingale is highly recommended.

Upcoming events at Nightingale

1 OAK

Meet 1 OAK, a New York–exported club heavy on champagne, hip-hop and already-frequent DiCaprio sightings, now open in the former Key Club spot.

What this leads to: a massive ballroom of excess, with chevron floors, a massive marble bar, tan leather booths and… braille-studded paintings of gorillas. (Maybe to remind you again, as bottles swarm around you, of how far we’ve come as an evolved species.)

So, yeah, your night: big party situation. Someone in your group probably procured entry through the purchase of bottled spirits and table girls. Someone might be celebrating an Oscar nomination. Someone might exchange pleasantries with Jay Z and Bono, who’ve also been by.

Entry is at doorman’s discretion; bottle service at 1 Oak is highly recommended. Open Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10 PM to 2 AM.

Upcoming events at 1 Oak

Delilah

Delilah brings a modern approach to the vibes of the roaring ‘20s with American cuisine and Art Deco characteristics. Eating, drinking, and dancing converge in this luxury space and are tastefully crafted so you can repeat all three without ever skipping a beat. Live performers & surprise acts with lounge-style bottle service following dinner hours. Entry is at the doorman’s discretion. We recommend booking bottle service at Delilah.

Delilah is open 6:30 PM – 2 AM Tuesday through Saturday night.

Upcoming events at Delilah

Raspoutine

Meet LA’s newest hot spot, Raspoutine. The latest French import comes in the form of a nightclub: Paris’ Raspoutine has officially opened its doors in West Hollywood.

“We tried to bring something that doesn’t exist and something that was maybe missing here,” says co-owner Alexander Ghislain, who owns the four global Raspoutine locations with Logan Maggio.

Open on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 10:30 PM to 2:00 AM.

Entry is at the doorman’s discretion, bottle service at Raspoutine is recommended.

The Nice Guy

We get why Kendall had her 20th birthday there, Kylie had one of her many 18th birthday parties here, and why all the Jenners, Kardashians, Hadids, Baldwins, and Justin Bieber are spotted there just about every weekend; it’s super dimly lit (a tribute to The Rat Pack) and feels like you’re inside one big private party. Welcome to The Nice Guy.

You, too, can live like you’re in a celebrity Instagram photo by booking a VIP table at The Nice Guy here. (Walk-ins are not welcomed.) And make sure you dress the part, because that door doesn’t mess around.

Doheny Room

Mood lighting? Check. Celebrity sightings? Check. Bare-legged, high-heeled model types? Check. It’s 9 p.m. on a Saturday night inside Doheny Room

Sandwiched between two landmarks, the Troubadour music venue and Dan Tana’s restaurant on Santa Monica Boulevard where West Hollywood meets Beverly Hills, the lounge-like eatery has quickly become the area’s newest spot to see and be seen since its soft opening in late April. Alicia Vikander, Chris Brown, Caroline Vreeland, Vanessa Hudgens with Ashley Tisdale – and, fascinatingly, Keanu Reeves with Winona Ryder – have all been spotted. Ready to commit? Make VIP bottle service reservations at Doheny Room here.
