Marquee Dayclub Dome Open Every Saturday 2016-2017

A common lament of visitors to Las Vegas in late fall comes with the discovery that Las Vegas’ legendary pool parties are not a year-round affair.

While most casino swimming pools stay open all year long, the Las Vegas dayclub pool party scene — complete with big-name DJs, high-wattage light shows and bikini-clad throngs grooving between cabanas with high-priced bottle service — is closed from mid-October until spring.

The Marquee Dayclub Dome at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, however, keeps the party going by bringing the club indoors — or more accurately, bringing the indoors to the club, which otherwise is an outdoor party destination. This is the third year that the Dome has been in service.

The dome is semipermanent structure made of a glasslike fabric that weighs 106,000 pounds and covers nearly 30,000 square feet of pool area at The Cosmopolitan. It comes complete with a sprinkler system and other safety features made necessary by the disappearance of the Harmon Hotel next door, which changed relevant wind patterns. Temperatures inside can be maintained between 80 and 90 degrees.

In previous years, the indoor dayclub was open for just a few special dates. But this year the Marquee domed dayparty will be in full swing every Saturday through the winter, until pool season officially kicks off in March.

EDC 2016 Las Vegas Event Calendar

Hundreds of thousands will again flock to Las Vegas for the return of Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC), set for June 17-19, 2016.

Held for the fifth year at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, EDC is one of the largest events of its kind in the world featuring over 200 DJs, 500 theatrical performers, carnival rides, large-scale art installations, state-of-the-art lighting and sound production across seven stages, and fireworks at the close of each evening.

Surrounding the three-day festival is EDC Week, which includes a variety of club shows, pool parties, and the fifth annual EDMbiz conference for electronic music professionals.

In town for the festival, the DJs all end up playing extra shows at Vegas’s night and day clubs during the week.

Le Jardin Los Angeles – Grand Opening July 2015

The Hollywood bar scene is known for its dark private rooms and crowded dance floors. An outdoor garden with olive trees and plenty of fresh air? Not so much.

Le Jardin, is the newest lounge from Sunset Entertainment Group (Lure, Cabana Club, Green Door, White Lotus, the Sunset Room), and it features a garden inspired by the south of France.

Designed by Gulla Jonsdottir of G+ Design, Le Jardin has a large patio with olive trees, vines and fire-pits.

While you’re lounging on a plush breton-striped booth, you can sip a La Vie en Rose cocktail, made with rose wine, Belvedere citrus vodka and simple syrup, while a live band plays music.

The lounge will open with just cocktails, but a full French-inspired menu is planned for July.

Le Jardin will be open 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. Thursday to Saturday and 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday.

Le Jardin Bottle Service available on the Discotech app.

We also have a Le Jardin guestlist on available for Saturdays – available on the app!

Craze at Sunbar Brings Dayclubbing to LA

Los Angeles has the right weather for it, but proper day clubs here are few and far between.

Sure, the rooftop of the Standard Hotel downtown is a mainstay, the Roosevelt Hotel’s pool gets its share of parties, and SBE’s XIV Yacht Club just set sail with it’s maiden voyage last Sunday.

Stephan Seguin, the former top honcho at SBE’s Create superclub in Hollywood, has teamed up with Peter Famulari of Skybar fame and events guru Michael Utsinger to bring proper daytime clubbing to L.A.

They’re calling the venue Sunbar, and it debuts this Saturday (yes, on the Fourth of July) with a weekly day party called Craze. The venue is the reimagined courtyard garden of the historic Hollywood Athletic Club on Sunset Boulevard.

“It’s beautiful garden, and we redid all the cabanas and added some elevated seating,” Seguin said. “We made it a lot more pleasing to the eye.”

For now, the daytime festivities are limited to Craze Saturdays from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. It will run until winter really starts to bite, whenever that might be, Seguin said.

The day club will include an indoor game room, a pool table, beer pong, Xbox games, checkers, popcorn machines, carts with frozen fruit, a cotton-candy machine and a 30-foot “stripper pole” used by aerialist performers.

“Most important,” says Seguin, “the bar will be all mixology —  high-end craft cocktails.”

He also promises “many pretty faces.”

But what about the most important part, the music? It seems that, for now, Sunbar will eschew the growing cheese of day club EDM in favor of “deep, sexy house” and “vocal, sing-along hip-hop,” Seguin says.

The day will open with a proper, two-and-a-half hour house set before the hip-hop reaches for the night.

Admission for ladies will be at the door’s discretion. For gentlemen, cabana reservations with bottle service is the only way to go.

XIV Summer Sessions is Back at Boardwalk

Summer’s arrived – which means the return of day drinking, sun dresses, tank tops, and yacht parties.

Don’t own a yacht? SBE has you covered with their new night/dayclub concept – Boardwalk.

Located at the old Colony at Cahuenga and Hollywood, SBE’s roofless new party spot is primed for some good old Sunday debauchery that’s got all the awesomeness of a boat party without the seasickness. Summer’s here and XIV Summer Sessions is back in full swing.

Imagine you’re standing on the blond-wood deck of a yacht gone full Jordan Belfort. Let’s see, there’s thundering beats from big-name DJs in a dinghy draped with bikini-wrapped dancers. Confetti dumping. Bottle service delivered on wooden lifeboats. Champagne spraying. Anchors, life preservers and… assorted Hollywood-issued flotation devices.

So when you need to extend a weekend beyond normal limits, you’ll head here with friends and enter XIV Yacht Club—that’s what they’re calling their Sunday party, and each week the vibe will change to invoke a different “port,” like Maui or Saint-Tropez. For Memorial Day, it’s Camp Pendleton.

Saturday nights will be Asian night, put on by Go Productions LA. Friday nights TBA.
