Halsey has officially called off her long-postponed Manic World Tour.
The 26-year-old pop superstar took to Twitter on Friday (Jan. 22) to announce the cancellation, citing health and safety concerns due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
“Safety is the priority. I wish things were different,” the singer captioned a screenshot of the announcement. “I love you. Dreaming of seeing your faces again.”
The North American leg of Halsey’s Manic World Tour — in support of her third album of the same title — was initially scheduled to begin in June 2020. The trek was later postponed to the the summer of this year. She did, however, manage to play some European dates last March prior to the shutdown.
Now, with uncertainty about the virus still looming, Halsey has opted to cancel the Manic tour altogether and issue refunds to ticket-buyers.
“Despite our absolute best efforts, there is no guarantee I’ll be able to tour the currently scheduled dates,” the singer wrote in a statement. “I miss seeing all of you in the crowd every night more than anything, but I need to prioritize your health and safety. That being said, the Manic tour is now officially canceled. As much as we wanted to hold out hope that this tour could eventually happen, our priority is now getting your ticket money back to you immediately.”
Since the COVID-19 pandemic struck in early 2020, thousands of concerts, tours and festival around the world have been postponed or canceled in an effort to slow the spread of the virus.

The Backstreet Boys were slated to hit another round of tour dates supporting their 10th studio album this summer. However, as the coronavirus pandemic continues, the boyband had to postpone the trek to 2021.
“As much as we were looking forward to seeing you all this summer, our number one priority is the safety and wellbeing of our fans,” Backstreet Boys said in a statement. “We are officially postponing the DNA North American tour. Make sure you hang on to your tickets, because you know we’ll be back again! An announcement will be coming your way next week. Stay safe and stay home. Love you guys.”
The second round of the DNA tour – which included 45 dates – would have kicked-off on July 10 in Wantagh, followed by gigs in Washington, D.C., Darien Center, Chicago, and Salt Lake City. The group was set to appear in arenas and outdoor amphitheaters across the country including Concord Pavilion, San Francisco’s Shoreline Amphitheater, Hartford’s XFINITY Theater, the PNC Music Pavilion in Charlotte, and Phoenix’s Ak-Chin Pavilion before wrapping-up at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl early October.
Backstreet Boys are touring in support of DNA, which dropped in January 2019. The record, which features smash-hit singles “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart” and “Chances,” follows 2013’s In A World Like This and This Is Us from 2009.

After releasing one of the most popular albums of the year in After Hours, The Weeknd was understandably excited about a massive arena tour. Unfortunately the coronavirus pandemic put the kibosh on that, but the Canadian pop star has now announced that he’s rescheduled those tour dates for the summer and fall of 2021.
“The After Hours (Rescheduled) Tour” kicks off in Vancouver in June, exactly one year and a day after it was originally set to commence. The 67-date trek criss-crosses North America until October, at which time he’ll take the show to Europe. All of his old performances have found a new home except for a November stop in Glasgow, the exact time of which is still TBD. He’ll be joined on tour with openers Sabrina Claudio, Don Toliver, and Black Atlass. Check out the full schedule below.
Of course, some healthcare experts think concerts won’t return until fall 2021, and if those more pessimistic predictions are correct, this won’t be the last time these tour dates are rescheduled.
