EDC 2021 Lineup Announced

At long last, the 2021 EDC Las Vegas lineup has been revealed.

Alison Wonderland, Knife Party, Martin Garrix, DJ Snake, The Chainsmokers, deadmau5, REZZ, Seven Lions, Kaskade, and many more are primed for performances at the festival at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, scheduled for October 22-24.

Insomniac is set to debut a new stage at their flagship music festival this year, the kineticZEN themed stage at kineticFIELD, which will feature a performance from Kygo as well as a hotly anticipated collaborative DJ set from SLANDER and Said The Sky.

ZHU and Zedd will throw down at cosmicMEADOW, among others, while Testpilot (deadmau5’s techno alter alias), Patrick Topping, and Eric Prydz are set to rock circuitGROUNDS. neonGARDEN will offer immersive live art installations to go with a curated house and techno lineup, which flaunts Belgian superstar Charlotte de Witte and legendary South African DJ and producer Black Coffee.

One of the festival’s potential highlights could take place at bassPOD, where the three members of Pendulum Trinity—Rob Swire, Gareth McGrillen, and Paul Harding—will reunite for their first performance of a brand new show concept in North America. SVDDEN DEATH’s sinister VOYD alias will also make an appearance for what promises to be one of the most bass-heavy sets of the fest.

Coachella Returns in 2022 – Register for Advanced Ticket Sales

The Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival will return to Indio Valley for two consecutive weekends of cross-genre programming to be held across April 15 – 17 and 22 – 24 of 2022. The dates, confirmed by festival coordinators on June 1, validate prior speculation that the next iteration of the California event would take place in April of 2022.

The revelation of the 2022 dates marks the end of a long and tumultuous period for the festival’s parent company, which was forced to postpone Coachella three times in less than one year due to COVID-19-related health concerns. The successive postponements culminated in an absence of Coachella operation for the first time since 2000.

Headlining acts for the original 2020 dates were in high demand, including Travis Scott, Frank Ocean and, prospectively, Rage Against the Machine. Though the performers for the festival’s formal reactivation have yet to be named, those planning to attend the desert event can register here for access to the 2022 advance ticket sale. Tickets will go on-sale June 4 at 1:00 p.m. ET / 10:00 a.m. PT.

austin city limits lineup 2021

Austin City Limits Lineups Released

October in Austin, Texas is a magical time. While most of the country endures the early signs of winter, locals and tourists alike can be found soaking up the sun and enjoying the warm –but not too warm– temperatures. Now, after a year of absence, that wonderful weather will be accompanied by live music as Austin City Limits is set to return to Zilker Park for two weekends, October 1-3 and October 8-10.

Known for both its music and food, Austin City Limits has become a perfect representation of its hometown. It’s quickly earned a reputation as one of America’s most exciting festivals, as 450,000 flocked to Austin for the 2019 edition. This year’s lineup is sure to draw a similar crowd, as it boasts headliners including George Strait, Billie Eilish, Stevie Nicks, Miley Cyrus, Rüfüs Du Sol, DaBaby, and Erykah Badu.

Dance music lovers can rejoice as Chris Lake, Lane 8, Alison Wonderland, and Chanel Tres will also be playing both weekends to get dancefloors moving and grooving. Other standouts including Megan Thee Stallion, Machine Gun Kelly, Doja Cat, Modest Mouse, Marc Rebillet, Phoebe Bridgers, and Greta Van Fleet have also found a home on the lineup for both weekends as well.

Unlike other festivals, ACL has two distinct lineups for each weekend with their own standouts in each. The first weekend will see artists like St. Vincent, Chet Faker, Tanya Tucker, Asleep At The Wheel, Mob Rich, and Joy Oladakun, to name a few. On the second weekend, other artists ranging from Madeon and LP Giobbi to Trixie Mattel and Hinds will be taking the stage to help bring the festival to a close.

Lollapalooza 2021 Lineup Released

Post Malone, Tyler the Creator, Miley Cyrus and The Foo Fighters will be among the headliners when Lollapalooza returns to Grant Park for its 30th anniversary July 29-August 1. The festival returns at full capacity after a year away due to the still-ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Attendees at this year’s festival must be fully vaccinated or provide a negative COVID-19 test obtained within 24 hours of each festival day.

Other returning acts include Illenium, Marshmello and Dababy. Roddy Ricch, who had a major 2020 despite the pandemic (thanks in no small part to TikTok) is a notable performer set to please the crowds who missed out on seeing him live last year. Three-time Grammy winner Megan Thee Stallion makes her Lolla debut this year after exploding into the mainstream with hits like “Savage” and “WAP.” Her appearance is much-welcomed after a lack of female headliners in years past.

Ten years after they played a now-classic rainy set at the festival, perennial rockers The Foo Fighters return to the Lolla stage. Much beloved, their unsurprising appearance is another reminder of the middling state of mainstream rock ’n’ roll. Whereas the festival’s pop, hip hop and electronic headliners continue to represent a crop of performers hand picked off the top of the Billboard Hot 100 charts, the rock acts often fall into the throwback vein.

According to Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s office, additional details on the festival and its entry process will be released in early July. The festival announced more than 165 bands and artists Wednesday. Four-day passes begin at $350 and go on sale at Lollapalooza.com at noon Wednesday, while one-day tickets have not yet been announced or on sale. Typically, Lollapalooza waits until four-day passes are sold out to announce the day-by-day lineup and put single-day tickets on sale.

The full lineup:

Foo Fighters, Post Malone, Tyler the Creator, Miley Cyrus, Dababy, Marshmello, Illenium, Journey, Megan Thee Stallion, Roddy Ricch, Kaytranada, Brockhampton, Playboi Carti, Young Thug, Limp Bizkit, Modest Mouse, Jack Harlow, Polo G, Trippie Redd, $uicideboy$, Alison Wonderland, Slander, Steve Aoki, Brittany Howard, Band of Horses, Jimmy Eat World, Dermot Kennedy, Young the Giant, Lauv, Giveon, Angels & Airwaves, Iann Dior, Saint Jhn, All Time Low, Mt. Lollapalooza To Return at Near or Full Capacity this Summer

As the U.S. moves closer to reopening seemingly every day, it looks like a big step forward will come in mid-summer, when the Lollapalooza Festival will return to Chicago with a four-day event at its usual place and date range — Grant Park, July 29-August 1. The city of Chicago gave the event the greenlight at near-to or -full-capacity, insiders report, and an official announcement, likely with headliners, is expected to come next week.

Late Thursday, CBS-2 Chicago cited an unnamed rep at “City Hall” as saying: “The Mayor’s Office and CDPH have been in conversation with several large event organizers, including the team at Lollapalooza, on how to bring these experiences back to Chicago in safe way. We are taking these events case by case and determining how we can ensure the safety of our patrons. While conversations have been moving forward in a positive way, nothing has been confirmed.” However, multiple industry sources tell Variety that the festival is moving forward, and the CBS-2 article also notes that the city plans to reopen with no restrictions by July 4, nearly four weeks before the festival.

Also last month, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot announced that the city is loosening its current pandemic restrictions, with allowed to operate with 15 people per 1,000 square feet, as reported by the Tribune. The city’s first street festival is scheduled to be the Windy City Smokeout on July 8-11, although full vaccination is required for all vendors, performers and staff, and non-vaccinated attendees would be required to present proof of a negative COVID test taken within three days of entry.

Lollapalooza will not even be the first major festival to be held in the U.S. since the fall of 2019. The three-day hip-hop festival Rolling Loud, with headliners A$AP Rocky, Travis Scott and Post Malone, will take place July 23-25 at the 65,000-capacity Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. New York is also moving ahead with its Governors Ball Festival in September, with a lineup featuring Rolling Loud performers A$AP Rocky, Post Malone, 21 Savage, Megan Thee Stallion and Dababy as well as more Lollapalooza-centric artists like Billie Eilish, J Balvin, Phoebe Bridgers and Portugal. The Man.

It seems likely that many of those artists would perform at Lollapalooza as well.
